36. Second Night Raid

Jon panicked and lifted Slughorn, who was covered in blood, from the ground.

"professor!"

The old walrus's face was bloodless, and it was obviously pale due to excessive blood loss. He fumbled for a bottle of potion from his robe pocket and waved his hand to Jon.

"Don't worry, you won't die."

At the last moment when the explosion curse took effect, in order to protect the student in front of him, Slughorn finally had time to use a silent armor curse.

The effect of the silent spell must have been weakened. Although this spell saved his and the students' lives, it also made Slughorn lose the ability to fight back. He could only use it under the cover of Dumbledore's magic.

Disapparated and fled to the carriage.

Lily and Mag, who were originally arranging students in the carriage, also heard the noise and ran out of the carriage.

They saw Slughorn, who was covered in blood and drinking a blood-replenishing potion. At the same time, they also saw black-robed wizards wearing metal masks emerging from the woods one after another on the edge of the red flames, holding wands in their hands.

These people are obviously not Aurors. Even the Ministry of Magic under the control of Voldemort will never let the Aurors who maintain order in the magical world face the public with such a terrifying image.

They embroidered on the left sleeve of their robes a tattoo-like image of a poisonous tongue passing through a skull, revealing the identity of these people.

There is only one organization in the entire magical world that is qualified to embroider this symbol called the Dark Mark on clothes——

Death Eaters!

The man who was once a die-hard loyalist is now controlled by him alone, and his power is much higher than that of the Wizard Guard at the Auror Command.

Seeing the pair of metal masks, every professor at Hogwarts knew that this attack was obviously different from the last petty brawl.

Lily's hands were shaking.

She looked at the Death Eaters shrouded in darkness, her eyes bloodshot with hatred.

Mag felt the change in her mood and couldn't help but frown and said.

"Lily, help Horace in and take a look..."

"Professor!" She gritted her teeth and interrupted Mag's words.

Lily and Mag looked at each other, and her almost overflowing emotions were impossible to ignore.

McGonagall sighed, and she and Jon held Slughorn's arm together.

"I know you have never given up in your heart. I'm going to watch the students. You have to be careful when you stay here."

Lily jumped out of the carriage without any hesitation, and the cold night wind carried snowflakes and blew the hem of her robe.

Looking at the masked Death Eaters not far away, her sharp and resentful voice pierced the night sky.

"Where is Severus Snape!"

All the Death Eaters were silent, no one responded to her, but the tip of everyone's wand flashed red!

"All petrified!"

No one used the killing curse, and no one used the explosive curse, which has a chance of causing death, but the scene of dozens of petrification curses being fired out was still terrifying!

But the red flame that never went out rose up, and the dense petrification spell was instantly melted when it came into contact with the flame, just like snow and fire meeting!

Lily didn't care whether they answered or not. Snape was just one of her biggest enemies. This didn't mean that she would turn a blind eye to Voldemort's other subordinates.

These people didn't dare to kill her, but Lily dared to fight back!

"Thunderbolt explosion!"

This is almost the spell with the strongest and widest range of damage among all spells.

The Death Eater who was the first to strike just now chose the Explosion Curse instead of the Death Curse, hoping to kill two people with just one spell.

She was originally a Gryffindor genius when she was a student at Hogwarts. Although she was born into a Muggle family, she was favored by Slytherin Headmaster Slughorn because of her extraordinary magical talent.

During these years of exile, hatred and continuous conflicts with people from the Ministry of Magic made her strength increase at a rate beyond ordinary people's imagination.

A much louder rumble than the previous explosive spell exploded in the crowd of Death Eaters!

Countless transparent masks were infected by the firelight and turned into a blazing golden red. There was a sound like glass being broken, and the armor curses that had been on the bodies of more than a dozen Death Eaters were blown up.

Crush!

The Death Eaters began to disperse quickly. They raised their wands to deal with the red flames cast by Dumbledore, while aiming at Lily and Flitwick to fight back.

For a moment, red and green lights shined in this forest that was originally only black and white!

Inside the carriage.

After McGonagall and Jon helped Slughorn onto the carriage, Hagrid immediately pulled the reins, and the carriage that had been stagnant for a day began to run again.

After sending Slughorn to the infirmary of the carriage, they returned to the restaurant together.

Old Walrus's condition is not too bad. As long as he is still conscious, he has enough means to take care of his injuries, and there is no need to leave anyone to watch.

Mag didn't forget that there might be someone hiding in the carriage who shouldn't be there, and tonight's Death Eater attack confirmed her previous guess.

The whereabouts of the Hogwarts carriage are completely unplanned. Even Hagrid, who is driving the car, may not know in advance where they are going that day, unless someone is on the carriage to deliver the route in real time!

If the last night attack could be explained by coincidence, then the second attack just three months later could not be a coincidence.

Just in case, she gathered all the students in the dining hall again, and she herself stayed here.

The students' originally happy Christmas mood completely turned into fear and fear at this moment. Everyone huddled in their sleeping bags. Few people fell asleep, but no one made a sound, only the occasional sobs of a few timid girls.

Rings.

After Jon entered the restaurant, he could choose a place to sleep close to the door. Neville and the others didn't understand his move because the place near the door was the coldest place in the room, and no students would choose to sleep there.

Sleep here.

But Jon didn't explain that much to them. After getting into the sleeping bag handed out by Professor McGonagall, he kept facing the crack in the door and waited quietly.

The cold wind blew the bangs on Jon's forehead from the crack of the door. His face was numb from the cold, but he had no intention of moving to another place to sleep peacefully.

He felt that there might be a possibility that the purpose of the Death Eaters outside was not to keep or kill them, but to prevent the carriage from being in this situation.

Most of the professors were gone, the students were gathered together, and the entire carriage except for the dining hall and the infirmary was completely empty!
