21. Let the spring boudoir be tempted

This is the light that a woman shines when she sees beautiful things blooming. Bai Haitang also looked like this when she was shopping. She knew it very well. This red color is transparent but not enchanting, and it is many times more vivid than the crimson color on the third lady's body.

The blue skirt on the eldest lady's body is much inferior to the indigo blue of the sample dress.

The four ladies touched the color and fabric. The shrewd eldest lady dipped her fingers in water and touched it again. She was surprised to find that it had not faded at all.

The fabrics the master brought back were all faded.

"If the ladies need to dye their clothes, I am willing to help them." Bai Haitang said without missing a chance.

"This red is called daughter's red, and this blue is called indigo. If the ladies wear clothes of this color, the skin will be made whiter and more delicate. With the ladies' skillful hands, they can embroider orchids, peonies, and auspicious animals, which will be the icing on the cake.

It complements the beauty of the ladies." Bai Haitang continued.

"You girl, your little mouth looks like honey." The third lady took the skirt and touched it on her body, and she immediately fell in love with the daughter's red. What a beautiful name, daughter's red.

"What's your name? Did you dye this?" the eldest lady also said with great interest.

"To Madam, my name is Bai Haitang. I dyed this and it will not fade. I can demonstrate it to Madam on the spot." Bai Haitang replied.

After receiving permission, Lamei fetched a bucket of water from the well and put it in a basin. Bai Haitang put the two pieces of clothing in and soaked them for a while. The water was still cool and colorless.

Several ladies looked at it curiously.

"How do you know this?" asked the second lady.

"The little girl once studied with my father. She has been interested in studying dyes since she was a child, and she also has a lot of experience." Bai Haitang answered calmly.

"Looking at you, have you ever studied?" the eldest lady asked curiously.

"I understand a little bit," Bai Haitang replied.

"Do you know what this is?" The eldest lady pointed to the four paintings hanging on the wall.

"Plums, bamboos, chrysanthemums and orchids symbolize the four gentlemen. Let me make a bold guess. Maybe the county prince loves the four ladies very much. They value both beauty and wisdom, and are diligent and virtuous. Therefore, he likens the four ladies to the four gentlemen in nature." Bai Haitang answered.

"Sure enough, I have some knowledge." The eldest lady was also a little tempted.

Now only the fourth lady is left, and she is still eating melon seeds.

"I have some homemade melon seeds here. Please give the four ladies a taste." After Bai Haitang finished speaking, he placed the remaining spiced melon seeds in front of the four ladies.

The taste alone is different from that of raw melon seeds. It is full of a salty aroma. The ladies usually eat too many melon seeds when they have nothing to do. When they taste it, it is really fresh. They have never eaten anything like this.

"How did you do it?" the fourth lady asked.

"If the ladies like it, I will bring more next time. As for the method, please allow me not to say anything." Bai Haitang replied.

"How much do you plan to charge for dyeing a suit of clothes?" the second lady asked.

"Five copper plates are dyed in one set," Bai Haitang said.

"Five copper coins? That's so much? Two." The third lady calculated carefully.

"Every five copper coins cannot be less. It is said that the county magistrate loves his wives very much, especially when he spends money. Unlike the old rich man at the east end of the village, it seems that this may not be the case now..." Bai Haitang said. Wintersweet.

On one side, I thought that two copper coins were already good, but this was pie in the sky. I didn’t expect that Sister Haitang would say such a thing. If the ladies were unhappy, the two copper coins would be gone.
