796. Ant Nest in the Temple

The wounded must make some preparations before entering the treatment room.

When these things are done at the military camp in Duodan Town, Nika usually comes to help.

Now Surdak can only find two smarter ones among the veterans.

Even so, the entire front-end processing process is very rough.

So much so that the wounded who were sent to the treatment room basically had their leather armor peeled off, and the linen shirts underneath were cut open with a knife, turning them into useless pieces of cloth, only to expose the wounds that were bleeding constantly.

Those wounds torn apart by the claws of red ants with ghost stripes, the outer skin was turned over to reveal the severed tendons and fascia inside.

Or maybe the bloody bone stubble will come out of the skin, making it very bloody.

In pursuit of efficiency, Suldak let the two wounded people enter the temporary treatment room at the same time.

After Surdak offered a head sacrifice to the sacrificial altar, he could receive the blessing of the 'Blessed Body' twice. If there was a fracture, he would directly connect the broken bones, and then clamp and tie them with wooden boards. Some

If the wound is too long, it must be sutured with cotton thread.

It was busy until early in the morning before all the wounded soldiers were dealt with.

The cavalrymen of the three cavalry battalions only took a short rest before carrying various supplies onto the city wall at the pass, replacing the veterans who were still fighting above, and everyone had to take turns to rest.

The fighting in the square has basically subsided.

Occasionally, a few ghost-striped red ants will emerge from between the houses, and the archers guarding the exits will deal with them as soon as possible.

Some ghost-patterned soldier ants escaped the arrows and rushed to the square before the cavalry came out to deal with them.

The two commanders Intas and Hampton never rested. After they finished handling the affairs in the cavalry battalion, they took a group of cavalry who only had time to breathe deep into the town of Plantos. After all, this border town only

It took less than three days for the ghost-striped red ants to take over. Although no survivors were seen on the walls and streets of the pass, not even corpses, everyone believed that there were survivors in this town who were lucky enough to survive.

Commanders Intas and Hampton cleaned up one by one along the streets of Plantos Town.

But the result was not ideal. These ghost-striped red ants are naturally masters of digging holes. After searching and rescuing many houses, they only found bloody basements. In addition to the blood stains on the walls and floors, even small animals such as cats, dogs and poultry were found.

No beast can be found.

Unexpectedly, in just two days, the ghost-striped red ants had plundered everything edible in the town.

After working for most of the night, until dawn, most of the town had been cleared by the cavalry, but not even a single survivor was found.

The ghost-striped red ants in the town were also driven to the southwest corner of the town by the cavalry.

But what everyone didn't expect was that even though these ghost-striped red ants were retreating steadily, they did not completely evacuate Plantos Town.

There are still a large number of ghost-striped red ants gathering on the northern pass mountain trail.

Even with a fire burning under the city, they did not give up their attacks on the entire town.

After fighting fiercely for a day and a night, Andrew's body finally couldn't bear it anymore, so he set up a marching tent on the arrow tower at the top of the city. He didn't even take off the magic pattern structure on his body, so he collapsed directly in the tent.

A deep sleep.

Samira was sitting on the wall of the arrow tower. She seemed to be in good spirits and did not look like someone who had not slept all day and night.

After daybreak, the number of ghost-striped red ants coming up from the mountain road on the north side of the pass has decreased significantly.

Last night, Gallatin led a squadron of cavalry to rest in a tent.

He got up early in the morning, led the cavalry team to the pass city wall, and took over the defense here.

The veterans began to clean up the battlefield at the top of the city, throwing the useless red ants outside the city wall one by one and filling them into the fire as fuel.

Occasionally, the buzz of crossbow strings would be heard from the top of the city. The crossbowmen did not need to think about saving giant crossbow arrows for the town of Plantos. They frequently used these crossbows to kill the ghost-patterned soldier ants crawling over the mountain wall.

Suldak was about to walk down the city wall when he saw the captain of the third squadron running up the steps and standing in front of him to report:

"Boss, Commander Intas and Commander Hampton, please take the time to come over!"

"How is their search and rescue going?" Suldak only had time to pay attention to this matter at this time.

The captain of the third squadron sighed and said gloomily: "Everything went well, except that no survivors were found. Those red ants almost dug out the basements of the entire town. No one can survive hiding in the basements..."

"So... they are looking for me now and have discovered something?" Suldak took the lead and walked down the city wall.

A group of cavalry carrying giant crossbows passed by them.

The captain of the third squadron came over and whispered to Suldak: "We found a temple in the town, and a group of red ants were guarding it. They fought all morning but were not able to capture it. I heard that there are also giant ghost-striped red ants hiding there.

In the crypt..."

Surdak walked down the city wall, and there were already cavalrymen preparing their horses below.

"What's the news from Great Swordsman Chester?" Suldak mounted his horse and turned to ask.

"The commander of the army annihilated an ant colony last night, killed a queen, and intercepted two other ant colonies in the south of Plantos Town. These two ant colonies have retreated this morning.

We've arrived at the southern suburbs of Plantos Town." The captain of the third squadron mounted his horse and followed Suldak.

Walking through the dilapidated streets of Plantos Town, Suldak found that Plantos Town was larger than Dodan Town. In addition to the cross-shaped main street, there were several criss-crossing alleyways in the town, and there were also

There are some shops, and there is also a temple built in the south of the town.

Surdak rode outside the temple. The entire temple was surrounded by a group of cavalry, and there were sounds of fighting inside.

Dozens of corpses of ghost-patterned soldier ants were strewn about at the gate of the temple. Surdak walked in on horseback, and the cavalry guarding both sides of the gate saluted Surdak.

The temple was somewhat dilapidated, the ground was covered with a thick layer of blood, and even had a strong sour smell.

The courtyard was crowded with cavalry. Some injured cavalry were withdrawn from the yard and were immediately replaced by cavalry waiting nearby.

Passing through the vestibule of the church, the courtyard was filled with corpses of ghost-striped red ants. A group of cavalry lined up waiting to enter the temple. The battle took place in the backyard of the temple.

As Surdak walked by, the cavalrymen saluted and got out of the way.

There is a basement in the backyard of the temple, or it can be used as a dungeon. However, the temple has been abandoned for a long time. The entire backyard is overgrown with weeds. A group of cavalry surrounds the entire backyard of the temple. There are many red ghosts lying in the courtyard.

The corpses of ants filled the yard with a strong sour smell.

When Surdak walked in, he saw a giant ghost-patterned soldier ant sticking out half of its body from the basement exit under the wall of the main building, fighting like a cavalry.

Intas and Commander Hampton stood at the door of the backyard, talking quietly.

"What happened here?" Surdak walked over and asked.

He knew that Intas would not be able to call him over from the pass wall just because of such a giant ghost-patterned soldier ant.

"There are a lot of red ants with ghost stripes coming out of it, and we guess this is where they store food!" Intas turned to explain to Suldak, and then pointed to a corner of the backyard.

Surdak took a casual look and saw a pile of human bones covered in mucus and incompletely digested...

"We just killed a very strange red ant with ghost stripes, and all these things came out of its stomach." Hampton covered his mouth with one hand and looked a little ugly.

The few cavalrymen in front have stabbed the giant ghost-patterned soldier ant all over with their knight lances, but unfortunately it still refused to come out of the cave or retreat.

Until Surdak rushed up and chopped off its head with a sword, a group of cavalry worked together to drag its body up from the entrance of the cave, and a dark hole was revealed under its body...
