Chapter 27 Main Peak (2)

Although there was a huge disparity in the strength of the enemy and ourselves, the commando led by Scar still fought a beautiful battle of annihilation on the main peak.

This is the characteristic of modern warfare. If this is the era of cold weapons, even if these thirty or so people are prepared or not, it will be difficult to annihilate enemies five or six times more than themselves. The reason is very simple.

The enemy will know when the battle begins, that is, after killing a group of enemies, the remaining enemies will react and organize a defense.

But modern warfare is different. Now we have automatic rifles, machine guns, rocket launchers and other equipment in our hands. As long as these thirty soldiers are arranged properly, the battle will be over within a few minutes before the enemy can react.

This is not a strange thing, even if the enemy is a higher-quality Vietnamese army.

In fact, their quality no longer played any role in this kind of sneak attack, because their quality didn't even have time to be used, and they died in their sleep one by one.

I didn't see the scene, but according to Scar's subsequent description...

They first killed the silent sentries of the Vietnamese army. This is what the soldiers of the synthetic battalion, especially the special agent company, often do. Their advisers are people like Chen Yiyi and Chen Qiaoqiao. After several years of training, although they have not yet

To reach the level like the Chen sisters, but for dealing with

Under normal circumstances, there is not much problem with the Vietnamese army's sentry. What's more, the Vietnamese army did not expect that the main summit would be attacked by the enemy without warning, so the alertness of the sentry was not very high, and it was even supposed to be

It was the Vietnamese sentry on the covert post who was still smoking and chatting with the open post.

They were undoubtedly looking for death. Scar and Li Zuolong quietly dispersed and then divided into several directions to act at the same time. They eliminated the sentries in three or two strokes.

The reason why it is divided into several directions is that the sentries of the Vietnamese army are often in contact with each other. Some sentries can see each other. Sometimes these sentries are even equipped with walkie-talkies for timely communication. For this

We call this sentry method "serial sentry", that is, as long as there is a problem with the sentry at one position, it won't take long for the sentry at other positions to know that there is a problem.

There is only one way to crack this kind of whistle, and that is for several people to cooperate with each other to solve them at the same time.

Of course, accidents are likely to occur when clearing sentries... The battlefield is inherently a place full of surprises, and no matter how well-trained you are, there is no guarantee that you will be able to deal with these sentries without alerting the enemy.

Scar also knows this very well, so Scar has been prepared from the beginning. It would be best if he could not alert the enemy. Once the enemy is alerted, he will use Plan B to immediately launch a strong attack.

This is why Scar wants to allocate manpower to different directions. The thirty or so people are divided into six groups of five people each. In other words, a class is divided into two groups, commanded by the squad leader and squad deputy respectively, in an arc shape.

Surround the Vietnamese army's position.

However, in the end this plan B was not used. As mentioned before, the Vietnamese army did not have many sentries and their vigilance was not strong, so the clearance work went smoothly.

In fact, fortunately, it was not necessary to implement Plan B. The reason is that until this time, Scar thought that the Vietnamese army was only about a platoon, so the plan was also to attack a platoon of Vietnamese troops.

It wasn't until Scar and others sneaked into the Vietnamese army's position at a low profile and seized the commanding heights and favorable terrain that they were startled by the sight in front of them: deep in the Vietnamese army's position, on one side of the reverse slope, there were rows of tents.

There are dozens of them. If we calculate that there are two or three people living in each tent... This is the camping habit of the Vietnamese army. It is mainly due to the terrain restrictions in Vietnam.

It is difficult to find flat land where large tents can be set up in highlands like the South. Therefore, the Vietnamese army often uses small single-person tents. And because the Vietnamese Japanese are relatively poor, small single-person tents often require two to three Vietnamese soldiers.

The soldiers were crowded together inside. If they couldn't squeeze in, some soldiers would sit inside, sleep with their guns in hand, or simply find a place to lie down outside the tent.

So based on a rough estimate, there were about one company of Vietnamese troops in the tent area alone.

Fortunately, Scar is calm in times of crisis, which is why I chose him as the commander of the special agent company and the full authority to command this operation. He is one of the few soldiers under my command who can not only fight but also command, and I am even still with him.

I can see some shadows of me, that is, he will also analyze which tactic is most beneficial to the current situation in a short period of time, and then just go ahead and do it regardless of the rules.

For example, right now, Scar encountered this unexpected situation and did not lose his position. If someone else was directing this battle, he would probably have to report to me via radio and let me make the decision.

But Scar did not do this. He quickly judged that they had only one way to fight in the current situation, and they must annihilate the Vietnamese army and occupy the main peak.

The reason is very simple. They airborne here. It can almost be said that they are deep into the enemy's defense line. If they do not occupy the main peak, then they will have only one end... being chased by the Vietnamese army in a jungle they are not familiar with.

, the encirclement may even lead to the same fate as those platoons of the first battalion, becoming a bait for the enemy to encircle the point and seek reinforcements.

So Scar made a prompt decision and immediately changed the battle plan and rearranged the firepower. Most of the firepower was concentrated above the Vietnamese army's tent area. As for the original target, which was the original troops stationed on the main peak, Li Zuolong was sent to lead it.

A few soldiers went to conduct another sneak attack.

Of course, it would be difficult for this sneak attack to be silent. After all, Li Zuolong only had five soldiers, which was just one group. This group had to be divided into two parts, one part to deal with two Vietnamese field troops.

squad, and another unit to deal with the Vietnamese artillery reconnaissance group. If this situation can be solved silently, it can basically be called a fairy.

In fact, Scar never planned to do this from the beginning. Their method was grenades, explosive packs and submachine guns.

The artillery observer's reconnaissance post was made of cement, so they stuffed it with explosive packets. With a "bang", whatever was inside would probably be gone.

For the few wooden houses where the Vietnamese army was originally stationed, they used grenades and submachine guns. The reason why they did not use explosive packs was because they were worried that the explosive packs would be too powerful and the exploding wood fragments would accidentally injure nearby people.

From this we can also see how arrogant the Vietnamese army is. They even built wooden houses to live on the main peak of Koulin Mountain. When we were stationed on the front line, we still lived in Maoerdong.

But this doesn’t seem surprising. The Vietnamese army has occupied Koulin Mountain for a long time. It has been nearly three years since 1979. There has been no fighting in this month, two months without fighting, and three months.

Four months later...the Vietnamese army thought nothing would happen

It was so dangerous, not to mention there were several positions ahead, so I came out of the Maoer Cave and built a few wooden houses to live in. Although the wooden houses were not that good, they were still much better than the Maoer Cave.

I just didn't expect that this wooden house would now become their burial place.

Almost at the same time as the explosions in these two places sounded, the main force led by Scar also started fighting. The first batch thrown down were a lot of grenades and tear gas.

Tear gas was of course inspired by the training of the armed police company. Generally speaking, this thing is used to deal with criminals because it is not fatal but can temporarily make the enemy lose the ability to resist.

This thing is rarely used on the battlefield. In battlefield battles, it's all about being as ruthless as possible. What we want is lethality. But that doesn't mean that this thing is useless on the battlefield, because it also has a function that ordinary grenades cannot do.

The advantage is the continuity of damage.

Ordinary grenades do pose a threat to the enemy when they explode after being thrown out, but after the explosion there is nothing but smoke. At this time, soldiers often cannot continue to throw grenades because they have to shoot with guns.

Tear gas is different. After it explodes, it releases tear gas. This gas is difficult to dissipate in a humid environment like Vietnam, which means it can last for a long time.

And when the Japanese Japs below were stimulated by the tear gas to the point where they had runny noses and tears... Under the stimulation of this gas, it was difficult to open their eyes no matter how strong their perseverance was. My agent company and I were training

We have tried this thing, mainly because we want to know whether this thing can really work on the battlefield. On the other hand, we also consider that if one day we are also attacked by this weapon, it will not be a bit psychological.

Not even prepared.

So a few times during training, we deliberately detonated several tear gas canisters and exposed ourselves to the tear gas. The feeling was really uncomfortable. Tears and snot flowed down completely uncontrollably. My eyes were so painful that I couldn't open them at all. Inhaling even a little bit

A bit of gas can cause a violent cough.

After training like this several times, we came to two conclusions. First, tear gas has practical value in certain situations on the battlefield. Second, once attacked by tear gas, do not try to open your eyes to observe, but rely on instinct.

Rely on hearing judgment and make appropriate responses. It is best to temporarily escape from the coverage of tear gas to avoid it, because the poisoning symptoms will disappear on their own within 5 to 15 minutes as long as you leave the toxic area.

Of course, the Vietnamese in front of Scar had no such experience, so when they were attacked by tear gas, they immediately became confused like ants on a hot pot.

Scar recalled this after the war: "This was the first time we used tear gas. Because we didn't know much about the performance and effects of tear gas, many soldiers still believed in hand grenades, so not many tear gas was thrown out.

There were only a dozen of them. But the effect was much better than imagined... Of course, this was different from the fact that the location where the Yue Japanese camped was in the lee and at a low valley.

It is true that the ground is related to the ground. Artillery shells cannot hit such a place. But once tear gas canisters are thrown in, it will be difficult for the tear gas gas to disperse. Therefore, throughout the whole battle, the Japanese have almost no ability to resist. What they can do

They were shouting, yelling, and shooting randomly below, and I even believe that more people died under their own guns than we did!" (To be continued...)
