Of course, because we wanted to find a formation method suitable for the straight-five reform, this process did not go so smoothly.
First of all, we removed one helicopter from the formation, that is, four helicopters formed a team, each helicopter was equipped with weapons and carried a certain number of infantry!
It should be said that it would be more relaxed to use four helicopters to execute this plan... Because one of our formations is used to carry an infantry platoon, and more than 30 soldiers are divided into four helicopters, which means that each helicopter only needs
Carrying seven to eight people, plus we have reduced the soldiers' individual equipment to a certain extent...
This is not very difficult for the soldiers of the special agent company. First of all, the soldiers are not heavy to begin with... This may be because most of them cannot keep up with nutrition during their childhood or have been training hard for a long time... Everyone
They only weigh more than a hundred kilograms, but don't underestimate these more than a hundred kilograms. They are all made of steel and iron.
On this basis, some equipment can be reduced, and the number of people can also be reduced, so the amount of ammunition that the ZWG can carry is also larger.
But the problem is...
Three squads of troops are scattered among four helicopters... How is this a command method?
There are only three squad leaders in total... which means that no matter how they are divided, there will be soldiers on a helicopter who are pieced together from the soldiers of the other three squads. This will cause many problems... such as these pieced together soldiers.
Who will command the soldiers? What should they do if they are separated from the army in an emergency?
At this moment, I suddenly understood... It turns out that the Soviet helicopters, armored vehicles, etc. are usually designed to carry more people in squads. It is convenient for command... Otherwise, no matter what we do,
Training is very likely to cause confusion or slow down reaction time due to the inherent shortcomings of forcibly dividing the organization...and this is intolerable for us, the special agent company that performs special tasks.
Just like what we trained two days ago... When conducting actual combat exercises in this mode, the squad that landed first had members on another helicopter... so it could not effectively perform the mission. They were used to one squad.
There are ten subordinates... If they know that these subordinates have been sacrificed, they can still command, but the problem is that they know that these subordinates have not been sacrificed, but they cannot command! So they have to wait...wait for all of their subordinates to die.
Once everyone is here, proceed to the next step!
We also faced similar problems during the retreat. Each squad had to separate a few people to make up enough people to board another helicopter!
To solve this problem, the staff department came up with a feasible plan... that is to change the number of people in each class and stipulate that each class has eight people...
This plan does seem feasible. There is one squad leader for every eight people... just enough to take a helicopter, and it also solves the command problem.
But the problem is... This has completely changed the original firepower configuration of our army... Our army's previous firepower configuration was four 56-and-a-half guns, two 56-guns, one rocket launcher (primary and secondary shooters), and one for squad use.
Machine guns (primary and secondary machine gunners), so there are exactly ten people.
Of course, our agent company had long ago stopped using the 56 and a half. We even threw aside the 56 punch, and used the ak74, which has much better performance in all aspects...
If we want to reduce the number of ten people to eight... that's not impossible, just reduce the number of ak74s by two!
But this seems like a small action... but it will have a big impact on the firepower of a squad... A squad leader is used to having six submachine guns under his command, and a platoon leader is used to having eighteen submachine guns under his command.
A company commander is used to it... but suddenly he is missing one-third. This may very well lead to a miscalculation on the battlefield... thinking that one's own firepower can completely overwhelm the enemy, but this is not the case.
More importantly...the training of our combined battalion is not just for our unit...if it is just for our unit to fight, then it is okay...let the soldiers practice more and fight more, and it won't take long for them to get used to it.
The firepower in his hand is proportional.
However... we also shoulder another task, which is to provide experience to other troops. Even the Five Reforms sometimes have to cooperate with general infantry units on the battlefield... Could it be that just because of this, millions of our country's troops have to be killed?
All troops were changed to eight people per squad?
This is obviously impossible... Everyone knows that this is a way of cutting off one's feet to fit the shoes.
So in the end I gritted my teeth... and ordered: "The personnel will not be reduced, the infantry organization will remain unchanged... Each helicopter will carry one squad!"
"Yes!" Zhao Jingping responded and quickly gave Scar the order through the walkie-talkie!
Facts have also proved that carrying ten talents per helicopter is the most ideal way of coordination... Although this will slightly exceed the load capacity of the helicopter... The load capacity of each helicopter is about 1,350 kilograms. It exceeds the load capacity of the helicopter.
More than one hundred kilograms.
This makes the helicopter look a bit clumsy... This more than 100 kilograms is really nothing compared to the Soviet Mi-8 or Mi-24, but the power of the straight-five engine is only 1770 horsepower... This more than 100 kilograms of super
The load has a considerable impact on such a low-power helicopter!
But I think this sacrifice is necessary...
On the one hand, it is because the flexibility of the helicopter has been sacrificed, but the command and coordination have been simplified to a certain extent. This in itself is a kind of giving up the small and choosing the big!
On the other hand... it's because I think the load capacity of a helicopter is variable... The helicopter is inflexible due to overloading, and most of this time it's on the way to the destination. At this time, it has to face the possibility of enemy sneak attacks.
Not big. After arriving at the battlefield...the helicopter can completely reduce its weight by abandoning the auxiliary fuel tank or launching a batch of ammunition in the shortest time...This is in line with our combat policy of quick attack and quick retreat, not to mention...
...Once the infantry is successfully put on the ground, the problem of the helicopter being overweight will disappear!
So we went through several live-fire drills... This kind of training must be a live-fire drill, but the live ammunition was only carried by the helicopter, in order to "care about" the weight of the helicopter.
The method of the drill... is that after a few helicopters arrive at the destination... no matter what, just a few rockets and a row of machine guns from a distance!
The main purpose of this is not to destroy any target, but to consume some ammunition to make the helicopter more flexible, and at the same time, it can also pose a powerful psychological threat to the enemy!
Then several helicopter formations covered each other for the rope descent...two formations with a total of six helicopters served as cover missions, and three helicopters from one formation performed the rope descent and quickly cleared a safe area on the ground, followed by the other two formations.
Alternate rappelling…
Of course, this is just a regular combat exercise... If this were actual combat, I think many times we would have to sneak close to the target to launch a surprise attack. How could there be rockets and machine guns at a distance like now?
...This is telling the enemy that we are coming, so be prepared!
After the formation of three helicopters was decided...a variety of rappelling training began, including highland rappelling, jungle rappelling, night rappelling, etc...
Among them, the rappelling subject in the dark is the most trained... Needless to say, the reason is that in the past special operations against the Vietnamese army... we basically could only camouflage and walk through the enemy's defense zone... but now there are
We have a helicopter, which provides us with great convenience in passing through the enemy's defense zone!
For example... if you fire a few rounds of artillery anywhere on the border, the sound of the artillery can well cover up the sound of helicopters flying over at high altitude. In other words... In the past, we had to risk passing through minefields and risking being overrun.
The army was discovered and was in danger of being wiped out when it passed through the enemy's defense area. At this time, it only needed to fire a round of artillery shells... and it could do so without leaving any trace!
Of course, the helicopter may still be detected by the enemy when it enters the depths of Vietnam... After all, the helicopter's unique propeller sound is easy to distinguish, and the Vietnamese are fed up with the suffering of US military helicopters... During the US-Vietnam War, the United States
Helicopters are used in large quantities in Vietnam, so Vietnamese people are very sensitive to this sound!
But I'm not worried about this...
On the one hand, it is because of the deployment of Vietnam's troops...The fact that Vietnam's troops are empty cannot be changed, which means that the vast majority of their regular troops are distributed along the Sino-Vietnam border, but they are very empty internally...just like Scar said
, like an egg, it looks hard on the outside...it's empty inside when you break the shell!
Therefore, as long as we can successfully break through the Vietnamese army's border defense line... it can be said that there are loopholes everywhere. Even if someone hears this abnormal sound, they will not be able to convey the news to the top in time... Irregular troops
, the communication equipment is very limited, and telephones are not widely available, where can we report it? By the time they find some way to report the news... I'm afraid we have all completed our tasks and are on our way back!
On the other hand, it is because of the inherent advantages of helicopter combat... The helicopter takes the infantry in a large circle in the air. The direction can be changed at any time, and it only takes two minutes to put the infantry down. Any point the helicopter passes may be a landing
Point...that is to say, the enemy has no way of knowing our attack target, so naturally there is no way to defend against it!
Of course...the basis for these advantages is-dark night!
Only at night do we have such a unique innate advantage. Otherwise, every move of our helicopters will be under the eyes of the Vietnamese people or guerrillas. No matter where the infantry rappels, they will be able to grasp it first, and they will even be overrun.
Army guerrilla workers or militiamen are entangled... (To be continued...)
