Chapter 153 Artillery Aiming Radar

After returning to the base, I immediately found Wu Dengxiong, the battalion commander of the artillery battalion.{3w.

"Battery Commander, is there another unit that needs our artillery training?" Wu Dengxiong saluted me, then took off his hat and threw it on the table, looking unwilling.

Seeing him like this, Zhao Jingping was a little unhappy and immediately shouted: "Why are you talking to the battalion commander like this? What does it mean that there are troops that need artillery training? The training tasks of your artillery troops are very heavy?!"

"How can it be heavy?" Wu Dengxiong was so angry that he heard Zhao Jingping's words. He lowered his head and complained: "Battery Commander, Chief of Staff, our artillery is idle! He agreed to join the synthetic battalion training, we

Most people come for a war, but who would have thought…”

"Who thought of what?" I asked.

"Battery Commander!" Wu Dengxiong stepped forward and replied: "I don't have any objections to you, but you have to consider our feelings. What have our artillery done since we came to this synthetic battalion? It's not about training other troops to observe coordinates.

Even if we participate in the exercise, we have never been our turn to fight the Japanese on the battlefield... we are so nervous!"

Upon hearing this, Zhao Jingping and I couldn't help but look at each other and laughed. It turned out that Wu Dengxiong could not stay idle.

"Battalion Commander!" Wu Dengxiong continued: "If this is a tank force, there is nothing to say. There are not many places in the entire southern Xinjiang that can use tanks. Most of the tank soldiers in the country are idle, so the tank soldiers in our synthetic battalion are idle.

It's not surprising. But our artillery is different. The artillery fights back and forth happily on the battlefield. Last holiday, I got together with a few comrades. They all fought several battles in turn. But that's it.

The artillery in our synthetic battalion has nothing to do... No. I'm wrong with this. We have something to do. Let's be the instructors and teach other troops to observe the coordinates and watch them go to the battlefield!"

I couldn't help but feel funny when I heard this, but what Wu Dengxiong said was really true, so there is no need to say more about the reason. On the one hand, the tasks performed by the Synthetic Battalion since its establishment have fewer demands for artillery, and it is occasionally used for convenience.

The only way to maneuver the artillery force is to force the artillery force.

On the other hand, even if the synthetic battalion needs to use long-range artillery fire on the front line... it is enough to just say a word to the commander on the front line. If it is not very necessary, it does not need to transfer the artillery battalion under the synthetic battalion from Beijing.

.

Of course, there were still several battles among the artillery battalions. When we recovered the Faka Mountain, we transferred some artillery battalions backbones to assist in command in order to be able to closely coordinate the infantry and artillery.

But the number of people participating in the war and the frequency of participating in the war is undoubtedly too small as Wu Dengxiong said, and even ordinary artillerymen cannot compare to.

"Sit, sit!" Zhao Jingping smiled and called Wu Dengxiong to sit down, saying, "There is a saying that raising soldiers for a thousand days and using troops for a moment..."

"What does it mean to raise soldiers for a thousand days and use them for a while!" Wu Dengxiong replied impatiently: "When will we raise this? If we continue to raise them, we artillery soldiers will become moldy!"

"Is it moldy?" I said with a look of disappointment: "That's a pity. I just wanted to assign tasks to you?"

"What?" Wu Dengxiong couldn't help but jumped up from the stool after hearing this. He was stunned for a while before he asked with a stuttering question: "I said battalion... battalion commander. I heard it right, is there a mission?"

"Yes!" I looked helpless: "The superior just gave us a task. It's a pity that you are all moldy..."

"No...how can it be!" Wu Dengxiong couldn't help but be anxious: "Battery Commander, don't listen to the silly words I just said. Our training has not been lost for a day. Staff Zhao is right, raise a thousand soldiers.

We are raising troops every day for a while, not moldy!"

Seeing Wu Dengxiong's anxious look, Zhao Jingping and I couldn't help laughing.

Zhao Jingping patted Wu Dengxiong's shoulder and smiled: "Don't worry, Battalion Commander Wu, the mission is yours, I can't escape!"

"Hey!" Wu Dengxiong nodded, and asked with a eager expression, "Battery Commander, give an order, where to hit? How to hit?"

"You still say that wind is rain!" I replied, "Don't worry, we have the initiative in this mission, that is, we have enough time, and we will train at the beginning!"

"What? It's training again?" Wu Dengxiong opposed: "Battery Commander, we have trained for a long time. If we don't talk about bragging, we can do whatever task we have!"

"Is that true?" I asked back.

"Of course!" Wu Dengxiong responded confidently.

"What if you let you attack the enemy's artillery position accurately?" I asked: "And it also requires that the enemy's artillery position be able to determine the position within twelve seconds after the enemy fires the artillery position, and the error is required to be within forty meters. It can be done

Is it?"

Hearing my words, Wu Dengxiong was stunned: "Battery Commander, this requirement is too high! You can judge the enemy's artillery position within twelve seconds, and the error is still within forty meters... If you have this skill, then you

Do Japanese artillery soldiers still need to fight? They surrendered directly and fell down!"

"You're wrong!" I smiled and said, "It's true!"

Wu Dengxiong shook his head and smiled, "It's impossible, let me fool you! If anyone has this skill, I will take it as my teacher without saying a word!"

"Is this what you said?" I said, "One word is certain!"

"A real man keeps his word!" Wu Dengxiong slapped his chest and said, "I, Wu Dengxiong, don't believe this evil!"

"That's what!" I handed Wu Dengxiong the information about the cannon-aid radar.

Wu Dengxiong didn't agree at first, but when he opened the cover, he looked at a few lines of words and opened his mouth wide for a long time but couldn't close it.

"Battery Commander!" Wu Dengxiong asked in disbelief as he looked: "Is this thing... it's true?"

"Of course it's true!" I said: "This is the Himberlin gun aiming radar we just imported from the UK, and there are only two in the country!"

"This...is there's such a good thing?!" Wu Dengxiong became more and more excited as he looked at it: "In twelve seconds, the position of the enemy's artillery can be calculated based on the cannonball trajectory, and he can track twenty targets at the same time..."

Wu Dengxiong's performance is completely as expected. You should know that the most difficult thing in artillery combat is not how to operate the artillery and fire it. As long as you practice more during daily training, you will naturally make perfect. Of course, it is not an accurate hit to the target.

Hitting the target is actually a problem of mathematical calculations and the correct guidance of artillery observers.

The real difficulty is how to accurately know the enemy's artillery position.

If we follow our existing method, there are only three situations:

The first one is more accurate and of course the most dangerous. That is, as we see on TV and movies, we send a team of scouts deep into the enemy's hinterland, reconnaissance the exact position of the enemy's artillery position before guiding our artillery fire, as we see on TV and movies.

Implement firepower coverage.

The second type is relatively low in accuracy but is most commonly used, which is to set up artillery observation centers at high places.

As the saying goes, as the higher the position, the farther you can observe. When the artillery observer observes the enemy artillery fire, he calculates the coordinates of the enemy artillery position as fast as possible and guides our artillery.

Open fire.

This is why both the enemy and us often engage in a life-and-death war around a high ground with the highest elevation on the battlefield in the southern Xinjiang region.

The third type is to rely entirely on speculation. For example, if you suspect that an enemy artillery may be hidden in a certain position, you can fire a cannon and try it.

But no matter which method is mentioned above, it is very difficult for the artillery troops.

Needless to say, the first method is more precise, but it comes at the cost of the life of the scout. Even after paying the life of the scout, it may not be able to gain something, which means that this is a small sigh

The lead incident is not universal. When a war begins, we cannot say that we can pause for a while before the scouts infiltrate and reconnaise the enemy artillery positions before continuing to fight.

The second method also has the same problem, and it can even be said that... the enemy and us did not hesitate to pay the lives of hundreds or even more soldiers in order to compete for an ideal artillery observation position.

This is understandable, because once this position falls into the hands of the enemy, your artillery will be passive, which may cause greater casualties and may even force your side to withdraw from this area.

Needless to say, the third method... This method may be applicable to the US military with a lot of money. For our poor and careless country, if you guess correctly, you will be rewarded. If you guess wrong, you will be punished!

But now with this gun aiming radar, all problems have been solved.

We don’t have to let the scouts risk their lives to go deep into the enemy’s territory for reconnaissance, nor do we have to consume a lot of troops to compete with the enemy for the artillery observation station. Of course, if it is a battle for territory, it is necessary. We don’t have to bother to guess where the enemy’s artillery position is.

Location.

All we need to do is wait.

Wait for the enemy to fire.

Once the enemy fires, the artillery radar can immediately calculate the location of its artillery position, and then it is time for the Vietnamese artillery to suffer.

"This mission is like this." I took a sip of tea and continued: "The superior wants to know the actual performance of this thing, so I plan to let us try it on the battlefield. This is what I just mentioned about training,

We have to get familiar with it before going to the battlefield! But if you don’t want to train... then I’ll find someone else!”

"No..." Wu Dengxiong hurriedly replied: "Battery Commander, can't I be wrong?! With this thing, we will become a fucking soldier and general. If we don't want it, then we will become a fool!"

Upon hearing this, Zhao Jingping and I couldn't help laughing. Wu Dengxiong is also an honest person. Today, we were so funny that we turned against each other faster than turning a book.

But he was right. With the artillery radar, the artillery troops will become heavenly soldiers and generals, and the artillery soldiers of the Vietnamese Japanese... To be precise, the Vietnamese army, including infantry, should be in trouble.

Now! (To be continued...)
