Chapter 68 The Boundary Duty of a Soldier! Part 2

Li Hao looked at the hostages crawling out in shock. With a wave of his hand, dozens of police officers stepped forward to respond.

"What's going on?" Li Hao grabbed a hostage and asked in disbelief. "Why did you get out?"

"They let me out——" the man said with evasive eyes.

"Let you out?" Li Hao opened his eyes wide and asked in disbelief. "The other party has been subdued?"

This is impossible!

Tang Yan only brought nine people in. How could he possibly rescue the hostages?

"Y-yes."

Li Hao wanted to ask again, but was stopped by the silent blind man. He said in a hoarse voice: "No need to ask."

Li Hao looked at the blind man in astonishment and asked in confusion: "What's going on? Has Tang Yan lifted the hostage in some areas?"

"No." The blind man shook his head.

"Then how did they get out?" Li Hao asked in disbelief.

"My brother paid for it with his life." The blind man said calmly, but his tone was full of pain.

"What?!" Li Hao was shocked. "In exchange for my life?"

The blind man did not answer directly, but pointed at the hostages being taken away by the ambulance: "Did you see the blood on their bodies?"

"Yeah." Li Hao nodded. "They may be injured."

"It's not them who are injured," the blind man said. "It's my brother."

"What's going on?" Li Hao rubbed his eyebrows in confusion.

"This is a common method used by terrorists." The blind man lit a cigarette with trembling arms and continued. "Let the hostages challenge the rescuers. If they win, they can leave. If they lose, they will die."

"You mean -" Li Hao's scalp was numb. "They defeated the soldiers brought in by Tang Yan, so they were released by the terrorists?"

"You can say that." The blind man nodded.

"But with your fighting power, how could they-"

"Soldiers will not fight against civilians." The blind man looked stern. "Our duty is to protect, not to harm."

Li Hao's breathing was chaotic, and after a long pause he asked: "What about Tang Yan and the others -"

"As long as there are still hostages coming out, it proves that they are not dead yet." The blind man was very emotionally disturbed.

They go to rescue the hostages.

But they were attacked by hostages.

The blind man smoked three cigarettes in a row, but it was still difficult to calm down his gradually collapsing mentality.

This is a very cruel method. Several countries have caused mutinies because of this method of terrorists.

Why?

Soldiers go to save people, but are attacked and even killed by hostages. Who is not born to parents? Who has no desire for life, who is willing to leave this beautiful world?

At the end of the last century, after terrorists in a small Western country took hostages and killed nearly a hundred soldiers who were performing rescue operations, the military commander was furious and annihilated the terrorists and citizens, triggering a mutiny that shocked the world.

That commander is recognized as the most brutal general after World War II. But in some non-mainstream fields, he is a highly respected warrior.

No one can really give a definition of who is right or wrong. Even if the general died in the mutiny, no one can make a final conclusion on his coffin.

"You said -" Li Hao looked at the blind man with a subtle expression and murmured, "Will they really be killed by the hostages?"

After asking this question, Li Hao got wet all over.

This is an issue that extremely challenges human nature. If they are unwilling to harm the hostages, these soldiers will be killed sooner or later.

Can you fight back?

Li Hao's mind was a little confused and he didn't know how to deal with the situation in front of him.

"All I know is that my brother would not attack ordinary citizens."

Ordinary citizens?

These citizens who escaped from the bank have basically behaved like thugs!

Whoosh!

The blood-stained blade stabbed Tang Yan's chest while he was lying on the ground.

"Sister Yanzi!"

The bear rushed over and grabbed the dagger that was about to pierce his chest. He tried hard to break the sharp dagger, but he broke it!

His eyes were scarlet, and he was so angry that he stabbed the frightened middle-aged man to death with half a dagger in his hand.

"stop!"

Tang Yan sat up and said weakly: "You are a soldier!"

The bear's huge body trembled suddenly. Tears overflowed from his eyes as big as copper bells.

Gou Xiong, who had just joined the army and had his legs broken by the instructor because of his hot temper without saying a word, shed tears of grievance. His arms, back, and calves were covered in bruises. This fierce man who could knock down dozens of people even if he started to attack was still carrying it till now.

, I feel even more tired than the devilish training I have received since I was a soldier.

The middle-aged man threw down the dagger in panic, turned around and shouted to the blond man: "I won. I defeated her! Can I go?"

"Okay." The blond man was still smiling, and his smile became even happier.

The battle ended after ten minutes.

The hostages had a 100% chance of winning. The ten members of the special forces team were as weak as the last. Some lay on the ground and refused to move, while others struggled to get up. They secretly wiped the tears from the corners of their eyes.

"Get gauze." Tang Yan, who was helped up by Xiong Xiong, gave the military order. "Bandage the wound."

Everyone carried out the order and bandaged the wounds feebly.

The members of the special operations team with minor injuries managed to bandage themselves. Some soldiers with serious injuries who could not even lift their arms bandaged their mouths and tried to hold themselves up.

"Child, grandma will help you——"

An old woman over eighty years old walked with difficulty towards the soldiers approaching her.

This soldier had a slightly childish face and looked no more than twenty-five years old. However, he had successfully rescued two hostages. He also had seven or eight wounds of various sizes on his body. The old man approached him, took the gauze from the soldier's mouth, and carefully replaced it.

The soldier bandaged the wound on his leg and burst into tears.

Even if the soldiers stood in front of her, she would not be able to defeat them. She felt extremely distressed. These young soldiers were similar in age to her grandchildren. They were all vigorous flowers of the motherland. The old man bandaged the wounds of the soldiers and choked up: "My child, please don't do it."

If you hold on, you will be beaten to death."

"It's okay, grandma." A bright smile appeared on the soldier's face, and he stretched out his dirty palm to wipe away the tears on the old man's face. "I am a soldier. It is my bounden duty to protect you."

"Grandma doesn't want you to protect her." The old man held the soldier's hand and said excitedly. "You don't want to protect them either! They are crazy!"

The soldier wiped the blood from his face and said nothing. He just limped and helped the old woman move to the hostage area. Then he trudged back to Tang Yan and said, "Team Tang, I should be able to play two more games."

"Promise." Another soldier grinned. "I can still fight three more times."

"You two combined are not as big as me." Another burly man, whose size is close to that of a bear, said.

Tang Yan took a deep breath and stared at the blond man calmly: "We can start."

The blond man clapped his hands and said with a smile: "Chinese soldiers are indeed well-deserved. However, I can give you a better choice."

Tang Yan remained silent and did not answer.

"Kill any hostage you want." The blond man joked. "You don't have much strength now. But there are old people and children here. Kill any hostage and I can let you out."

"Pooh!"

The bear spat out a mouthful of blood: "Fuck you!"

"Stop talking nonsense and let's get started!" another soldier shouted.

"Since the day I joined the army, I have only hit criminals with these iron fists. I will never harm my compatriots!"

Kill hostages?

That's something only rebels would do.

They are the best soldiers of the Republic, and they will not inflict poisonous hands on their compatriots. Even if they want to kill themselves.

"Now that you have made your choice." The blond man smiled. "I will not force you. If you want to go out, you can get the dagger by yourself."

After he said that, he turned around and sat on the chair, ready to continue enjoying the show.

This time, there were fewer hostages with the urge to receive the dagger. There were only a few here and there.

Moreover - whenever a hostage came out, they would be dragged into the crowd and beaten wildly.

The scene seemed to be getting out of control.

"Are you going to fucking kill them?" one hostage roared.

"I won't kill them. I just want to get out!" the beaten hostage argued.

"What's the difference between that and killing them?"

"Why didn't you tell those people just now?"

"I just see that you are unhappy!"

Someone wants to go out.

Some people don't want to go out at the cost of a soldier's life.

When conflicts arise within the masses, and when the good side of human beings is inspired, the blond man's iron-blooded methods are no longer as effective as before.

In five thousand years, the Chinese nation has accumulated too much dirt and darkness. It has also unearthed too many bad qualities. But since a nation can survive tenaciously for five thousand years, the good aspects of this nation are unmatched by other nations.

Because of justice, I am fearless.

When justice was inspired from the depths of their souls, they were no longer timid or cowardly. They held hands and went around in circles, surrounding the seriously injured and exhausted soldiers in the middle.

They are afraid of death.

But they are even more afraid that soldiers will die for them.

These soldiers have fulfilled their duties faithfully. They have fulfilled their vocation as soldiers. They should rest instead of facing continuous attacks.

"We will never listen to you again!" one of the hostages shouted.

"We will not be threatened by you again!" another hostage shouted.

"Kill us all if you dare!"

"Our blood will not be shed in vain!"

"Our Chinese soldiers will make you pay a heavy price!"

"They fight bravely and skillfully!"

"They are invincible!"

"They protect their home and country!"

"They are great heroes!"

The crowd burst into heroic roars. A declaration that they would not bow to the evil forces!

"Perhaps I say goodbye and will never come back!"

I don't know if it was to encourage the members of the special forces, or to pay tribute to them. Familiar singing voices and simple lyrics rang out from the crowd.

"Do you understand? Do you understand?" someone continued.

Gradually, hundreds of people sang together:

Maybe I will never get up again after falling down.

Do you still want to look forward to it forever?

If this is the case, don't be sad.

The flag of the Republic bears our blood-stained grace!

The singing voice is loud and clear, soaring into the sky.

The hostages shed tears. Tears of tribute to the soldiers.

The soldiers headed by Tang Yan stood tall and were resolute and tenacious.

Why become a soldier?

Because they can be cowardly, timid, and afraid of death. But they are still cute...and the country.
