After the cold winter has passed, it is now the first New Year after the new emperor ascended the throne, and also the first New Year after the eighteenth year of Zhenguan.
It has been three months since the new emperor ascended the throne, and it is the first day of the new year in the first year of his reign.
The new emperor of the Tang Dynasty went to Lishan Mountain to meet his father in person, and a grand guard of honor slowly walked towards Lishan Mountain.
Monk Xuanzang looked at the ceremonial guard in the distance from afar. This was a scene that could not be seen in the Western Regions and Tianzhu. The long ceremonial guard was followed by envoys from various countries.
Even if the Khan of Heaven has abdicated and the new emperor has ascended the throne, the envoys from all over the world are still willing to come to meet the Khan of Heaven and pay homage to the Khan of Heaven.
This was a scene Xuanzang had never seen before in his life, after so much time had passed.
He said foolishly: "I didn't expect that the Tang Dynasty was so powerful."
Not far away, three bears were running towards us. The bears were very big and looked as tall as half a man.
There were four children, one of whom was smaller, and he was holding an older girl.
When the bear stopped in front of him, Xuanzang took a step back, his eyes very wary. Facing such an animal, no matter how calm his expression was, he would inevitably feel frightened.
"Are you Monk Xuanzang?"
one of the girls asked.
Xuanzang saluted and said: "Poor monk Xuanzang."
The child replied: "I am Li Mingda."
Another girl replied: "I am Zhang Qingqing."
There was a boy beside him, and he replied lazily: "I am Zhang Xin'an."
As for the younger child, he huddled in his sister's arms and was unwilling to talk to strangers, appearing a little timid.
Xuanzang asked: "I wonder what the business of coming here is?"
Zhang Qingqing took the bundle off Xiong Da's neck and threw it to him, "Dad asked me to give this to you. I'm afraid you'll freeze to death or starve to death."
Xuanzang looked at the baggage curiously.
Zhang Xin'an explained: "These are Lishan's unique cotton clothes and plain steamed buns. Since you are a monk, I won't give you meat buns."
"Thank you very much, donor. May I ask who the donor is?"
Zhang Qingqing added: "I am the princess of Lishan, and my father is Zhang Yang, the county prince you have always wanted to see."
Xuanzang put down his baggage again and recited the Buddha's name, "I didn't expect the county prince's child to be so spiritual."
Zhang Xin'an sat cross-legged on her back, "Do you still want to see my dad?"
Xuanzang suddenly said: "So you are all the children of a county prince."
Li Mingda said: "I am not, I am Princess Jinyang. My father only abdicated last year."
Xuanzang's face had many ridges due to lack of water, which was caused by too much cold wind blowing in Guanzhong. He clasped his hands together and bent down to salute, "But the county prince wants to see the poor monk?"
Zhang Xin'an frowned and said: "You went all the way to Tianzhu and stayed in Shazhou for so many years. Why are you still unwilling to return to secular life?"
Xuanzang asked: "Is it important to return to secular life?"
Zhang Xin'an frowned and said unconvinced: "At first, Tian Khan thought that you were a talented person. If you could return to secular life, you could become an official in the court. Moreover, you have experience in traveling to the West and can even serve as the Protector of the Western Regions. You are the most suitable candidate. You would rather sit in front of the Buddha all your life than contribute to the Tang Dynasty."
Facing the child's question, Xuanzang recited the Buddha's name again, "You don't have to serve as an official in the court to be useful to the country. We monks can also protect the country and the country."
Zhang Xin'an snorted coldly: "The first half of your sentence is right, but the second half of your sentence is too self-righteous."
Xuanzang closed his eyes and said: "The children in Lishan County are so good at debating. The poor monk understands why everyone regarded the Marquis of Lishan County as a scourge."
"Wrong!" Zhang Xin'an said again: "My father and mother are the sun and moon of the Tang Dynasty. Everyone in Guanzhong knows that my father is a good person. Look at the envoys from all countries who come to court. They all respect me so much."
Xuanzang said: "That's because the county prince has sharp weapons for killing."
"You are wrong again." Zhang Qingqing spoke this time. She nodded and said: "Respect in this world is based on strength. If the Tang Dynasty did not have strength, it would be bullied by foreign enemies. There is nothing wrong with a killing weapon. You have it in your hand.
Weapons can fend off enemies, and strength can make foreign enemies fear the Tang Dynasty. Virtue is important, but strength is also important."
Xuanzang fell silent. He closed his eyes, clasped his hands in front of his chest, and did not answer this question.
Zhang Xin'an said scornfully: "Sister, he is just a stubborn monk. He can't even hold his position. No wonder dad doesn't see him."
Zhang Qingqing said: "You go and find a temple to live in instead of living here. Dad is afraid that you will die of illness if you live here, so I won't send you away."
Afterwards, they rode the bears back to Lishan Mountain.
Xuanzang opened his eyes and wanted to follow, but found that the soldiers and horses outside Lishan Village were heavily guarded and he could not enter.
Looking at the Li Mountain, the bright sunshine was shining on the mountain, and suddenly there was a reflection coming down from the top of the mountain.
Xuanzang avoided being illuminated and narrowed his eyes.
At night, Lishan Mountain is very quiet and gives people a sense of peace. During the day, Lishan Mountain is so magnificent that it is like a treasure between heaven and earth.
And I felt as if there were eyes staring at me from the mountain.
Xuanzang returned to the hut where he lived, unpacked the baggage the child had brought, and put on a cotton coat. This cotton coat was no different from ordinary clothes, but it was very warm on the body.
It turns out that there is cotton batting between the layers of the cotton-padded clothes. After putting them on, I breathed a sigh of relief and felt warmer after wearing them for a long time.
Xuanzang picked up a warm steamed bun. He remembered that passers-by on the official road often picked up steamed buns to eat.
"They said that these buns are not suitable for dry food, but they contain meat, rice and noodles. If you give them to your children more, they will grow taller."
Xuanzang took a bite and chewed it in his mouth. Is there any poison in the bun?
"It turns out that the county prince and Tian Khan didn't want to poison me."
He ate the buns to himself, and after finishing one bun, he picked up another one. This bun had a filling made of radish, and was a little greasy, as if minced meat had been added.
Xuanzang was so hungry that he couldn't care less. He ate all three buns in front of him.
After filling his stomach, he burped, got up and left the hut.
Walking along the official road, you can see trees planted on both sides of the official road. Xuanzang stopped in front of a pavilion, where a notice was posted.
This notice seems to have been newly posted. It states the current regulations for the construction of Guanzhong, including the reasons for returning farmland to forests, encouraging production operations, encouraging villagers to get rid of poverty, become rich, and enrich their material lives.
It seems that the county prince will not see me anymore. He continues walking in a low mood. Guanzhong has changed a lot. No one welcomes me, a monk who has come from afar.
He smiled to himself.
"It turns out that the County Marquis does not want to see the Poor Monk. Yes, the County Marquis is a person with a firm stand. He does not recognize the Poor Monk's ideas. He should be the same as the Poor Monk and be firm in his ideas. He has his own
The concept is different from that of a poor monk."
"Material?" Xuanzang shook his head, a little confused, and muttered to himself as he walked.
He was wearing wooden clogs. The official road was like a tree-lined avenue, which was very beautiful and flat. Occasionally, carriages and officers and soldiers passed by. They walked in a hurry for fear of missing something.
Then we went to a wine shop and heard that tea was available here.
Xuanzang remembered drinking fried tea once when he was in Shazhou. The taste of soaking tea leaves in water is still unforgettable.
When he explained his purpose to the shopkeeper here, Xuanzang said, "I want a bowl of tea."
The shopkeeper was a tall and thin middle-aged man. He said with a smile: "Even if a certain family doesn't like monks, they are still willing to give them a bowl of tea."
Put the shriveled tea leaves into the earthenware bowl, then pick up the kettle from the stove and brew the water into the bowl.
Xuanzang looked at the tea leaves floating in the bowl and smiled and said, "Thank you very much."
There are no guests at the moment, and the passers-by around are talking about the monk.
Xuanzang picked up the tea bowl and took a sip. The greasy feeling from the steamed buns he had just eaten immediately disappeared. He took another sip and found the unique astringent taste of tea.
Feeling the warmth in the stomach and intestines, the whole person seemed to come to life.
After finishing the tea in the bowl, Xuanzang saluted and said, "Thank you very much, shopkeeper."
The shopkeeper put away the tea bowl and said, "It's just a bowl of tea, it's nothing special."
Xuanzang stood there, pulled out an old scripture, presented it with both hands, and said: "These scriptures for the poor monk should be treated as tea as a reward."
The shopkeeper frowned and looked at the scriptures and quickly refused: "I don't want your scriptures. People in Guanzhong don't read scriptures now."
"Why?"
The store owner began to take a look at the monk's appearance. He hadn't taken a bath for a long time, and his clothes were new. They were cotton-padded clothes made from Lishan, which were very common clothes nowadays.
He took out a volume of books from the store and explained: "Now children and young people in Guanzhong like to read this kind of books."
"Huh?" Xuanzang curiously picked up the booklet in front of him and read the title on the cover, "Lishan Scholarship?"
"No one in Guanzhong wants to be a monk now. If you have time, read this kind of book. Maybe it can enlighten you."
"This book was written by the Marquis of Lishan County?"
"After seeing it, I'll give it to you."
The store owner drove him away impatiently to deal with the next wave of customers.
Xuanzang took the book and looked at it page after page. He suddenly stopped and muttered a few words to himself, then quickened his pace again.
"The millions of working people are the most precious people. The governance of the world should put the millions of people first, and the government is based on the millions of people..."
"It is we who have overcome thousands of difficulties and dangers since ancient times. We are also the people who have stood between heaven and earth since ancient times. We are the masses, and our wisdom is the most precious treasure of the times..."
The loud sound of the whistle interrupted Xuanzang's thoughts. He looked up and saw a train passing by on the tracks in front of him.
He saw individual figures in the train carriage. Some of their faces were smiling, some were tired, and some were full.
The train was moving very fast. Xuanzang wanted to catch up. After running for a while, he found that he could no longer run. He picked up the wooden box on his back and held "Lishan Academic" in his hand. He said to himself: "Guanzhong Changes"
No, I don’t know Guanzhong anymore.”
After being away for more than ten years, Guanzhong has become completely different.
Xuanzang said again: "It's not that I don't know Guanzhong anymore, it's that Guanzhong doesn't know the poor monk anymore."
He looked sideways and saw a very prosperous place, which looked like a market. This market was very strange. There were scholars in green shirts walking around here, sometimes talking and sometimes reading books.
There are also students wearing green shirts who are cooking for customers.
There are also students wearing green shirts trimming the beards and hair of customers.
Xuanzang looked up and saw a slogan written on a wall, "Labor creates wealth, knowledge creates the era."
There is a horizontal stone tablet in the distance, and the words engraved on the stone tablet are Lishan Academy, Lishan Technical Institute, and Zhenguan Institute.
It seems that this place has many names.
A student wearing a green shirt quickly stepped forward and asked, "Xuan Zang?"
Xuanzang replied: "It's just a poor monk."
"Our dean invites you to come over and have a talk."
"That's fine."
Xuanzang agreed. He was very curious about this place. He wanted to see what Guanzhong looks like now and see all the unfamiliar things and rules here.
Li Tai has now become the dean here, and he is preparing all the arrangements in the hospital.
After leaving Lishan Technology Research, Li Tai put down all technical research work and concentrated on being a dean.
With free time, I can focus on losing weight.
Li Tai was lifting a barbell made of stone, sweating profusely in the cold wind.
Every time he lifted the barbell, the fat on his face would tremble.
Xuanzang saluted and said, "Dean?"
Li Tai put down the barbell, panted and sat down, took a sip of water, took the cloth on the side and wiped it, and then said: "Sit down."
When Xuanzang saw the stone bench beside him, he put down the wooden box on his back and then refused to sit down. The scriptures in the wooden box were his most cherished and the work of half his life.
"Excuse me, Dean, what do you call me?"
Li Tai replied casually: "I am Li Tai, King of Wei. You can call me Dean."
Xuanzang nodded clearly, "Were you exercising just now?"
Li Tai nodded and said: "We not only have technical courses here, but also provide students with physical training. There are six physical education classes every month. It is important for students not only to study, but also to exercise physical fitness."
Then Li Tai began to do relaxation exercises again, stretching his limbs to avoid soreness in his limbs after exercise.

Li Tai said: "My brother-in-law doesn't want to see you, because I'm afraid you will commit suicide."
"A poor monk would not commit suicide." Sensing the dean's intention to make fun of him, Xuanzang said with a straight face.
"Are you still unwilling to return to secular life?"
"Since the day when I became a monk, I have never thought about returning to secular life."
Li Tai bent over and tried to let his fingertips touch the shoes. He rotated his hands like this and asked, "What do you think of this place?"
Xuanzang said: "The people here are very busy, they are very fulfilled, and they have no time to care about anything else."
Li Tai said: "You are wrong. When a person is hungry, he will have no time to think about other things. Only when he is full can he think more. This is a place that respects wisdom, but your wisdom means nothing to us.
Useless."
"Why is the poor monk wrong again?"
"That's all, I just wanted to see you. I thought you were in such a miserable state. Qingqing is a soft-hearted child and is afraid that you will starve to death outside Lishan Mountain, so I will give you food and clothing."
Xuanzang recited the Buddha's name again, "So you and the Marquis of Lishan County are in the same group."
Li Tai said melancholy: "The monk is indeed annoying. You can go and go wherever you want. No one will stop you now."
Xuanzang picked up his box again, picked up the Lishan academic books, and left here.
This volume was compiled by King Ji Li Shen. Li Tai suddenly said: "Xuan Zang, aren't you afraid that you will go crazy when you read this kind of book?"
Xuanzang's footsteps suddenly stopped again, and he turned around and said: "The poor monk is determined and will not go crazy."
"Where are you going?"
"Cosmopolitan."
"No, you don't have a home, you can only wander."
Hearing Li Tai's rebuttal, Xuanzang recited the Buddha's name again, "If the world could be better, the poor monk would also wish the county prince, despite his serious sins."
Xuanzang walked out of the academy. He first went to Chang'an City. Today, Chang'an City is missing a city wall and many houses have been built out of the city. There is a Zhuque Street here, with many traders and pedestrians coming and going.
There are no temples in Chang'an City, and there is no place for monks to stay.
After asking around, I found out that the Daci'en Temple had been demolished and converted into a school or medical center.
Xuanzang felt relieved that the old place of Buddhism had become a place that benefited the world.
Chang'an City is a place with many stories. These stories are about the Tian Khan, the Marquis of Lishan County, the transition of the Tang Dynasty, and the people's opposition to land annexation.
After living in Chang'an City for a month, Xuanzang often listened to people tell stories, all of which were stories from the Tang Dynasty.
It tells the story of the Tang Dynasty general Wang Xuance who led his troops to sweep across Tianzhu, making the proud Tang people invincible in the world.
King Aluonashun of Tianzhu died under the sword of Wang Xuance. They established the Tianzhu Protectorate in Tianzhu. The Tang Dynasty controlled the soldiers and horses of Tianzhu and obeyed the orders of the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty.
There is also a story that Li Yuanying, the king of Teng, was executed for treason, and the Tengwang Pavilion was preserved.
Ashinadur of Mobei marched further north, and he brought back white bear fur. According to rumors, it was donated by the king of the Far North to the new emperor of the Tang Dynasty.
The Tang Dynasty established the East China Sea Protectorate, and in the summer of the 18th year of Zhenguan, the seagoing ships equipped with Lishan steam engines began to be trialled.
There is also the story of Songtsan Gampo and the Marquis of Lishan County. The battle between Tibet and Tang Dynasty for many years is very interesting.
Songtsen Gampo of Tubo was a rival to the Marquis of Lishan County, but later became friends, and later Songtsen Gampo returned to Tibet.
Wen Ting's atrocities against the Japanese slaves were finally known to the new emperor.
Later, Wen Ting handed over the East China Sea and handed it over to North Korea and China for control, and built the East China Sea Protectorate.
The emperor wanted to give him the official position of Protector of the East China Sea, but Wen Ting refused. He only wanted to work in the Hongwen Hall in Chang'an City, where he could tell the students here about the situation in the East China Sea, his experience of crossing the sea, and what the outside world was like.
Datang's pace has not stopped, Datang will continue to expand and move forward.
But that's all for the future.
Monk Xuanzang listened to people's stories in a post house. There were endless stories about the Tang people, and there were many more.
A young monk invited Xuanzang to Yangzhou.
After that Xuanzang's whereabouts are unknown.
Xuanzang later stayed at Guoqing Temple and heard the story of Hui Kuang and the Marquis of Lishan County.
For the sake of the scriptures handed down from ancient times, Hui Kuang exhausted all his wealth but was unable to buy Lishan's papermaking and printing technology.
I remember all the things Hui Kuang did with him.
Xuanzang said: "Before traveling to the west, it was he who enlightened and enlightened the poor monks."
Xuanzang choked with sobs while holding the monk's robes.
He said slowly: "The elder has been waiting for the poor monk to return from his journey to the west. It was because the poor monk insisted on his own opinion and refused to return to secular life that he could not deliver the scriptures, which is why he died in such a depressed state."
After that, Xuanzang spent several years mourning this eminent monk, and never got involved in worldly affairs. He lived in seclusion in Guoqing Temple, and no one outside knew about the life and death of this monk Xuanzang.
Rumor has it that Monk Xuanzang is really crazy. He no longer knows who he is and what he has been persisting in all his life for.
Some people also say that monk Xuanzang died of illness on the way.
Some people even say that Xuanzang was assassinated because the country did not tolerate him.
