48. Taoist practices

The Taoist priest had just drunk, staggered past the gate of the Chu family, and caught a glimpse of the list of heroes. His drunken eyes were hazy, and he could not see clearly the other characters on the list, but he recognized the characters "a piece of gold".

The Taoist priest thought that all he had to do was pretend to be a trick and get the money. As for the monsters, he didn't care about them.

The master of the Chu family was extremely polite to the Taoist priest. He invited him to sit down, poured the best tea, and prepared several cakes made by Yangzhou chefs.

The Taoist priest couldn't help but feel proud. He raised his nose and said: "The practice requires a lot of things. I heard that the monsters in the house are very powerful, and the poor Taoist needs some precious magic weapons."

"It doesn't matter what the Taoist priest needs. As long as it can be bought in Jimo City, I will definitely find it for the Taoist priest." Mr. Chu said.

"Very good, very good!" the Taoist said happily, stroking his beard.

After drinking tea, the Taoist priest made a list, which included red candles from Jimo East Street, cinnabar and sulfur from the West Market, some oil-paper umbrellas, black dog blood, white chicken blood, brass bells, paper money and other items, and even some items on the list.

Listed are Taoist robes, Taoist crowns, whisks and other miscellaneous things.

The Taoist priest planned to hack the Chu family once, and these foreign objects were not included in the bounty, which was equivalent to extra blackmail.

After writing it, grandma collected the list and sent someone to sort it out.

Grandma looked over and saw a slight change on her face.

At her age, she could read people very accurately. This Taoist priest was glib and talkative as soon as he entered the Chu family. Grandma concluded that he was definitely not a good person and was probably taking the opportunity to defraud money.

She originally wanted to test the Taoist priest, but when she saw the expectation written on the faces of the master and his wife, she couldn't bear to dash their hopes.

The Chu family really needs some positive emotions now, and regardless of whether this Taoist priest can exorcise ghosts, his arrival will undoubtedly give the Chu family a reassurance.

In accordance with the master's request, grandma arranged for the Taoist priest to rest in the best guest room of the Chu family, and provided two maids to serve him. He entertained him with good wine and good food.

The time for the practice was set at noon the next day. Taoist priests said that at that time the Yang Qi was at its strongest and the ghosts and monsters were at their weakest.

The Taoist priest drank wine in the evening and mistook the maids who were serving him for the slave girls. He said a few naughty words and was careless. The maids did not dare to offend the Taoist priests and could only endure it with tears.

Fortunately, the Taoist priest was too drunk and fell asleep after a few cups of yellow soup. He did not do anything untoward.

It was the next morning after I fell asleep.

It was almost time to perform the ritual, and the people from the Chu Mansion had also prepared various items and built a platform by the lake for the Taoist priests to cast spells.

Several maids finally got the Taoist priest up and helped him burn incense, bathe and change his clothes. The Taoist priest trimmed his face and tied his hair before putting on a brand new Taoist robe. He really looked like an outsider.

The practice of exorcism was a big deal, and half of the people in the Chu family followed him to the lake, firstly to observe the practice, and secondly to increase the yang energy and encourage each other.

They think that the more people there are, the less demons and ghosts will dare to act arrogantly.

By the time the Taoist priest arrived at the lake, it was almost an auspicious time.

The Master, Madam, Grandma, and Young Master of the Chu family were all seated. Behind them stood a row of six high-ranking maids. Four maids stood on each side of the altar.

Ten strong man servants were standing by the lake, holding swords to prevent monsters in the lake from hurting people.

There are also several other concubines of Mr. Chu sitting scattered in the back row. These women dislike each other and do not want to sit together. They bring their own maids to keep a certain distance.
