168. Strange Visitor

Bai Haitang once again walked on the streets of the county town. The most popular items sold on the streets these days were various incense sticks. Some incense sticks had the words "Golden List Title" written on the packaging.

The exam period is coming soon, and there are many candidates coming to Beijing to take the exam in the county. At this time, family members will burn incense and pray for high school. Although Bai Haitang does not believe in gods and ghosts, she still bought two handfuls of fine incense sticks and went home.

My mother-in-law burned it, but she liked it.

In the afternoon when she returned to the dyeing workshop, someone came in a sedan chair and shouted to buy cloth as soon as she entered. Haitang saw that she was one of the many young ladies who had gathered in the private room in the morning.

Lamei measures the cloth very quickly, and everyone will give an extra half inch to avoid not being enough.

"I will ask the tailor to make a set of clothes like you mentioned tonight." The little lady said this to Haitang after she left.

"Thank you, madam, for your favor. Welcome to come often, there will be new colors every month." Bai Haitang sent her a smile.

"What did she say?" Lamei asked curiously.

"Said he would come again." Haitang replied.

"Then why are you still talking about it in your ears? It's not shameful." Lamei asked.

"Little girl, go and dye the cloth quickly. You have a lot of ideas after going to a brothel."

"Oh, okay."

In the past few days, there are always some scattered young ladies coming here to buy cloth, and they bought a lot of each color. Haitang also had an impression when she saw it, they were all from the party that day.

This morning, an unfamiliar face appeared in Haitang Dyeing Workshop.

She is also a young woman, in her twenties, and her hairpins and various flower arrangements have already taken up her head. Haitang estimated that together they weighed in at five or six pounds.

To say it looks good is not enough, but it does show off the person's worth. It's from a wealthy family.

The visitor is a guest, and you should not refuse to receive him just because he is a stranger. Maybe he was introduced by one of those young ladies, so let Lamei receive him well.

"What colors do your cloths come in?" the woman asked.

"There are eleven solid colors and six new ice cracks." Lamei showed her the sample fabrics one by one.

"That's a lot..." the woman said.

"Which one does Madam like?" Lamei asked.

"They're all okay. I don't like anything too much. The ice cracks are pretty good, but it's not easy to dye." The woman touched all the cloths, but had no intention of buying them. She just talked to Lamei lightly.

"There are ten copper plates per foot of solid color and fifteen ice cracks. Because the dyeing process is a bit complicated, it is a bit expensive, but it has become the fastest-selling one now. All the ladies in the city like it." Lamei said.

Although the woman's hand was stroking the cloth, her eyes were not on the cloth, but on the things on the shelf next to it.

This is a place for viewing samples. Begonia has already been packed away. Except for the cloth, it is just rags. The other important chemical pigments, dried plants, silkworms and black spiders have been moved to other rooms.

, and locked the door.

That house is right next to the mute girl's room.

"Are there any other colors here?" The woman pointed to the locked room.

"All the colors are here." Lamei felt strange. It was the first time she met such a person.

Haitang has been observing the mute girl in her house.

The woman walked towards the courtyard.

"The sunshine here is so beautiful. Little sister, give me one foot of each of your seventeen colors," the woman said.

"One foot? Madam, one foot is not enough for clothes." Lamei asked.
