Chapter 12 The Cursed City

At noon, we hurried down slowly and finally arrived at the gate of the inner city.

The city gate was also unguarded, but traces of human activity were found on the road as early as possible, and Ye Feng was filled with infinite excitement.

Unfortunately, after passing through the city gate, most of the buildings on both sides of the street are dilapidated, and broken walls can be seen everywhere. They are obviously uninhabited.

"Is it really an empty city? Where have all the people here gone?"

Ye Feng really couldn't understand that he really saw traces of human activities on the way here, but now the appearance of the city told him that there was no one here.

Ye Feng was very disappointed, in an extremely bad mood, and vaguely doubted whether the world was really destroyed.

"Woof woof woof!"

Just as he was walking blindly down the street in despair, the little wolf suddenly howled.

"Hahaha! Got it, I heard it too!"

At the same time as the little wolf barked, Ye Feng also laughed and yelled.

He also heard a burst of noise coming from ahead. Although it was very vague, it was definitely a human voice. What made him even more excited was that the voice sounded very much like Chinese.

Sure enough, after walking for ten minutes, the human voice was clearly audible.

It was a group of people. They were arguing about something, and there were bursts of shouting and shouting, vaguely like a fight. Ye Feng was also confused for a while, but the speed of his feet was obviously accelerated.

"What are you doing!"

Xun Sheng turned a corner and saw a large group of people gathered on the street. There were waves of shouting and shouting, and they didn't know what they were doing.

"You kid is looking for death!"

Ye Feng was so eager that he cupped his hands in front of a big man without looking carefully. Before he could say anything, the big man turned his head alertly and cursed.

"Sorry to bother you, brother, I just want to ask a few questions?"

"What the hell are you asking? I think you're just looking for trouble, you're sneaky, and you want to plot against me!"

The big man obviously had a bad temper and was a brainless snarker. He raised his huge palm as if to give Ye Feng a big mouth.

However, the big man didn't really take action. On the contrary, his posture was more of a defensive state.

"Brother, you misunderstood. I really didn't mean any harm, I just wanted to ask something!"

"Get out, get out before I change my mind!"

The big man obviously didn't want to take action, and his expression was even more funny. It wasn't anger, but disgust, as if he had seen something dirty.

"I'm sorry, then I'll ask someone else!"

Ye Feng could see the big man's expression clearly. He didn't understand what it meant, but he was sure that something was wrong with him.

In fact, he also discovered a strange phenomenon. There were many people here, all watching, not knowing what was going on in front of him.

But all the onlookers kept a certain distance from each other, as if they were on guard against each other and were extremely hostile.

Of course, there are also groups of three or five that are close together. It can be seen that they must be very familiar with each other, and they are a small group.

Although the onlookers kept their distance, there were so many people, three floors inside and three floors outside, that it was impossible to see what was going on in front.

There is another strange phenomenon. Even if all you see now are back figures, you can still tell that everyone is a strong young and middle-aged man, and there are absolutely no women, children, old or weak people.

This is definitely not a normal group. They can't all be young and middle-aged people watching the fun, so something must have happened.

Ye Feng didn't care much about what happened in front of him. What he wanted to know most was where this place was.

With the lessons learned from the past, he no longer dared to be reckless and ask random people, so he observed carefully, hoping to find someone more easy-going.

Unfortunately, all he could see was his back. Even if he walked into the crowd, everyone would either glare angrily at him or show disgust as if they were avoiding snakes and scorpions.

It was obviously impossible to ask these people. Ye Feng had to go back the same way and wanted to look for people elsewhere, hoping to find a kind old man or something to ask.

Of course, it might be easier to have a conversation if there was a shop or something, but it was a pity that he was penniless now.

Just after he walked out of the crowd, out of the corner of his eye he spotted a middle-aged man sitting in front of a gatehouse on the street.

The man's body was very thin, obviously different from the strong men he had seen before, and Ye Feng could tell at a glance that the man must be ill and looked extremely bad.

"Uncle, can I ask you something?"

Ye Feng's eyes lit up. Since this man was already ill, he probably wouldn't be too hostile to him. He quickly stepped forward, bowed and asked.

"Oh! Brother, if you want to know something, feel free to ask. But it's useless to ask, since your life is not long anyway!"

The man was very weak. He didn't look at Ye Feng with any disgust, but the sympathy in his cloudy eyes was undisguised.

"Uncle, what kind of place is this? Why does it look like an empty city?"

Ye Feng weighed it up and finally decided to go direct.

"Oh! You don't know where this place is? Aren't you a mine boy?"

The man heard Ye Feng's question and asked in surprise.

"Miner boy? I didn't know. I just came here by chance. I don't know what happened here."

"How is this possible? Are you saying that you walked through the death zone alone and ended up here?"

"Death zone? It must be!"

Ye Feng didn't know what the man was talking about, but he thought of the desolate land he had walked through before. Maybe that was the death zone he called.

Although he didn't feel that there was any danger in that area, it was true that there were no living creatures at all throughout the entire process. Perhaps that's why it was called the Death Zone.

"You really came here alone, not a mine boy?"

"Uncle, I just arrived here today, and I really don't know what the mine boy you are talking about is."

"This... this... how is this possible! Are you wearing these clothes?"

"Hey, that's not true. After walking for more than a month, my coat is all in tatters, so I have no choice but to throw it away."

Ye Feng didn't want to reveal too much. After all, he couldn't explain his origin, so he had no choice but to get off the road.

"Good guy, it seems to be true. You don't even know what's here, yet you dare to come here!"

"There is nothing we can do. Something unexpected happened in our village, and I was the only one left. I had to run around in a hurry."

"You are really lucky. There are many thieves in the mountains and villages along the way, but you managed to escape them all. It's not easy."

"Hey, I guess it's because I have small goals and don't have much, so I won't attract anyone's attention."

"That's true, but you're going to die by coming here!"

"Please give me some advice, uncle!"

"What else are you pointing out? I'm just waiting to die. There's no sympathy in this cursed city. Who doesn't come here to fight for their lives?"

"City of the Damned?"

Ye Feng finally knew the name of a place, but the name gave him a chilling feeling.
