Chapter 204. [Case 22] Inside the River Temple

Following the direction of the temple gate, I looked clockwise. The craftsmen who originally placed the statues obviously just put the clay figures on them to count, and did not arrange them according to the sects they belonged to and the size of their official positions. They built the temple for the sake of building the temple. This

Temples may not necessarily be very effective. The first one is Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. When I saw him when I was a child, I always thought it was Tang Monk. Most of the next many gods are Arhats or some great masters in Buddhism.

I couldn't worship them one by one, I just observed if there was anything noteworthy on these statues.

Almost every statue of the god is covered with a red cloth, which is a traditional way of respecting the gods. The plastic fruits in the shrine are very old and dirty, which can be seen at a glance.

Which deity is the most popular? I kept looking for it, because the statues of deities are placed in square grid shrines, and the back of the shrine is the wall. If someone worships here, they probably won’t be bored enough to go around to the back to do it.

What hands and feet? I continued to search, and about a third of the way there, I saw the Taoist Universal God of Heaven, also commonly known as the God of Thunder.

This God of Thunder is far from the Thunder God in the shape of Lei Zhenzi that we saw at Uncle Liang’s house. The Universal God of Heaven here is the most appropriate image in my impression. Even though I am not a Taoist, he is sitting cross-legged.

, squinting my eyes and facing the direction of the river. Since it was somewhat related to the case I just experienced, I paid special attention to this statue. Then I found that there was no offering of fruit in its shrine, but there might be some

Where the fruit offerings were previously placed, there were several clear marks left behind due to dust covering them. This also shows that there were originally fruit offerings here, but for some unknown reason, the fruit offerings were removed.

People took them away, so these marks were left. I looked carefully at the base of the statue and found that there were traces of movement on the mark. Because Puhua Tianzun is a Taoist with a Taoist spirit, and his body is not actually big, so

The area is not very large, but the clear mark under the base of the Universal Heavenly Lord in front of me is much larger than its own area. In other words, if my inference is correct, there was originally another place here.

A god, and this god occupies a large area, so it left this mark, which proves that the statue of Universal Heaven was later artificially moved to this position.

When I thought about this, I began to realize that I might be one step closer to the answer I wanted, so I couldn't help but feel my heart beat faster. The reason for the acceleration was less excitement and more fear. I didn't know that I

Why should I be afraid at that time? I just remember that if this matter cannot be resolved smoothly, it will not be a big problem for me, but Hu Zongren will receive some unimaginable punishment. Starting from the Baji mark left on his back,

Hu Zongren unintentionally became a stupid soldier who only knew how to kill the enemy. He did it to survive, but he never thought about who he was fighting for.

Since the statue of the god has been moved, I first assume that it was done by those who were at the temple fair. Generally speaking, unless the temple is being expanded or relocated, few people will easily move the statue of the god. This can be regarded as a disrespectful gesture.

Judging from the newness of the mark, it should have appeared in recent days, and it is very likely that the position of the statue was moved during the temple fair. In this case, if religious people did it themselves, there is no other way to say it.

I bent down and looked under the shrine of Puhua Tianzun, but found nothing except a few white powdery finger prints left by moving. I took out the compass and started looking at it.

I searched around the statues and shrines. Basically no one came here. At most, pedestrians passing by the temple gate occasionally looked inside. This also allowed me to do things without worrying too much. But in front of the statues

To a certain extent, moving the compass has the same meaning as using a sword in front of Guan Gong. Fortunately, the temples here are not very good. This is probably the reason why the people at the temple fair chose this place.

Now that things have happened, I have begun to wishfully believe that there is an inevitable connection between the two, and use my speculation as a kind of evidence to verify it. It is not that I am stubborn, but that I have no other way.

However, I did not detect any traces around the statue of Puhua Tianzun. In addition to detecting ghosts, the compass can also detect some subtle things that are different from spirituality. For example, a certain thing is related to supernatural things.

If so, then the things related to or in contact with it will more or less have clues at the same frequency, and I am just trying to get the evidence I want while taking advantage of the luck that is about to be squandered by me.

The first attempt was a failure, so I continued walking forward and looked at the statues one by one. Many of them were even covered with spider webs. The life of these gods was quite bleak. I was almost halfway there.

In the center, the bases of several consecutive statues have been moved. On the left is Guanyin, and next to Guanyin is a Maitreya Buddha.

Guanyin naturally exists, and Maitreya Buddha is also very common in temples. But because we were almost certain that all this was the White Lotus Sect, I naturally began to have feelings for this fat, big-eared, smiling Buddha.

I felt an unprecedented sense of fear. The base of the Guanyin statue was also moved, but I guess it was originally in this position, and I just adjusted the direction of the Guanyin, because the mark on the base can match the outline of the Guanyin statue.

It should have been in the same direction as the opening of the shrine, towards the temple door, but at this moment it was turned ninety degrees counterclockwise, and Guanyin was facing Maitreya Buddha on one side. This is obviously a strange phenomenon, and it is inevitable.

It has a certain purpose. When I went to see the Maitreya Buddha again, I had to check the marks on the base of each one before. I found that not only was there no mark under the Maitreya Buddha, but it seemed that the original mark was covered.

So I immediately remembered the statue of Universal Heavenly Lord that I had seen before. The outline at the bottom looked larger, so I immediately returned to that statue and took pictures with my mobile phone. Then I returned to Maitreya Buddha and compared the pictures.

Looking at the outline of the seal and the outline of the Maitreya Buddha's base, I quickly came to the conclusion that the Maitreya Buddha was originally placed at the location of the Universal Deity, but was recently moved here. The direction of the Maitreya Buddha is towards the south.

That is the direction of Uncle Liang's house. The reason why Guanyin Bodhisattva turned in the direction is probably because this group of people is originally related to Buddhism, and Guanyin Bodhisattva is a rescuer. It is completely inconsistent with what they want to do at the moment, so they cannot be seen by the Bodhisattva.

, so I turned the direction. Of course, this is just my guess, but by linking the previous God of Thunder with the current Maitreya Buddha, I have basically determined in my heart that during the temple fair that day, it is just a matter of coming to the temple to play gongs and drums.

The real purpose of deceiving others was to find an opportunity to sneak into Uncle Liang's house and take action. Although it was impossible to know what the motive was, this group of people, at least the person who touched the statue, must be a member of the White Lotus Sect.

I didn’t start checking directly because I’m used to leaving the most suspicious places until the end. So I then started searching. There were about a dozen statues left, but there were no traces of being tampered with. Even the small wooden signs in front of several statues were inverted.

No one helped me up when I got off. When I walked back in the opposite direction, I checked a little and found that everything was normal, and these statues did not react at all.

In fact, it is very ridiculous to test spirits in such a Buddhist temple. With so many gods and Buddhas, which bold demons and ghosts would dare to come in? Even gods and Buddhas with only clay bodies can have a deterrent effect, but why should I?

I wanted to check, firstly out of insurance and out of habit, and secondly, since I encountered a ghost at Uncle Liang’s house, I concluded that the ghost must be under instigation, which is emotionally passive.

Just like the gladiators in ancient Europe, they knew that they might be killed by their opponents, but they had to bite the bullet and rush forward. So if the ghosts in Uncle Liang's house are related to the White Lotus Sect, and the White Lotus Sect is in my opinion at the moment,

It is related to the decoration of the Maitreya Buddha in front of me, so this Maitreya Buddha statue must be hiding some mystery. And I don’t think the person who set all this up at the beginning would have thought that I would find this temple and this statue so quickly.

Buddha statue.

Returning to Maitreya Buddha, I started to check around. This place is opposite the temple gate, which means that if I were Maitreya Buddha at this moment, I could see everyone passing by outside through the temple gate. Why are the gods and Buddhas there?

The purpose of having a head and eyes is to look at all sentient beings. I was not bold enough to blindfold the Buddha statue, so I could only search carefully around it. I am not a Buddhist, although I understand a little bit about Buddhism.

But at least respect is required. Soon I discovered that every time my compass approached the base of Maitreya Buddha from bottom to top, there would be a subtle and fleeting movement, as if there was suddenly something.

This kind of force attracts the pointer, and then suddenly disappears.

So I squatted down and began to carefully examine the bottom of the shrine. At first, there were white powder handprints on the base of the Universal Goddess. I thought it was caused during the transportation of the statue, but I couldn't find it under the Maitreya Buddha.

For the powder of the same texture, I can see a very clear mark on the bottom. Along the four sides of the base, there are four sentences in total:

"The emperor's tomb cannot see the sky, but loyalty, filial piety and morality are on both sides.

Hope that the fierce fire will illuminate the way out, and only the white lotus will appear in the world."

Well, the evidence has emerged.
