Chapter 9 The Sorting Hat's New Song

The hat twisted, a mouth-like gap opened in the brim, and then it began to sing:

[I was a new hat a long time ago, before Hogwarts was built;

The four founders of Hogwarts want to build the best magic school in the world.

The situation of wizards at that time was not good. The noose of the church and the guillotine of the king!

Difficulties and obstacles cannot be a shackles, and Hogwarts was quickly built.

Friendship is sincere and strong, teaching is pleasant and harmonious;

The goblin war was calmed down, and the enemy's tentacles were mercilessly cut off.

The singing and dancing in the auditorium cannot stop for a while, and there are always endless delicacies on the dining table!

The fire of wisdom burns brightly in the classroom, and the song of courage resounds throughout the sky!

Pure blood, wise mind, extraordinary courage, and equal thoughts.

It is difficult to have both noble qualities, and differences bring about petty quarrels.

Disputes and conflicts are getting worse, and the school is in decline and about to collapse.

Countless quarrels, endless battles,

Good friends in the past have turned against each other, and old enemies have returned.

Blood and fire, soldiers and fighting.

The dispute finally subsided, but Slytherin chose to leave.

Live in harmony, unite as one, work together to defeat differences, and fight against each other.

The era of wizards has passed, and a new era has not yet arrived.

A storm is approaching. Can a house with broken pillars be sheltered from the wind and rain?

Know the danger, read the signs, and the lessons of history give us warnings!

The enemies outside the school are watching with eager eyes, but the students inside are ignorant;

The great and powerful predecessors will provide us with the final cover,

We still have time to enjoy one last feast, or to sharpen our swords and guns.

I've spoken out to you, I've sounded the alarm for you.

Remember the motto left to us by the Big Four:

Courage! Wisdom! Pride! Tolerance!

The sun sets in the west, the bright moon rises in the east, the sun and the moon alternate, the new and the old are consistent.

Come on, wear me! Don't be afraid! Don't panic!

Leave everything to me, because I am a thinking magic hat!]

The hat stood still again, and after a moment of silence, applause mixed with whispers erupted in the auditorium.

In the auditorium, the students were all whispering to the people around them. Tom clapped his hands like the others, but he had a lot of things to say.

"There seems to be something wrong with this year's song?" Hermione raised her eyebrows. Generally speaking, the Sorting Hat is only responsible for describing the qualities that the four houses focus on and the style of the house. Finally, it indicates that it will sort the students into different houses.

It is not the Sorting Hat's job to give advice to the school.

There was a trace of uneasiness in Hermione's voice, "There have been too many strange things this year. I wonder if this hat has issued similar warnings before?" Hermione looked at Raven, who had just floated in and sat next to Tom.

The Ghost of Crow Academy, Ms. Grey.

"Yes, it has been issued." She said coldly, "When the Sorting Hat feels it has the responsibility to warn the school, it will do this -"

She stopped talking because Professor McGonagall took out a roll of parchment and glared sternly at the students who were whispering in the audience. Everyone shut their mouths knowingly - Principal Dumbledore was not here, and Professor McGonagall was.

The first person in the school.

Tom sat quietly in the audience, listening to Professor McGonagall calling the freshmen to the stage one by one, putting the sorting hat on their heads, and sorting them into the house that best suited them.

His hands began to become restless, first slipping under the table, and then climbing up Hermione's thigh - he wanted to write and draw on it, but Hermione's hand held it. He could only do the next best thing.

, written in the palm of Hermione's hand: When soldiers come, they will be blocked, and when water comes, soil will cover them up (Note)

Hermione felt itchy in her palms, but she still understood what Tom said, so she replied: We can always trust Dumbledore.

Ms. Gray noticed the little actions of the two people, glanced at Tom who was enjoying it, rolled her eyes, turned away and ignored the two people.

When the last new student learned about his college, the sorting ceremony ended.

Professor McGonagall put away the Sorting Hat, moved the four-corner stool aside, and once again stood in front of the podium where Dumbledore usually spoke.

"Before everyone enjoys the sumptuous dinner, I want to say a few words." Professor McGonagall cleared her throat. After the noise in the auditorium disappeared, she spoke: "I saw many students because of Dumbledore.

I feel confused because of the absence of the professor. I think it is better to talk about this matter to avoid everyone being suspicious. Professor Dumbledore has many things going on all day long. There are many important things in the wizarding world that need him to make decisions. Today he has an important meeting that he cannot escape from.

, so let me host the opening ceremony on his behalf, and you can see Principal Dumbledore enjoying breakfast pudding here tomorrow."

Hearing that it was a temporary matter, the little wizards felt relieved, and a trace of doubt flashed in their hearts: What kind of meeting would make Professor Dumbledore attend even though he would rather miss the opening ceremony?

After giving the little wizards some reassurance, Professor McGonagall continued: "You must already know that the dementors from Azkaban searched the Hogwarts Express this afternoon. I'm very sorry.

Let me tell you that this school year the school will receive a number of dementors who will be performing official duties for the Ministry of Magic."

After saying this, Professor McGonagall's face darkened a bit. Dumbledore, her and the school's professors were actually very unhappy about the dementors guarding the school, but they couldn't shirk it.

"Every passage in and out of the school will be guarded by dementors. I must make it clear to you in advance that no one is allowed to leave the school without permission. All kinds of tricks or disguises cannot deceive the dementors - even if they are

Not even the Invisibility Cloak." Professor McGonagall didn't look at anyone when she said this, but both Harry and Ron knew that this was meant for them.

"Dementors are different from wizards. They cannot understand requests or excuses. They have their own way of behaving. Therefore, I warn you: Do not give them any chance or reason to harm you. The prefects of each college and the newly appointed male and female student councils

The chairman must take responsibility and ensure that no student will conflict with the dementors."

Percy, who was sitting at the long table in Gryffindor House, puffed up his chest and looked around seriously. At this time, no one in the entire auditorium made a sound, and everyone fell into silence.

"The following are two pieces of good news," Professor McGonagall adjusted her mood and continued, "This year, our teaching team has welcomed two new members. I am very happy to welcome two new colleagues."

"Two?" The young wizards in the audience were stunned. There was nothing surprising about a new professor, because the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts was born last year, but who was the second professor?

Their eyes wandered around the faculty bench, and finally locked on an opening.
