Chapter 22: Ji Liangchuan's Warning

Shu Wan glanced at Ji Liangchuan, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

Seeing him looking sideways out of the window, the awkward feeling in my heart subsided slightly.

She held a tissue and lowered her head, silently wiping the rain off her body.

Ji Liangchuan looked through the rearview mirror at the thin figure in the back seat.

In such a cold weather, she didn't even wear a coat and was still taking a taxi in the rain. This made Ji Liangchuan a little curious.

"Miss Shu, why didn't Master Lin send you back?"

Hearing the words "Master Lin", Shu Wan frowned in confusion, and it took her a while to realize that she was now Lin Zechen's 'woman'.

She clenched the tissue in her hand and shook it casually, "I had a few arguments with him, and he threw me out of the car."

Ji Liangchuan nodded lightly, "That's it."

Seeing that she was shivering from the cold, he raised his hand to turn up the heating and asked no more questions.

The sudden rise in temperature inside the car gradually warmed Shu Wan's cold and stiff body.

She glanced at Ji Liangchuan gratefully and explained carefully, "I originally wanted to take a ride-hailing service, but my phone was out of battery and the store next to it was closed. There was no place to take shelter from the rain, so I stood at the intersection to stop him.

Taxi, I'm really sorry to trouble you."

Ji Liangchuan supported his chin with one hand, looked at the embarrassed Shu Wan in the rearview mirror, and gently comforted him, "It's okay."

Shu Wan then relaxed his whole body, leaned his head against the car window, and closed his eyes tiredly.

She was so tired that she quickly fell asleep due to the warm wind blowing.

Not long after, the car stopped at the gate of the community.

Ji Liangchuan said without looking back, "Miss Shu, we're here."

After waiting for a while, no one in the back seat responded, so Ji Liangchuan turned around.

His eyes widened slightly when he saw Shu Wan leaning against the car window, sleeping soundly and peacefully.

Isn't this woman too arrogant? She dares to sleep in a stranger's car so peacefully?

Does she think he is a good person?

Ji Liangchuan frowned and winked at the assistant.

The assistant quickly stood up, walked around to the back seat, opened the car door, and pushed Shu Wan.

"Miss Shu, your home is here."

Shu Wan was pushed awake. With difficulty, he opened his eyelids. His vision was full of black shadows. It was blurry and he couldn't see anything clearly.

She knew that she had been caught in the rain, which made her condition worse. Fortunately, her thoughts were still clear and she still remembered that this was Ji Liangchuan's car.

She quickly forced herself to sit up straight, sheepishly thanked her again, then opened the door and got out of the car.

"Miss Shu."

Ji Liangchuan stopped her, took an umbrella from the back seat and handed it to her, "It's still raining heavily outside, take it."

Shu Wan saw the sign on the umbrella and knew it was worth hundreds of thousands. She was afraid that she wouldn't have the chance to return it to him after taking it, so she declined softly, "Thank you. It's only a few steps away. I'll just run over."

Ji Liangchuan was stunned for a moment, as if he could see Shu Wan's thoughts in her eyes, and threw the umbrella directly to her, "No need to return it."

Shu Wan was a little embarrassed, but seeing Ji Liangchuan's unwillingness to refuse, he had no choice but to accept it.

"Mr. Ji, please give me your contact information and I will find a time to return it to you tomorrow."

When Ji Liangchuan heard that she asked for her contact information, his eyes gradually became filled with contempt, "Miss Shu, I don't like it being delivered to my door."

Shu Wan didn't expect that he would misinterpret what she meant, and quickly explained: "That's not what I meant, I thought this umbrella..."

"Miss Shu."

Ji Liangchuan interrupted her coldly, with a warning in his eyes, "No matter what you mean, I'm sending you home just out of good intentions. If you have other ideas, I advise you to stop it as soon as possible."

These words made Shu Wan feel very uncomfortable. She put down the umbrella without saying anything more, turned around and left.

After taking two steps in the rain, he felt unconvinced again, so he turned back to Ji Liangchuan and said:

"Mr. Ji, thank you very much for your kindness in sending me home, but you don't have to look at me through colored glasses. I just felt that the umbrella you gave me was too expensive, and I was afraid that I wouldn't have the chance to return it to you, so I refused.

"

Shu Wan finished speaking in one breath, and regardless of his expression, turned around and ran towards the community.

Ji Liangchuan looked at the petite back, slightly startled.

He felt that if a woman like Shu Wan, who was out to sell, met someone with a little money, she would find a way to seduce him.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have turned around and thrown herself into Lin Zechen's arms as soon as she separated from her second brother.

But what she just said made Ji Liangchuan a little embarrassed. It seemed that he had misunderstood her too much...
