There are two ways for an eminent monk to pass away.
First, after becoming a physical Buddha, he will be enshrined in temples and worshiped by believers.
Another method is cremation. After the death of an eminent monk who has achieved enlightenment, relics will be condensed into relics, which are valuable Buddhist treasures and are hard to find for outsiders.
In addition to the relics, the body of the eminent monks will also be burned into ashes. Although the ashes are not as valuable as the relics, the ashes of eminent monks with profound Buddhist teachings are inaccessible to all evil spirits and are inaccessible to demons and ghosts. They have similar functions to Taoist ritual instruments. If Buddhist believers live in their homes
Being able to enshrine the ashes of such a small number of eminent monks after their death can ensure peace in the family for several generations.
The ashes that the old monk handed over to the old Tao contained the ashes of Master Mingjing of the Xuankong Temple who passed away at the age of ninety-nine twenty years ago. This time, in order to suppress the evil things in the old tomb at the west end of Xiangjiatun, the ashes were specially removed from the Xuankong Temple.
The temple brought it over.
Master Mingjing of Xuankong Temple is not well-known in the world, and few people even know it, so there are not many believers. This is related to the way things are done in Xuankong Temple. There are very few monks in the temple, only a dozen monks from three generations, and those who join the world to practice every year
Then there are only two or three people, and they never use Dharma names in the world. Over time, most people in the world don't know which temple Xuankong Temple is, and only some senior monks in the world know it.
However, the monks of Xuankong Temple are very famous in Buddhism and are respected by many eminent monks. Master Mingjing is recognized as the most profound one in Buddhism.
Admired by eminent monks.
During his lifetime, Master Mingjing came into the world and did three things that shocked Buddhism. These three times he entered the world directly established Mingjing's lofty status in Buddhism.
The first time was when he was young. The country was devastated by war and there were corpses all over the place. The people were in dire straits. Master Mingjing left the Xuankong Temple at the age of twenty-three and walked around the world. Whenever he went to a battlefield or a place with many dead people, Master Mingjing would
Start to save the dead souls, and will not leave until all the wronged souls are saved.
This time, Mingjing stayed in the world for eleven years and did not return to the Hanging Temple. He saved countless dead souls. In more than ten years, he traveled to almost all the war-torn areas in the country.
The second time was when Master Mingjing came out of the mountain again when he was fifty years old and went to India. He followed the example of Master Xuanzang in seeking scriptures from the West. He practiced asceticism for a total of eight years and obtained several Buddhist scriptures from the Nalanda Temple in India that were scarce in domestic temples.
Scroll the scriptures and then publish them to the public for monks in the country to practice the scriptures.
The last time Master Mingjing entered the world was when an earthquake occurred in Tangshan in the mid-1970s. He came out of Xuankong Temple and sat in the center of the earthquake in Tangshan. He continued to meditate on scriptures for 81 days to save the ordinary people who died in the earthquake.
Only when there are no more innocent souls wandering in the world in Tangshan will he return to the mountain.
During these three times when Master Mingjing became a Buddhist monk, he was admired by many eminent monks in Buddhism. Even he himself did not know how many dead souls he had saved. It can be said that he has created supreme merits that no monk has achieved in Buddhism for many years.
Moreover, after Mingjing's death, he originally had the opportunity to sit down and transform into a physical Buddha and then be molded into a golden body and stored in the temple for worship. However, Mingjing requested that he be cremated into ashes after his death, and then the condensed relics were placed in the temple.
There are several extremely dangerous places to suppress evil things, and he also stated that if his ashes are needed anywhere, they can be taken out at any time to suppress them.
Therefore, this time, the old Taoist left Xiangjiatun for more than half a month, and went to Xuankong Temple. Firstly, he asked the monk who practiced closed-mouth meditation to come out and join him to suppress Laofeng. Secondly, he hoped to bring some of the ashes of Master Mingjing to be used for feng shui.
For array use.
After the old Taoist took the jar containing the ashes of Master Mingjing, he took out five small flags with the words "Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth" from his Taoist robe. When the old monk next to him saw this, his eyes suddenly lit up.
"I have spent a lot of money, and I am not merciless at all." The old Taoist sighed sadly, and said: "Our ancient well temple does not have many magical weapons in the world, only a few, and this time I brought this
After a few flags, there are not many treasures left. Where is the Hanging Temple? The temple has been built for thousands of years and has left countless Buddhist treasures. I can give it to you without a toothache. Hey, it’s really hard to compare people to each other.
ah"
The old Taoist took out the flag and threw it casually, and the flags with the five elements printed on them were placed in five directions around the old tomb. As soon as the flag was placed on the ground, the entire Xishan area suddenly trembled, and he could clearly feel the pressure under his feet.
The land seems to have moved.
"I want to change the trend of the entire mountain range. This place is not far from the palace that Nurhaci built in Shenyang. It is because of the presence of dragon veins in this area. Although it is not as impressive as the dragon veins in the capital, after all, this mountain range also has a dragon son.
Ah, besides, Nurhaci has condensed a lot of imperial energy in Shenyang, can he use it?" The old Taoist muttered, burying the ashes of Master Mingjing next to the five-pole flag, and then said: "I want to spread the five elements.
The Yin Locking Formation draws the Dragon Vein Emperor Qi here to suppress the evil things in the old tomb. The ashes of Master Mingjing can even help me. Even when the ghost gate opens every year when the Yin Qi is the strongest, the things inside will never be able to flush it out.
come out"
Every year, the 14th day of the seventh lunar month is the Ghost Festival, also called the Ghost Festival. On this day, the connection between the world and the underworld will be opened wide. After eleven o'clock, evil things will wander around the world, and ghosts will be rampant.
The yin energy is very strong on this day, and all kinds of monsters and monsters have the ability to appear, and this day is also the best time for those evil things to come out and jump around.
After planting the flag and burying the ashes, the old Taoist said to the monk again: "Don't be idle anymore. Use your Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Original Vow Sutra to bless me with the power of the talisman. It is best to engrave me the Six Envoys of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva."
Come in, this requires some skills, can you do it?"
The old monk nodded slightly and clasped his hands together. The old monk's eyes widened and he said with some disbelief: "I just said that casually, but I didn't expect you to be able to imprint the six envoys. This requires the cooperation of at least three eminent monks."
It can only be engraved by taking action. Monks don't lie! Bald donkey, if you didn't lie to me, I could at least suppress the things in this old grave until twenty-five years later."
The old monk remained silent. The old Taoist shook his head "Tsk, tsk, tsk". Then he took out six talismans and spread them out in front of him. He bit his middle finger and squeezed out the blood and then began to write the talismans on the talisman paper. After drawing the six talismans, the old monk explained
He opened his cassock and moved his index finger continuously, and the cassock was cut into six parts. At the same time, his tightly closed mouth seemed to be chanting Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Original Vow Sutra.
As the scriptures were recited, the six Ksitigarbha messengers gradually appeared on the six cassocks.
The outlines of the Flame Messenger, the Treasure-Holding Boy, the Powerful Messenger, the Compassionate Goddess, the Treasure Goddess, and the Angel-catcher were engraved on the cassock in turn.
The old Taoist took the cassock with some excitement, then stepped on the Bagua position, made frequent seals with his right hand, and embedded the talisman and the cassock into the Five Elements Locking Yin Feng Shui Formation with his left hand.
"This formation is absolutely domineering. It can suppress the evil creatures in the old grave for twenty-five years, which is more than enough!"
