One hundred and twentieth-fourth gun sight radar

Although it is a pity that I was unable to participate in this operation, I still easily learned about the process and details of the entire battle at the Kent command center. It is not an exaggeration to say that I personally participated in it, because it is not an exaggeration to say that I have participated in it.

Some of the steps were decided after discussion with Lieutenant Colonel Kent...

For example, the problem of how sas can be maneuvered to the island of Pepur is not an easy task...

Originally, we thought it was very simple. It was enough to fly directly to Pepur Island with several teams of people to airdrop, but the fact was not the case.

First of all, there are a large number of radar stations on Pepur Island. You should know that there are a total of six radar stations on the island.

The purpose of Argentina to arrange six radar stations on this 88 square kilometers island is obvious, so that if the British army intends to land in San Carlos, these six radar stations can observe the British fleet on the sea from a distance or

If it is an aircraft, the attack aircraft on its island can respond accordingly and make the Argentine troops in the Port of San Carlos sound an alarm.

This means that SAS's helicopter is likely to be discovered by the island's radar, so SAS's combat intention will be exposed.

This problem is not difficult to solve, it is to allow the helicopter to cross the entire island from the other side of the island of Mahara from the back to the island of Perpur.

We believe that the key monitoring directions of the six radar stations on Pepur Island are all at sea... The British army is a special mixed fleet, so you don't have to think about this, so they never dreamed that the enemy would go from the side of the Horse Island.

They are close. In addition, there are Argentina's own transport aircraft, helicopters and attack aircraft on the island of Mahara, so even if the radar station monitors the sas helicopters, they will not doubt anything.

The second is the safety of airdrops.

We don't know where the island of Perpur is safe... This mission cannot be completed with a reconnaissance aircraft. On the one hand, it is because the reconnaissance aircraft is not effective at night. On the other hand, it is because the reconnaissance aircraft cannot detect, for example,

Dangers such as minefields or hidden whistles lurking in the snow.

This will lead to a problem. What if the main sas force airborne or plane lands but finds itself landing in a minefield, the enemy's encirclement or the enemy's just airborne is discovered?

There is no better way. It is only necessary to send an advance force to reconnaise and open up a suitable landing point.

This advance unit is an eight-man team led by Angus. They will take a helicopter to Pepur Island. And in order not to expose their target, they first landed on the main island of the West of the Cabernet Island, and then took a rubber boat to dive.

To Pepur Island.

The island of Pepur and the main island of the West of the Cabernet Island are only separated by a strait 700 meters wide, which does not seem to be difficult for them.

But this thing that seemed not difficult to do, stumped the advance team... When they arrived at the strait and prepared to cross the river, the weather suddenly changed and it was a strong wind. The wind suddenly swelled in the strait.

The rubber boat had no way to resist these winds and waves. So the action had to be suspended, and the eight advance team members could only hide in the rock cave by the sea to wait for the opportunity.

This is undoubtedly a test for the advance troops, because they must wait patiently in the cave for a day and a night until it is dark the next night before they can take action again.

Of course, if the wind and waves are still not suitable for crossing the river the next day, then the action will be delayed.

This delay seems to be no big deal, but I have lurked on the Vietnam battlefield and know that it is not easy. The reason is that the place where they lurks is the island of Mahara, which is the territory of the Argentine... Especially on the beach, Argentina

In order to prevent the infiltration of British scouts, soldiers often sent troops or even helicopters to patrol and search the seaside.

So it goes without saying that these sas players hiding in the cave are going to starve and freeze. If Argentina finds any clues... it can be said that no one can save them.

"Angus has good military qualities and command capabilities!" Lieutenant Colonel Kent casually handed me a cup of coffee and said, "So I believe he can complete this task well, but he doesn't seem to have much.

Tolerate people!”

Lieutenant Colonel Kent smiled and continued, "For example, he never admits losing to you!"

"As Angus said!" I said, "We rely more on luck!"

"No! The battlefield never requires luck!" Kent replied: "We don't believe in luck either. We only believe in quality, equipment, coordination in all aspects, and careful planning!"

It should be said that Kent's statement is correct, because if luck is only based on, then the sas troops will probably not be able to survive until now.

"Col. I want to tell you good news!" Kent continued: "I just talked to Brigadier General Clap on the phone. From him, I know that the British government seems to be interested in providing you with some urgent needs in order to express its gratitude to you.

Weapons or military technology!”

"Is this true?" I couldn't help but stand up from the chair when I heard this.

You should know what China lacks the most at this time, and what it lacks the most is weapons and technology, but now Britain will provide us with help... that is naturally a big deal.

But then again, it is beneficial for them to provide us with these help, such as selling weapons or technology will bring economic benefits, and indirect benefits in the confrontation with the Soviet Union, so they are just taking advantage of the situation now.

At this time, I just made a favor.

"Although it has not been confirmed, I think it is very likely that this matter is true!" said Lieutenant Colonel Kent. "After all, you can almost say that you gave us extremely important things at our most difficult time, or even said that

Suggestions that can play a decisive role. We dare not imagine what the war will end without your suggestions! So it is also necessary to provide your country with some equipment and military technology, and we are also allies.

What should be done!"

"That's great!" I couldn't help but feel happy.

You should know that after such a long period of tempering on the battlefield, I have already practiced the skill of not changing my face without changing my face, but now I can't calm down.

"So Brigade Clap will ask you to consider which equipment you need, I personally recommend..." Kent spread his hands around: "You may be able to form a special forces, I think this will be quite tempting for you.

!”

I have to say that things are indeed as Lieutenant Colonel Kent said. Although we already have a special forces, we often feel that we are not equipped in terms of equipment, such as helicopters, laser equipment, etc.

But when I thought about it, I felt that these things were not urgently needed by our army, such as helicopters... The air force is rarely used in the battlefield of Vietnam, and our 5th modification is almost enough. Even Vietnam uses the US and Vietnamese side.

When old American helicopters are basically not posing any threat to us.

Besides, if we want a helicopter, we should ask the Americans for it. The Americans' Black Hawk is much more useful than the British Bobcats.

So what can the British give us?

What is our troops in urgent need?!

If this person is anxious, his mind will be blank. When he is fighting, he knows that this is insufficient and that is lacking, but now he can make the conditions but can't remember anything.

"Col. Can you think slowly!" Kent couldn't help but smile as he looked at me, "We just want to know your big wishes, so that we can prepare..."

At this moment, I couldn't help but flashed my inspiration and said, "Bombing Radar!"

"Well? Cannon-aided radar?" Kent's eyes flashed with a strange look when he heard this: "Col. Don't you want equipment related to the special forces?"

"No!" I shook my head: "It's the gun aiming radar, if what I said can count!"

"Of course it counts!" Kent replied: "A large part of the reason we are willing to provide equipment is to thank you for your advice!"

"Then let's aim the radar!" I answered affirmatively again.

The reason I made this decision was because I knew clearly the significance of artillery radar to our army.

You should know that the main battle on the Sino-Vietnam border at this time was artillery battle... The air force did not participate in the war, and the ground combat was in a stalemate, so both sides only used artillery to and from time to time.

Although our army had powerful artillery in this era, it still used manual calculation of coordinates, that is, occupying commanding heights to establish artillery observation stations, and then calculating coordinates from a high point and guiding artillery fire to bomb.

This artillery battle method is undoubtedly very backward and extremely low efficiency. If there is a gun-aided radar, it will be completely different... It is said that this thing can calculate the artillery position when the enemy's shells just fired the barrel.

The second enemy shell has not yet been fired, and the shell we counterattack has covered the enemy's artillery positions.

There is no doubt that this will give our artillery an absolute advantage.

Of course, in history, Britain did sell gun navigation radars to our country, but that happened a few years later.

If I could advance my country's time to equipped gun navigation radar a few years ago, I don't know how many soldiers' lives could be saved and how much advantage it would bring to our army's combat.

"Yeah!" Lieutenant Colonel Kent nodded and said, "I will report your meaning to the general truthfully, but it is not something I can decide whether it can be realized in the end!"

"I understand!" I nodded.

"Lieutenant Colonel!" At this time, the correspondent wearing headphones on his head reported to us: "The second lieutenant reported that the wind in the strait was weakened but the waves were not small. The second lieutenant planned to risk crossing the river!"

"Well!" Lieutenant Colonel Kent and I stood up and walked towards the command room.

The battle against the radar station and airport on Pepur Island is about to open soon. (To be continued...)
