52. I won’t treat you badly

After hanging up the phone, Pei Xiao went to the bathroom and realized that her eyes were swollen from crying. She poured a handful of cold water on her face and looked at herself in the mirror. She thought she wouldn't be sad, at least not like this.

pain.

Half an hour later, Gu Nanshun got out of the taxi and sat down opposite her.

"Have you been up all night?" I remembered what she said when she left in a hurry last night, "There is something going on at home." I couldn't help but ask, "Has the matter at home been resolved? If you need help, just ask."

Pei Xiao buried his face in his palms, and after a while, he said, "I need a sum of money and...a house."

Gu Nanshun glanced at her and took out the contract from his bag: "If you sign now, you can get the signing bonus right away. I will accompany you to see the house."

Pei Xiao took the contract and turned to the last page to sign his name without even looking at it.

Gu Nanshun stared at her in confusion. She closed her pen and asked, "What's wrong?"

He shook his head and didn't ask after all. He just checked the contract and said, "Give me your bank card number. I'll call the company and ask the accountant to transfer the money as soon as possible."

She tugged her lips slightly, but she felt so exhausted that she didn't even bother to say, "Thank you."

In the hotel room, Xi Xiangdong had already woken up, standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, bathing in the morning light, fastening the buttons of his shirt one by one.

"Don't you want to sleep a little longer?" Yang Yunguang turned over and asked him, leaning on his elbows.

"I have to go to work later." His tone was as cold and hard as the line of his jaw.

Yang Yunguang pouted dissatisfiedly: "What about me?"

He turned around, pulled up the silk quilt that slid to her waist for her, and softened his voice a little: "You can find a program by yourself first, and then we can have dinner together at noon."

Only then did Yang Yunguang become happy and coquettishly hooked his neck: "Then I'll go to your house and wait for you."

He suddenly thought of Pei Xiao at home, and instinctively grimaced: "No."

The atmosphere suddenly turned cold, and Yang Yunguang looked at him in surprise.

Xi Xiangdong pulled her arm away, stood up and picked up the bedside phone: "Drive to the Huating Hotel, I'll be down in ten minutes."

"It's so heartless." Yang Yunguang got out of bed naked, with her weak and boneless body clinging to his waist, "I worked so hard last night, and now..."

Xi Xiangdong stood still and looked back at her: "Don't worry, I won't treat you badly."

"Xiangdong..." Yang Yunguang's heart moved. Just as he was about to say some tender and sweet words, Xi Xiangdong had already pulled away.

"If you're tired, just sleep a little longer. If you need anything, call Secretary Lin."

When Xi Xiangdong walked out of the hotel, the driver had already opened the door and was waiting for him.

He got into the car, and the driver glanced at him in the rearview mirror, as if he was hesitant to speak.

"If you have anything to say, just say it." He closed his eyes and leaned back in his seat.

The driver hesitated: "Miss Pei... didn't you come down with you?"

He suddenly opened his eyes: "Pei Xiao has been here?"

"Yes, you were too drunk last night and refused to go home, so I had to call Miss Pei to persuade you. Didn't you see her?"

Xi Xiangdong remained silent, his expression frighteningly dark.

The driver felt that he had said the wrong thing, so he kept silent and concentrated on driving.

Xi Xiangdong was restless all morning, and even made frequent mistakes in his speeches at meetings. Seeing that he was not in a good mood, Secretary Lin made him a cup of coffee and asked, "How about you go back and rest first?"

"No need," he said, then suddenly changed his mind: "That's fine. Just postpone the afternoon schedule."
