Chapter 60: On the Bones

On the second day of August, the 4th and 5th Regiments of the Guard Division were ordered to march towards Jinzhou. Ten miles west of Jinzhou City, they encountered the Qing Dynasty's first-class soldiers and the Han army with yellow flags, Tong Guogang, led by the forward, Xiaoqi and guard troops of the third battalion.

, the rearguard division failed to fight, leaving thousands of corpses, and retreated north. [] Tong Guogang's troops took advantage of the situation and pursued to Heishan and Qinghe, killing hundreds of people before stopping, and then turned southeast and rushed towards Shengjing.

On the third day of August, the cavalry division raided the Kaiyuan garrison. After a fierce battle for half a day, Kaiyuan was trapped and 360 Qing soldiers under the three official guards of Kaiyuan City were captured.

On the fifth day of August, the Guards Division reached Meihekou and advanced south to Tieling. At this point, all the northwest of Shengjing fell into Guan Ning's hands.

On the eighth day of August, the vanguard division arrived in Fushun via Wula, Narhong, Liuhe and Yongling in Jilin. Fushun guard Tongbai abandoned the city and fled. On that day, Fushun fell.

On August 10, the vanguard division and Guan Ning's main force met in Qingyuan Town, northwest of Shengjing.

After receiving the report of the defeat of the rearguard division in Jinzhou, Zhao Qiang immediately ordered the rearguard division to shrink and move to Wufeng and Zhangwu to ensure the safety of Wu La, and urgently ordered Wuer Leng in the rear to draw another 3,000 men to supplement the rearguard division.

……………

On the second day of August, Shaanxi urgently reported that General Tu Hai of Fuyuan, the commander of the Zhenghuang Banner in Manchuria and the former minister of the Ministry of Rites, had died of illness.

Kangxi was shocked when he heard the news, and immediately ordered the official minister Manshang Keerkun and the first-class bodyguard Dong Anlan to go to Xi'an to offer tea and wine, and gave him three thousand taels of silver and a python satin saddle horse.

.

On the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, Emperor Kangxi wrote an imperial poem to commemorate Tuhai. The poem said: The secrets of the two dynasties should not be valued by the ministers of the Yuan Dynasty. The Qin Dynasty will be established in the west with a yue. The fame of the bells and tripods hangs in the sun and the moon, and the career of the painting is painted by the unicorn.

Before his death, Tuhai submitted his legacy to Kangxi, saying that the only one in the world who could quell the Rakshasa rebel army outside the Pass was Zhou Peigong.

On the fifth day of the lunar month, First-Class Duke Tong Guogang reported victory and attacked the main force of the bandit army in Jinzhou, killing thousands of enemies and capturing several prisoners. The bandit army had retreated to the north. Now he has sent his troops to Shengjing to await the command of Prince Kang Jie.

Kangxi was overjoyed when he heard that Jie had arrived. He summoned the military ministers and the great scholar Mingzhu to meet him in the south room and asked him about the whereabouts of Zhou Peigong.

Mingzhu replied that the governor of Hubei sent someone to report urgently that Zhou Peigong's whereabouts were unknown.

Kangxi was furious when he heard this, and ordered Mingzhu to send people to spread the notice to all provinces quickly, and he must find Zhou Peigong.

………

He ordered the general, Prince Kang Jie, to arrive in Shengjing on July 21. After arriving in Shengjing, he summoned the six departments of Shengjing, the generals, and the capital for a meeting. Because the imperial edict ordered them not to act rashly, Jie did not dare to lead the troops in the Peking rebellion.

According to the holy will, the troops in the north were reduced to defend Shengjing. In the meantime, Shengjing general An Zhuhu asked Jie to send troops to rescue Jilin Wula, but Jie refused because the imperial edict had not arrived and the enemy's situation was unknown, so he should not hastily refuse.

On the seventh day of the lunar month, Tong Guogang led 5,000 troops from the capital camp to Shengjing. According to the plan, troops from Horqin, Chahar, Kalaqin, Wengniute, and Bahrain were supposed to arrive in Shengjing on the 15th.

After they arrive, it will be the day for the army to go to battle.

It was the third day of August when the news of the fall of Wula in Jilin reached Shengjing. When he heard that Xinzhu had been killed in battle and that Wula had fallen, Prince Kang Jie felt extremely regretful. However, since the matter had come to this, there was no point in regretting it. He urgently sent an order to Fushun general Tongbai to command his troops.

They marched to Yongling to prevent Yongling from being lost. They also adjusted the Yellow Banner Association to lead Lu Hai and led a thousand troops to station in Yongling.

On the sixth day of the lunar month, Fushun urgently reported that the bandit army had arrived at Yongling and was heading towards Fushun. Prince Kang Jie urgently ordered Lu Hai to lead his troops to stop the enemy.

On the seventh day of the lunar month, the scouting horse came to report that Fushun had been lost, and the guard, Tongbai, fled without a fight, and his whereabouts are unknown.

Jie was furious and urgently ordered Shengjing to lead An Zhuhu to the vanguard, a guard and three thousand Shengjing troops to recapture Fushun. An Zhuhu had only been out of the city for thirty miles, so Jie sent people to recall him.

An Zhuhu didn't understand why Prince Kang's orders were inconsistent, so he rushed to Shengjing to ask, but was told that Galdan had gone south from Mobei, Chahar and Horqin tribes reported to the court, and soldiers and horses from Monan had already arrived.

Shengjing. Now Shengjing is facing three enemies and the situation is not good.

On the ninth day of the lunar month, some defeated troops and refugees fled to Shengjing. It was said that Yongling was set on fire by the rebels. Jie, An Zhuhu, Tong Guogang and others were shocked when they heard this and hurriedly sent Ma Bei to investigate.

On the 11th, Kangxi learned that Jilin Wula had been lost. Galdan led 60,000 cavalry south to Monan, intending to join forces with the rebels to attack Shengjing. In desperation, he ordered the Eight Banners Dutong Yamen to recruit men from the Beijing banner.

, a total of 12,000 people were recruited, led by Ezatong, the king of Xin County, to rescue Shengjing.

Gao Shiqi, a great scholar, petitioned to mobilize troops from the Green Camp of Shaanxi and Gansu to come out and quell the chaos, but the court discussion failed.

On the 12th, Prince Kang Jiesheng rushed to Beijing to report that Yongling was burned by thieves. Kangxi heard this and fainted. When he woke up, he beat his chest and wailed, "My ancestors, my ancestors, my grandchildren are unfilial, my grandchildren are unfilial."

"

On that day, the palace sent an order to mobilize 7,300 Eight Banners soldiers from Guangdong, Guangxi, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces to quell the rebellion in Peking.

…………

In Qingyuan, the military tent was crowded with people and loud voices. Flags were flying outside the tent and war horses roared.

After the avant-garde division reunited with the main force, the generals reunited after a long absence. They were filled with emotion and told each other about their parting feelings. After hearing that the avant-garde division had dug up Yongling and burned the entire Yongling mausoleum with fire, the guards, including Zhao Qiang,

The cavalry generals were all shocked.

Hu Wang presented all the treasures taken from Yongling. Eight carts were lined up outside the military tent. They were sparkling under the sunlight. Zhao Qiang also stared blankly. He secretly thought that there were people buried in Yongling.

After receiving so much treasure, Nurhaci and Huang Taiji were really filial.

Zhao Qiang had previously thought about digging the Yongling Mausoleum, but planned to dig it together with the Fuling Tomb and the Zhaoling Mausoleum outside Shengjing City in order to cut off the "dragon vein" of the Manchu Qing Dynasty and warn the world that the power of the Qing Dynasty was exhausted. But he did not think about it forever.

However, the tomb was stolen by Hu Wang and others. Not only did they remove all the treasures, but they also burned it. No matter what, it was like a complete act of tomb robbing.

However, this behavior had no political significance, and was purely for wealth and sexual desire. Therefore, Zhao Qiang was dissatisfied, but after thinking about it again, he had already dug it, so why should he blame these subordinates for this? At that moment, he was relieved and thought about Nurhachi's blessings.

Aren't the Mausoleum and Zhaoling of Huang Taiji still in Shengjing? If we really want to use the method of "cutting the dragon's veins" to attack the Manchus and shock the Han people in the pass, these two mausoleums are enough. Although the Yongling mausoleum is respected, it is far away.

It's not as significant as Fuling and Zhaoling. If it's stolen, it's stolen. What's the big deal?

Seeing a package placed in a large cart, Zhao Qiang was surprised. He ordered someone to fetch it and opened it. He found four skulls and a pile of human remains. He couldn't help but be confused and asked Hu Wang: "Whose bones belong to them?"

Hu Wang hurriedly asked Zhao Guo to point out to the commander who the bones belonged to, but they were all mixed together. How could Zhao Guo tell them apart? He stepped on one of the bones with his foot and said casually: "They are all mixed together."

, I don’t know which one is which. But one thing I can guarantee is that these bones belong to Kangxi’s ancestors and are guaranteed to be genuine!”

Zhao Qiang nodded, not interested in getting rid of these dead people's bones. He raised his hand to signal the guards to take these bones aside. Seeing this, Zhao Guo said: "Commander, the bones of Kangxi's ancestors have also passed by, so it's not interesting.

At the end of the day, let someone take it and burn it on fire! Let him break his bones and spread his ashes!"

Zhao Qiang was noncommittal, and Zhao Guo thought that the commander-in-chief acquiesced, so he asked two guards to carry the cloth bundle and prepare to carry it to be burned.

The guards were about to carry it away when they heard Zhao Qiang say: "Don't burn it. I just remembered that these are treasures. It would be a pity to burn them on fire."

"What does the commander-in-chief mean?" Zhao Guo and the generals asked Zhao Qiang in confusion.

Zhao Qiang smiled slightly and ordered: "Send someone to Shengjing to deliver..." He picked up a skull and weighed it: "Take this skull and tell An Zhuhu that this bone is...it is Tucker

The commander-in-chief is so compassionate that he cannot bear to abandon these bones in the wilderness, so he tells Kangxi that I am waiting for him to bring something to redeem the bones of his ancestors, otherwise, I will make the skulls of the ancestors of his Aixinjueluo family

Turn it into a wine vessel!" Zhao Qiang didn't know that Kangxi had sent Prince Kang Jie and his uncle Tong Guogang out of seclusion. He only knew that the decision in Shengjing was made by General An Zhuhu of Shengjing.

Qi Zhuang laughed loudly while listening, and added: "This thing is too big to be used as a wine vessel, but it is just right to be used as a urinal!"

When the generals heard this, they burst into laughter.
