180. The Hogwarts that never was

Azkaban did not have Dementors in the beginning, it was used by the Ministry of Magic as a prison to hold prisoners.

Its history dates from the fifteenth century.

The first fortress of Azkaban was built on an island in the North Sea, and this island never appears on any map, not Muggle or wizard maps.

There are rumors that this place was created by magic, and some people say that it was enchanted to enlarge the space.

The fortress was originally the home of an unknown wizard who called himself Extis.

His magic power is extremely powerful, but his nationality is unknown. Extis performs the most evil black magic. He also seduces, tortures and kills Muggle sailors who pass through here, and takes pleasure in it.

At that time, many people believed that he had gone insane. It was not until his death and the concealment spell he cast lost its effectiveness that the Ministry of Magic became aware of the existence of the island and the building. Those who went to investigate were only willing to mention that place everywhere afterwards.

Both are dementors, and refuse to reveal more.

After Jon and Fred stepped off the boat, there was gray mist everywhere in front of them.

These thick fogs look no different from normal fogs, covering the entire Azkaban Island and the surrounding sea areas.

"These gray fogs are all magical. Except for specific people or ships, if they drive the ship away from the shore, it is basically impossible to find their way back by themselves. Hogwarts

After leaving the shore, they will directly start sailing to the next target point, and there is no way to guide them back."

Nick, who was floating in the air, stared at Jon and said with a frown.

"You don't want them to leave you with a psychological burden when they leave you?"

Fred heard Nick's words and looked at Jon with a surprised look on his face.

Jon apologized to him with an apologetic look.

"Sorry, Fred, I just made my own decision privately because I had no way to ask your opinion alone. Nick is right. If the Hogwarts sails off the coast of this island without waiting for us to come back, then

Relying on Neville and the others to drive, there is basically no possibility of finding the original road again."

"Once such a situation occurs, there is a high probability that the two of us will be left on this island forever."

Fred had no intention of blaming Jon for this matter, he looked free and easy.

"Hey, what are you talking about? How could I blame you for such a thing? Not only me, Jon, but if you ask anyone on the Hogwarts to come down with you, they will only praise you for doing the right thing.

I definitely understand which one is more important, the safety of us and the entire school. They are right not to tell George. If they knew, they would definitely not be willing to give up on us and sail the ship away."

Of course Fred is not afraid of sacrifice, just like he sacrificed himself in battle in the normal timeline without any regrets.

But even if he knew his character, Jon didn't take it for granted that he could decide the fate of others privately.

Everyone has the right to choose independently. Even if you know very well that he will definitely choose this, it is still his choice.

So Jon solemnly apologized to Fred.

Nick, who was floating in the air, looked at them with a complicated expression.

He has been at Hogwarts, the magic school, for hundreds of years and has witnessed countless students coming in and out of the castle.

In these years, we have seen all kinds of disputes, and witnessed all kinds of friendships, but like Hogwarts now, there is no difference between houses, no difference in blood, no matter what kind of family you are from.

, almost all of them regard the classmates around them as their closest people.

There has never been a period like this in hundreds of years.

The loss of Hogwarts Castle not only did not tear the school apart, but instead brought it closer together in other ways.

Nick had no doubt that such a Hogwarts would not be crushed by darkness and injustice, just as since ancient times, the highest standard of conduct recognized by both Muggles and wizards is still truth, goodness and beauty.

There were no guards posted along the coast of Azkaban Island, so Jon, the two of them and Nick easily landed on the island.

"Actually, many times people have some cognitive misunderstandings about the name Azkaban." As they moved forward, Nick explained to them, "Actually, at the beginning, the name was not called the island, but

It is the castle built in the center of the island. The name of the castle is Azkaban, just like Hogwarts Castle."

"Just because the island itself has no name, over time, everyone called the entire island Azkaban Island. It is also because of this that many people who don't know about it don't know that the prison itself is actually a castle.

"

Jon and Fred looked in the direction where Nick was looking, and through the gray fog that had become somewhat thinner, they saw a tall and dilapidated castle.

The outer wall made of stone was covered with unknown black and purple plants. They were swaying in the cold sea breeze, like a withered arm stretching out from a prison.

Fred subconsciously tightened his thick robe, and his voice was unconsciously filled with nervousness.

"So what are we going to do when we get to the island?"

Nick replied.

"We're going to find out if there are any Aurors from the Ministry of Magic stationed on this island?"

"We took the initiative to find the Aurors?" Fred's eyes widened slightly, "Why? Aren't we going to look for the traces left by the Dark Lord on the island?"

Before disembarking, Jon had informed everyone that in addition to avoiding the war between Britain and France, their voyage had an additional purpose assigned to them by Dumbledore.

"It has been 13 years since the Dark Lord came to this island, and none of us know what he did on the island at that time," Nick said.

Fred asked.

"Then the Aurors stationed here will know about it? The Ministry of Magic will not send someone to stay here for 13 consecutive years, right? What's more, the Dark Lord will not think of hiding this matter. He will definitely deliberately hide it at that time

The memories of all insiders were erased, and they were even killed directly."

"But dementors cannot be killed."

Jon mentioned something, which made Fred suddenly stunned. The twins were very smart, and he immediately thought of Jon's intention.

"You mean, he won't get rid of these dementors on the island! They have always been on this island, so they must know what happened 13 years ago!"
