I went to get my hair done, had a spa treatment, and picked out an evening dress. It was only five o'clock when I came out, and I happened to pick up Xiaonian.
When we arrived at the nursery, Xiaonian was playing in the sand alone.
Otoya picked him up and said, "Baby, it's been a hundred days since Jiujiu was born. Do you remember that your mother took you to see him at that time?"
Xiaonian rubbed his head, thought for a while, and nodded.
Yinmi looked at his son and vaguely remembered his dinner party that day. Fu Lingzhi happened to take his troops to Norway to participate in military exercises. Although the old man threw a grand party for him, Yinmi still felt a little regretful.
Fu Lingzhi didn't like to laugh. Soldiers were born serious and always had a cold face. Xiaonian had always been afraid of him.
When they arrived at the villa, Xiaonian got out of the car alone.
Otoya was going to get something from the trunk. When she saw him walking to the door and standing on tiptoe to press the password, she was startled, "Xiaonian! Wait for me!"
Xiaonian turned around and looked at her mother in confusion. Otomi dropped her things and ran over, blocking her behind her, "Xiaonian, be good, mom, go in and take a look first."
Otoya opened the door and walked to the hall. The sofa was empty. He walked around on the second floor and heard no sound.
She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Baby, you can go in now!" She squatted down, took his little hand, and smiled unsteadily.
Xiaonian took his hand out of hers and didn't say anything. He just looked at her. Otoya thought he was weird and asked, "What's wrong?"
He moved his mouth and said unconvincingly, "I know what mom is looking at."
It was rare to hear his voice. If it was normal, Otoya would have been crazy with joy, but now, she couldn't laugh at all.
Xiaonian took two steps back, tilted his head and looked carefully into the crack of the door, "Mom, don't worry, he is not here, and there is no woman here."
Otoya heard her own crying voice coming out of her throat. At the age of twenty-seven, she did not like to cry. But her tears were disobedient and fell down like that, hitting her bare insteps with a dull sound.
The pain.
She was so smart in her childhood and told her mother so calmly that her father was not here and there was no girl either.
It was the summer a year ago. She picked him up from the nursery. She was dizzy that day. She saw that the door was unlocked and didn't care. She took Xiaonian and opened the door. When she saw the scene in the living room, she was shocked.
Fu Lingzhi rolled his eyes. Fu Lingzhi was lying flat on the sofa. On top of him was a young woman with long hair spread across his open chest. What were they doing? Kissing, hugging, and caressing.
Otoya couldn't move at all, but at that moment when her heart was aching, she still didn't forget to cover Xiaonian's eyes.
But he remembered it, and he cleverly noticed that his mother's hand covering his eyes was trembling violently.
Otoya wiped away his tears carelessly and turned him around. He looked at her quietly and touched her head with his small hands. In his simple mind, his mother often did this action, so it wouldn't hurt if she touched it.
She rested her head on his warm belly and patted his back gently, "Good boy, mommy is fine. Mommy, don't cry."
