81. Surdak's bold plan

In just two days, nearly 300 soldiers of the Fourth Brigade opened a forest road on the north side of the narrow corridor five kilometers west of Moyun Ridge.

The second team arrived at the eastern end of the forest road and saw a group of heavy armored infantry soldiers sweating with sweat, waving their logging axes and cutting down birch and maple trees that were 20 to 30 meters high.

There are relatively few oaks, oaks and yellow pine trees in the forest in this area. There are no hard hardwood trees. The work of opening forest roads is going very smoothly. The soldiers of the fourth brigade are each responsible for a ten-meter section of the road every day. Such high-altitude roads

The intensive felling task requires the soldiers to cut for at least twelve hours a day to ensure that they complete their assigned tasks.

It was under the high pressure of Baron Sidney that the Fourth Brigade opened a 7,000-meter-long forest road in just two days.

Seeing the second team emerging from the forest camouflaged with leaves, the heavy armored infantry soldiers who were logging all looked envious.

A soldier stopped waving the wood-cutting ax in his hand and greeted Surdak familiarly:

"Hi, Suldak, how is the situation over at Moyun Ridge?"

Surdak lowered his head and walked at the front. When he saw someone greeting him, he signaled the team to continue walking along the forest road. He stopped and said to the soldier:

"We found the Ghost Patrol at the foot of Mount Moyun Ridge. Craigie, did you see Lord Sidney?"

The warrior named Craigie stretched out his hand and pointed forward along the forest road and said:

"The Baron seems to be over there..."

He Boqiang followed Suldak, and when he saw Craigie's lazy look on his face, he understood that he was a soldier in the infantry regiment.

Suldak didn't want to talk much. Before leaving, he said to Craigie: "Even if you cut down trees, you have to be careful. There might be evil spirits running out of here at any time. I will report to the Baron about the situation there...

…”

Before he finished speaking, Suldak wanted to leave.

Unexpectedly, he was grabbed by Craigie.

"Wait a minute, Suldak, for the sake of your fellow countrymen, when you see Lord Sidney, help me ask if the patrol team still needs manpower..."

Craigie put a smile on his face and said to Suldak.

Surdak only responded with a faint smile.

Seeing that Surdak didn't agree immediately, Craigie took two steps forward, grabbed Suldak's arm and complained to him without letting go:

"I really envy your team for being assigned to the streets. Look at us, our hands are covered with blisters. We have to cut down trees every day when we wake up and work until dark. The loggers in the forest farm have no experience either.

Living such a hard life^"

Suldak stopped and said to Craigie with a serious face:

"Craig, do you really want to go out on duty?"

With a charming smile on his face, Craigie raised a hand and said:

"It's absolutely true, I can swear to the Statue of Liberty..."

The bearded Kagel passed by. As a believer of the Earth Goddess, he stopped when he heard Craigie say this and asked with a puzzled look on his face:

"Kraigi, haven't you always believed in the Earth Goddess?"

Craigie's face fell, and he was speechless with embarrassment.

Suldak glanced at Craigie calmly, and then said: "I will mention this matter to Lord Sidney, and now there happens to be such an opportunity, the Seventeenth Team on duty in the neighboring district happened to be attacked by evil

The Ghost Patrol has been killed, and now there is a lack of a team on duty in that area. I think Lord Sidney will agree."

Hearing Suldak talk about encountering evil spirits in the forest, Craigie's face suddenly became very ugly.

He stepped forward, intending to chat with Surdak again, but at this time Surdak had already taken long strides and walked forward.

"Hey, hey! Suldak, please wait a moment, I think we can have a good chat..."

After hearing Suldak's report, Baron Sidney quickly summoned the five squadron leaders and held a simple meeting on the newly opened forest road.

Surdak did not have the opportunity to observe this impromptu meeting. After the second team carried out supplies, they once again dived into the dense forest.

According to Baron Sidney's order, they still have to hold on in the forest at the foot of Moyunling Mountain for two days. And at the current logging speed, it will take at least two days for the Fourth Brigade to cross this mountain range and compete with the ones behind it.

The second group meets up.

Returning to the monitoring area at the foot of Moyunling Mountain, a large number of huge and messy footprints were left in the forest, but no evil spirits were found in the dense forest.

Surdak returned to the battlefield with the second team of soldiers, and found that in addition to puddles of blood stains on the ground that could not be covered up, all the corpses of those soldiers had disappeared without a trace.

The soldiers of the second team returned to the temporary camp. The temporary camp was in a crevice under a huge rock. After a day and night, everyone was exhausted. Red Socks and a recruit were on guard, and the other soldiers lay in the tents to rest.

.

Suldak couldn't sleep while lying on the hyena skin mattress, so he woke up He Boqiang beside him, sat up from the mattress, crossed his legs and said to He Boqiang: "Little Dak, do you think we are killing evil people?"

Has the power of ghosts?”

He Boqiang didn't understand it at first, but he became more awake when he heard the word "evil ghost".

Surdak turned around and brought in the leather package hanging outside the tent. He unwrapped the package and found four sacrificial-grade monster heads inside. However, the weather was a bit hot, and these heads had only undergone simple antiseptic treatment, so the heads were

It exudes a faint smell of decay.

"Can you use these sacrifices to give us stronger abilities?"

He Boqiang nodded.

"I want to try it, the lone evil ghost in the hunting patrol..."

He Boqiang stared at Suldak and realized that he didn't seem to be joking.

"Do you think this idea is okay?"

Surdak asked in a low voice.

He Boqiang nodded, then picked up two monster heads, dragged Suldak outside the tent, and immediately laid out the magic circle required for the 'sacrifice ceremony'.

"Hey, little Duck, shouldn't there be a sacrificial ceremony before the battle?"

He Boqiang said in his heart, how could it be too late?

He waved his hand to Suldak, indicating that this was not necessary at all.

After setting up the magic circle required for the ceremony, He Boqiang stood in the center of the magic circle and recited a prayer silently in his heart. A demon god's phantom appeared in front of He Boqiang. This time He Boqiang sacrificed two monster heads to the demon god's phantom.

As the sacrifice turned into stars in the flames, a force poured into He Boqiang's body.

He Boqiang kept thinking silently in his heart:

‘Blessed Body’

'Shield of Blessing'

Two golden light pillars fell from the sky, covering the body of Surdak who was a little overwhelmed. Some golden runes in the light pillars were imprinted on Surdak's body, causing a faint hexagram formation to rise under his feet...

After giving Surdak two buffs, the divine power that poured into He Boqiang's hands did not completely dissipate.

So He Boqiang tried to wipe it on his chest, and a golden beam of light enveloped his whole body. In an instant, He Boqiang felt the power of the 'Blessed Body' again.

Suldak seemed to feel that kind of power. He stretched his arms and asked He Boqiang excitedly: "How long can this effect last? The effect of the Eye of Truth doesn't last long."

He took out the Roman sword from his waist and swung it twice vigorously. The power filled Surdak's body, causing him to make a sharp sound of breaking through the air when he swung the long sword.

Seeing He Boqiang holding out three fingers, Suldak said eagerly:

"You mean the magical effect brought about by the ritual can last for three hours? Then do we need to find a lone evil ghost as soon as possible?"

He Boqiang shook his head and stretched out three fingers again.

Surdak asked casually, half-jokingly: "Did I guess wrong? If the duration is not three hours, can it be three days?..."

Before Suldak could finish speaking, He Boqiang nodded to Suldak...

Suldak looked at He Boqiang with a blank expression and swallowed all the words that followed.

Note:

The function of the 'Blessed Body' is to comprehensively increase one's own physical fitness, possessing strong recovery power and endurance. In addition, the strength and agility are slightly improved.

The function of the 'Blessed Shield' is to add magical power to the shield, which can absorb impact and increase the blocking effect.
