The most critical link - processing rifling.
Rifling is the soul of the barrel, and it is also the soul of the barrel. This is the last step in all processing procedures for the original barrel.
Whether the rifling process is accurate or not fundamentally determines the life and death of the original barrel. If there is a deviation of more than three wires in a rifling, the original barrel will be declared scrapped immediately.
There are only two chances.
If all fails, we can only wait for the second barrel blank a few days later.
In order to successfully complete the rifling processing of the original 105mm barrel, Zhuang Qianding and Yu Hua specially developed this five-ton high-precision horizontal heavy-duty hydraulic broaching machine. The main motor of the heavy-duty broaching machine outputs high power and drives the hydraulic piston pump to generate flow. The high-speed flowing hydraulic oil moves forward along the pipeline, generating a high hydraulic pressure of about ten tons, which directly acts on the main hydraulic cylinder of the broaching machine.
The main hydraulic cylinder is connected to the main rod of the broach. As the hydraulic pressure is transmitted, this extremely huge force acts on the main rod of the broach, pulling the twelve-blade extra-long broach made of tungsten alloy material.

Zhuang Qianding looked solemn and meticulous, holding the control rod tightly with both hands, carefully controlling the rotation rate of the broach to match the original body tube, while maintaining a state of constant speed.
During the entire rifling broaching process, the speed cannot be fast or slow. The cooperation between the broach and the barrel must be optimal, and the broaching advance speed and rotation speed need to be maintained at an appropriate level.
If there is too much, it will be scrapped, if there is too little, it will be scrapped.
However, thanks to this dedicated horizontal heavy-duty hydraulic broaching machine, the control accuracy of its hydraulic transmission structure far exceeds that of traditional broaching machines with mechanical structures.

More and more blade parts appeared on the twelve-blade broach, and slender metal wires kept popping out. Not long after, as the last set of cutting edges of the multi-blade broach left the inner wall of the slowly rotating body tube, the main motor ran at a huge speed.

Zhuang Qianding let out a breath, stopped what he was doing, adjusted the broaching machine to its initial state, and then came to the front end of the original barrel. He cast his gaze on the inner wall of the barrel and saw twelve riflings rotating according to the designed twist.
