Affectionate forty-eight

"Such a cute and well-behaved child, everyone in our nursing station is so jealous of you!"

The nurse pulled out the needle for Bai Xiao, looked at the child with admiration and spoke for a while before leaving.

Bai Xiao put on her shoes and squatted down beside the sofa. The bulldog next to her noticed someone approaching, opened her eyes, but just glanced at her, then closed her eyes and lay back.

Recalling the "meat ball" sound she heard before she fainted, Bai Xiao reached out and touched its head, "What's your name?"

The bulldog purred as if he understood what she said.

Bai Xiao couldn't help but curl up the corners of his mouth, then lowered his head and looked carefully at the sleeping child.

The long and curled eyelashes cast a fan-shaped shadow on his little face, which was indescribably endearing.

She touched Yu Jingxi's exposed feet. The thick soles were slippery, soft, and a little cold.

He got up and went back to the bedside, took the quilt and covered Yu Jingxi's body when the cell phone placed on the bedside cabinet suddenly vibrated non-stop.

Bai Xiao looked at the name displayed on the screen, and her heart had returned to calm. She directly pressed the hang up button and planned to go to the bathroom to wash her face. However, her phone rang again, vibrating over and over again without giving up.

The child on the sofa snorted, furrowed his thin eyebrows, and turned over again.

Bai Xiao first covered Yu Jingxi with the quilt, and then walked to the corridor outside the ward with his mobile phone: "What's the matter?"

There was a slight sound of breathing on the other end of the phone. It was quiet for a while, and then Pei Qiyou's voice came: "Call me at noon..."

"Your grandma is sick," Bai Xiao interrupted, "and was sent to the People's Hospital for emergency treatment. Mom asked you to go there."

After saying that, Bai Xiao hung up the phone and looked up to see Yu Jingxi standing barefoot at the door of the hospital.

"Meatball" wags its tail and follows him.

One person and one dog looked at her with four dark eyes.

Pei Qiyou stood in the hospital corridor holding his mobile phone, the "beep" sound from the receiver lingering in his ears.

He stood for a while before turning around, but his footsteps immediately stopped.

Jiang Yingmei didn't know when she stood behind him.

"mom."

Jiang Yingmei looked at him: "Did you call Xiaoxiao just now?"

Pei Qiyou put away his phone and glanced into the ward: "How is grandma?"

"Qiyou, it's not easy for Xiaoxiao to live alone outside these years. She is your wife, you have to be nice to her."

Pei Qiyou said nothing.

Jiang Yingmei saw that he was so angry that she couldn't make steel, and her tone was a bit harsher than before: "What are the good things about those women outside that make them worthy of you being homeless? If one day Xiaoxiao is angry with you and leaves,

Let me see what you do!"

Pei Qiyou tightened his grip on the phone and walked past Pei's mother into the ward with an expressionless expression.

Bai Xiao was half-kneeling on the ground, holding a fat little foot in her hand, and gently wiped away the dirt on the sole of her foot with a tissue.

The little guy let Bai Xiao wipe his feet, sat obediently on the sofa, fiddled with a bag of Oreos from his big schoolbag, and ate the biscuits with his little hands.
