Chapter 1401 Bodhi Verse

"Bodhi has no tree, and the mirror is not a stand. There is nothing in the beginning, so how can it be stained by dust. Donor Yun, do you know which eminent monk said this Buddhist Zen saying?"

Master Wuhui didn't open his eyes, but his hoarse voice sounded slowly.

Other Buddhist stanzas may have unknown origins, but this "Bodhi Stanza" was so famous that it was difficult for her not to know it.

She said slowly: "The heart is a bodhi tree, and it is a mirror stand. The mirror is originally clear and bright, but it is stained by dust. This "Bodhi Verse" was written by Zen Master Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch of Buddhism."

Master Wuhui said: "Amitabha, Donor Yun really has deep wisdom. Yes, it was done by Zen Master Huineng, the founder of Tantric Buddhism. In fact, there are two more sentences at the end. I wonder if Donor Yun knows?"

Yun Qiyou thought for a while and said: "Bodhi is only sought from the heart, so why bother seeking mysteries from outside? I heard that if you practice this way, the West is only now!" At this time, Master Wuhui slowly opened his eyes and nodded slightly.

, said: "Although you come from heaven, your memories of heaven have been sealed by experts. You can have such broad knowledge. It seems that Donor Ruan has put a lot of thought into you over the years. Donor Ruan can have you as his successor."

, want to come to her

I will also feel quite happy in the Pure Land of Western Heaven."

Hearing Master Wuhui mention his master, Yun Qiyou looked a little sad and lowered his head silently.

Master Wuhui knew that she was feeling sentimental about her ancestor, so he was silent for a while, letting Yun Qiyou collect his thoughts. After a long while, Master Wuhui said: "Actually, the Buddhist Tantra heart method is in this "Bodhi Gauge"

The best explanation has been obtained. The heart is Bodhi, Bodhi is Buddha, and the heart is Buddha. Seeking Buddha means asking the heart. The heart is not impure, and the West is not far away. If the heart has impure thoughts, chant the Buddha's name.

Rebirth is hard to come by. Do you understand?"

Although it was his first time to explore the Heart Buddha, Yun Qiyou understood the meaning behind Master Wuhui's words.

The most important thing in Tantric Buddhism is the heart of each practitioner. The Buddha they admire is not the West Buddha they talk about all day long, nor the Buddha and Bodhisattva enshrined in the meditation room, but their own heart.

Sure enough, Master Wuhui continued: "With a lamp, there is light, and without a lamp, there is no light. A lamp is the body of light, and light is its purpose. Donor Yun, do you think this lamp is a Buddha, or is the light a Buddha?"

Yun Qiyou replied: "Of course it's the lamp."

Master Wuhui nodded. The lamp is the Buddha, the Buddha is the heart, and the lamp is the heart. Yun Qiyou understands this very well and does not need any further explanation from Master Wuhui.

Seeing that Yun Qiyou already had a rough idea of the Heart Buddha, Master Wuhui continued.

"The mind is vast, just like the void. The void can contain the sun, moon, stars, the earth's mountains and rivers, all vegetation, bad people and good people, evil and good laws, heaven and hell, all in the sky. The human nature of the world is empty, and so it is. Therefore, all dharmas are empty.

, return to the original heart.”

"If you see the true way, walking rightly is the way. If you don't have a right mind, you can't see the way by walking in secret. There is a Buddha in my heart, and the Buddha is the real Buddha. If I don't have a Buddha mind, where can I ask for the Buddha!"

Listening to these obscure Buddhist Zen principles taught by Master Wuhui, Yun Qiyou finally understood why the four great monks of Kasyapa Temple failed miserably in debating scriptures and Taoism more than a hundred years ago.

Whether it is Master Wuhui who is preaching about Buddhism at the moment, or Master Wuwei who is sitting cross-legged beside him, I am afraid that his understanding of the Zen philosophy of the Buddha’s mind has reached the pinnacle of perfection.

This is the real Buddhist monk!

Unlike the group of monks at Kashyapa Temple, who spent seventy-eight percent of their lives practicing Taoism, and not much time was actually spent studying Buddhism.

In fact, it is not Buddhism on earth that is sad, and why is Taoism not like this?

Buddhism has Eastern Zen and Western Esoteric Buddhism, so Taoism is also divided into the South Way and the North Way.

Among the South Dao sects, represented by the Xuantian Sect and the Cangyun Sect, who has truly participated in the study of Taoist Xuanmen knowledge? Who has not been diligently cultivating the true method?

It is ridiculous to say that Xuantian Sect and Cangyun Sect, the most powerful Taoist sects, cannot represent the top theories of Taoism in the world.

Today, those who study Taoism the most are the Maoshan branch, which has been in decline for many years, and the Quanzhen branch.

Master Wuhui talked endlessly to Yun Qiyou, most of which were Buddhist verses and some Buddhist allusions.

There is indeed something in it that Yun Qiyou feels.

For example, Zen Master Huineng, who created a line of Buddhist esoteric Buddhism that has been passed down through the ages and left behind the classic "Sixth Patriarch Altar Sutra", turned out to be illiterate and could not read a single Chinese character.

I had only heard this rumor before, but it was confirmed by Master Wuhui. Yun Qiyou asked very strangely: "Since the Sixth Patriarch Huineng is illiterate and has never read scriptures, how could he compose the Bodhi Gauge?"

There are famous Buddhist sayings that have been passed down through the ages, and the "Sixth Patriarch's Altar Sutra" has always been closely related to the "Dharma Light Treasure Buddha" of Kasyapa Temple and the "Great Sun Tathagata" of Ji Xiang'an.

With the same name, it should be a very mysterious scripture."

Master Wuhui smiled slightly, pointed his withered finger at his heart, but said nothing.

Yun Qiyou looked at it for a long time, and suddenly realized something. He gently pinched the orchid finger with his fingers, and three dead leaves floated up by his feet, forming a fan shape between his fingers.

When the two masters Wuhui and Wuwei saw this, they both showed wonder in their eyes. Obviously they did not expect that Yun Qiyou's understanding was so high. In just a short moment, they had a first glimpse of the realm of Buddhism. This root of wisdom is actually

The two of them met only once in their lives.

Neither Yun Qiyou nor Master Wuhui spoke, but they both already understood the meaning of the other's actions.

Master Wuhui's finger and heart mean: Although Master Huineng cannot read a single big character, his heart has become a Buddha and is like space, containing all things, so he can compose "Bodhisattva" and "Sixth Patriarch Altar Sutra", even if he is illiterate.

It doesn't matter, it's just oral, and naturally a disciple will record it in a book.

Yun Qiyou is holding three dead leaves with his fingers. In fact, this is an allusion to Buddhism.

Three thousand of the disciples of the Buddha held a lecture at the Lingshan Mountain, holding flowers and showing them to the crowd. At that time, everyone was silent except for the Venerable Kassapa with a broken face and a smile.

The Buddha said: "The one who becomes my Buddha is Kasyapa."

Master Wuhui stood up, followed by Yun Qiyou.

Yun Qiyou was very strange. He thought that Master Wuhui would teach him the Buddhist Tantra mentality today, but he ended up teaching Buddhist Zen principles for an hour.

Unexpectedly, Master Wuhui said at this time: "The Dharma that can save you does not lie with me, but with you. Whether you can learn the Dharma and spread its teachings depends on your own destiny."

Yun Qiyou was stunned.

Daqing, this master Wuhui has no intention of teaching his Buddhist tantric inner teachings at all. He wants to rely on himself to understand them.

If I had been able to understand the inner teachings of Tantric Buddhism, I would have become a person as famous as Zen Master Huineng through the ages. Why would I travel thousands of miles to Mount Wutai to seek the Dharma?

Seeing the change in Yun Qiyou's expression, Master Wuwei stepped forward and said: "Back then, Monk Lujiao was sitting under this bodhi tree, facing the stone cliff in front of him to pass on the secret method of Huinengxin Buddha. There are ancient rumors in the temple, and those who are destined can inherit it.

"It's a pity that over the years, no one with a destiny has appeared in Qingliang Temple." Yun Qiyou was stunned. Could it be that this stone cliff is like the Siguo Cliff at the back of Cangyun Mountain. Doesn't it have some secret?
