Chapter Eleven: Longbottom's Toad

The train was moving slowly, and outside the window was no longer the city scene of London, but fields and pastures.

At about twelve o'clock, along with a loud noise, an old woman with a smile opened the door of their compartment and asked: "Honey, do you want to buy something to eat?"

Breakfast seemed like a long time ago. Tom jumped up and quickly came to the corridor.

"Mum has prepared a lunch -" Hermione's words failed to catch up with Tom's speed.

Tom bought two packs of Big Beans, a few chocolate frogs, pumpkin pie, pot cakes, and other miscellaneous foods from the old woman, all for less than three silvers.

Tom carried the groceries he bought into the compartment and dumped them onto an empty seat. Hermione looked at him from the side.

"Are you hungry?"

"Hmm." Tom found a pumpkin pie and took a big bite.

"I also have a lunch box here." Hermione took out two crisper boxes and a thermos cup from her backpack, which were filled with ham and egg sandwiches and salad. The thermos cup was filled with hot black tea.

Tom also handed the snacks he bought to Hermione, and the two of them munched together.

Hermione picked up a chocolate frog.

"What is this? Is there frog-shaped chocolate inside?" She opened a box, and inside was a lifelike chocolate frog. As soon as the box was opened, it twisted and kicked its legs in front of Hermione's stunned eyes.

, jumped right in her face, scaring her so much that she screamed. But Tom had quick eyesight and quick hands, and he caught the dishonest chocolate frog with a snap, then put it into his mouth and started chewing it.

.

"The taste is okay, the taste of milk chocolate is average, and it still moves in the mouth." Tom made a positive evaluation of this chocolate frog.

Hermione also regained her composure. When she heard Tom's words, the corner of her mouth twitched, and she pretended not to hear and studied the picture that came with the box. On the picture was Dumbledore's face, with his achievements written below.

.

"He is really amazing." Hermione admired from the bottom of her heart after reading Dumbledore's life achievements.

"Yeah," Tom nodded perfunctorily, and then opened a bag of Bibi multi-flavor beans, "Beans with various flavors, would you like some?"

This magical bean allowed them to enjoy a lot. It has various strange flavors such as chocolate, mints, marmalade, toast, coconut, pepper, strawberry, curry, grass, sardine, etc. It feels like every bean is eaten.

A completely new experience.

The sliding door of the compartment was opened again. This time a round-faced boy with red and swollen eyes came in.

"Excuse me," he said, "I wanted to ask, have you seen my toad?"

Tom and Hermione both shook their heads, and he burst into tears.

"I lost it again! It keeps trying to run away from me!"

"It will come back." Tom comforted him calmly.

"Yes, then, if you see..."

"Let's go find it for you." Facing strangers, Hermione returned to her slightly arrogant and arrogant look, but her words were heartwarming. At least the round-faced boy seemed touched.

"What does that toad look like? When was the last time you saw it? By the way, my name is Hermione Granger, and this is Tom Yoder. What's your name?" Hermione said rapidly.

It seemed like a bunch of questions were raised.

The round-faced boy looked a little confused, and in the end he just stuttered and told them that his name was Neville Longbottom.

"Okay, Neville, let's go help you find your toad." Hermione became excited all of a sudden, and she pulled Tom up.

"In this way, we will search separately," Hermione quickly made up her mind. "I have read in books that toads generally like to live in damp and dark places. We should also pay attention to such places on the road."

"Neville, there is actually a way, but it requires you to pay some money." Tom suddenly said, attracting the attention of the two people, "We can go to the grandma who just pushed the small dining cart and ask her to inform the other boxes.

Little wizard, anyone who finds your toad can exchange three Siko snacks from her. If you don't want snacks, you can come to our box and I can tell them a hidden place in Hogwarts."

"Great!" Neville immediately accepted the proposal and ran all the way to find the old woman.

"What hiding place?" Hermione's eyes were full of curiosity.

"I happen to know where the school kitchen is," Tom raised his eyebrows and winked. "The little wizard who gets the news will be in luck."

"Then we still have to help Neville find toads?" Hermione asked.

"If you want to move around, that's no problem."

So the two of them walked together and asked each box along the way.

"Daisies, sweet cream and sunshine, turn this stupid fat mouse yellow!" When Tom opened the door of a box, the red-haired boy inside was holding his wand and casting a spell on a fat gray mouse.

.

But nothing happened. The mouse was still gray and twitching in its sleep.

Hermione, who was watching the whole process from the sidelines, had an expression on her face: "What are you doing?"

"Are you sure that's really a spell?" she asked. "It doesn't look like much, does it?"

At this point, the corners of her mouth curled up: "I have also tried a few simple spells at home, but they are all very useful."

She walked to the opposite side of the black-haired boy in the box, took out her wand and pointed at his glasses: "For example, Oculus Reparo"

The next moment, all the dust on the boy's glasses disappeared.

"Much better, isn't it?"

Both people in the box showed surprised expressions.

"No one in my family knows magic, so when I received the admission notice, I was very surprised, but also very happy, because, I mean, Hogwarts is the best magic school, and I also

Previewed all the textbooks - Oh, by the way, my name is Hermione Granger, and he is Tom Yoder, what is your name? By the way, have you seen Neville's toad?"

After Hermione showed off a little about the spells she had learned, she remembered what she wanted to do and hurriedly asked the two of them.

"My name is Ron Weasley, we didn't see any toads..." the red-haired boy muttered.

"Harry Potter." said the boy with glasses.

Hermione's eyes lit up: "Is it really you? Oh my god, I know everything about you - I bought a few more books, "Modern History of Magic", "The Rise and Fall of Dark Magic", "Twenty

"Important Magical Events of the Century", you are mentioned in these books."

Harry and Ron looked at each other, and Ron even made a face.

"Okay, let's go find Neville's toad credit first." Hermione chatted with them for a while, but found that they didn't agree with each other, so she left with Tom.

Oh, by the way, you have a piece of dirt on your nose, did you know?" She said something to Ron again when she went out, and pointed at the tip of her nose, and Ron glared at her angrily.

"Bless Merlin, she won't be in the same house as us!" Ron complained to Harry after the two left.
