Chapter 17: Practice Courage

I thought to myself that Uncle Chao was probably pretending to be drunk again, so I said, "Uncle Chao, I want to learn how to fight with you!"

Uncle Chao still ignored me and closed his eyes.

I chuckled and said, "Uncle Chao, there is a limit to pretending to be mysterious. I know everything about you in the past."

Uncle Chao sat up immediately and asked me: "What do you know?"

I laughed again: "I read the Road to County X, and there was an article about you in it. You used to be the king of duels!"[

Uncle Chao seemed to be relieved and said: "Well, that happened when I was young, just playing around!"

I said: "Then you teach me how to fight, they always bully me."

Uncle Chao also laughed: "With your little arms and legs, who can you beat?"

I was not convinced: "Uncle Chao, you are quite thin, why don't you still beat them until they are crawling all over the floor!"

Uncle Chao was also happy: "You fight just to avoid being bullied by them, right?"

I said, "Yes, they always bully me and ask me for money."

Uncle Chao nodded and said, "Okay, just don't be a bad example."

After saying that, Uncle Chao pulled out a machete from under the sofa and said, "Follow me."

It was the first time in my life that I saw that kind of machete. I was so frightened that I didn't dare to take a step.

Uncle Chao said with a smile: "Are you afraid?"

I said: "That's weird, let's go!"

I followed Uncle Chao downstairs. He hid the machete behind his clothes and led me to a remote place.

I asked: "Where are we going?"

Uncle Chao said: "Zhou Wang Mountain." The speed was getting faster and faster.

I chased him for a few steps and then asked, "Why are you going to the mountain?"

Uncle Chao said: "Practice your courage."

I didn't ask any more questions, thinking that when I got to the mountain, I would be asked to cut down some scarecrows or something to practice my skills.

When we got to the mountain, we followed the path until we reached a fork in the road. Uncle Chao said, "Let's go right here."

I looked around and saw no scarecrow.[

Uncle Chao took off the dark scabbard, threw it aside, and handed the knife to me.

I picked up the knife and felt inexplicably excited as I weighed something of such real weight for the first time.

Uncle Chao said: "Someone will come down in a while. Just take this knife and go over and ask him for money."

When I heard this, I became anxious, took two steps back, and said, "I won't do that!"

Uncle Chao added: "You have to do it even if you don't want to do it, otherwise you won't be able to develop your courage. If that person dares not to give you money, you can slash his back twice with a knife."

I threw the knife on the ground and stared at Uncle Chao angrily: "Uncle, how could you teach me this?"

Uncle Chao was a little stunned: "Don't you want to learn to fight?"

I said: "I want to learn to fight, not to kill people! Nor to steal money! I want to learn fighting skills!"

Uncle Chao laughed again: "There is a skill in fighting. No matter how good your kung fu is, you will be knocked down with just one brick. Look at my arms and legs. Do you really think I rely on skills to become the king of duels? I rely on sneak attacks."

!”

I said in surprise: "Sneak attack?"

Uncle Chao nodded: "Yes, sneak attack! If someone provokes me, I will take the brick and go up and turn around while he is not paying attention."

I was a little confused: "You have no fighting skills?"

Uncle Chao thought for a moment and said, "It's about speed, precision, and accuracy, but this depends on talent and cannot be learned."
