Chapter 2003: Narrow Enemy Road

Everyone present did not expect such a scene to happen. Line Leader Yang was a manager after all, but he was fired by Mr. Ye with just one sentence.

Line Leader Yang was naturally a little confused. He looked at Mr. Ye blankly and said, "Mr. Ye, are you kidding me?"

Mr. Ye looked at him seriously and said, "Who is joking with you? Now, go to the finance room to check out and leave immediately."

"Mr. Ye, I..."

"I don't want to hear another word from you, leave now!"

Line Commander Yang gave me a very angry look, as if he wanted to kill me.

What was even more unexpected was that after Line Leader Yang was fired, many employees who were watching were so excited that they clapped. It seemed that they were usually so oppressed that they had no human rights at all.

After Line Leader Yang left, Mr. Ye said to all the employees: "Everyone should go back to their respective posts and stop watching the excitement."

After everyone dispersed, Mr. Ye walked up to me again and said to me, "Okay, let's go back to work."

I smiled stiffly and said, "Mr. Ye, is it inappropriate to fire a manager just because I am a temporary worker?"

"This is my business. You don't have to think about it. Just go back to work. It'll be fine."

I won’t say any more, everyone is like this, and if I still look for trouble, that’s my problem.

After I said "thank you" to her, I returned to my previous post.

Unexpectedly, many employees gave me a thumbs up, saying that they didn’t expect that line leader Yang, who was so high-minded every day, would be dealt with by a temporary worker like me.

In fact, it was not me who dealt with him, but Mr. Ye. I was just the one who stirred up trouble.

But listening to their complaints, they were often bullied by line leader Yang. He was often asked to do other things and even harassed some female colleagues on the line.

Everyone has long been fed up with it, but he is the manager here.

But everyone didn't expect that Mr. Ye would suddenly come today, and she happened to bump into this scene.

Listening to their chat, I learned that Mr. Ye is the boss of this logistics company, but she is not only involved in this company, so she rarely comes here.

When I got back online, I continued to work. Naturally, I would not be careless about the work I was supposed to do.

When it was time to eat, I followed Sister Huang to the company canteen. Because I was a temporary worker and didn’t have a meal card, Sister Huang used her meal card to buy me a meal.

While we were eating and chatting, Sister Huang asked me: "Xiao Chen, where are you from?"

I shook my head and said, "I don't know, Sister Huang."

"You don't know where you are from?" Sister Huang looked at me in surprise.

I nodded again and said, "Well, not only do I not know where I am, I don't even know my name. I encountered something before that caused me to lose my memory."

"Ah!" Sister Huang was surprised, "Then... you can go to the police to verify your identity!"

"I went there, and the police said they couldn't register my fingerprints. They just registered me and said they would notify me if there is any news."

Sister Huang said "Oh" and said solemnly: "Then where do you live now?"

"I live in the rescue center that the police found for me. I have been waiting for several days and there has been no news from the police. I also have no money, so I came out to find something to do."

"That's it!" Sister Huang thought thoughtfully for a while and then said to me, "I have a two-bedroom house in the North District. Why don't you go and live there first."

I smiled and said, "No need, Sister Huang. I live in the rescue station, which is pretty good."

"Hey, you kid, I know that the rescue station is inconvenient. And you don't know when there will be news at this moment. You can't live in the rescue station all the time, right?"

To be honest, I can't wait forever, I at least need to stabilize myself first.

Seeing my silence, Sister Huang said to me again: "I know you don't have money now, so don't think about money first and go and stay first."

"Sister Huang, how embarrassing is this!"

"It's okay. You're quite right, little brother. Go and stay first. Before the police notify you, you have to survive first!"

That's right. I nodded and said with a smile: "Thank you very much, Sister Huang. I will still pay you the rent as usual, but I will have to wait until I have money."

"It's okay, don't worry about that. You go and live there first. However, I have to tell you first. There is a tenant in that house now. She is not renting it out as a whole. You just don't disturb each other."

"Ok, I know."

After get off work that day, Sister Huang took me to her apartment in the North District.

The house is an old-fashioned residential building from the 1970s and 1980s, and there is no elevator. Climbing up to the seventh floor in one breath is like a workout.

The room is quite spacious and tidy.

Sister Huang also bought me a quilt and some simple daily necessities, and asked me to stay there first without thinking too much about it. The police will definitely investigate my identity clearly.

Sister Huang also told me that the person living here is a girl, but she is not at home most of the time.

I'm quite awkward as a girl. After all, it would be hard to get used to getting along with her in the future!

Fortunately, Sister Huang said she doesn't come often, which is good.

After Sister Huang made arrangements for me, she told me that if I had anything to do, I could just contact her. She lived not far from here.

That night, Sister Huang invited me to her home for dinner and treated me like one of her own family members.

I was also moved by this kind of good impression that I had never met before. Sister Huang's family are all good people. They have always cared about my life problems, gave me money, and asked me to stabilize first.

But I didn't want it. I'm very handy and now I have a place to live, so I don't have to worry.

It was already ten o'clock in the evening when I returned to my apartment from Sister Huang's house. I bought some daily necessities in the convenience store downstairs, including toothpaste, toothbrushes, washcloths and so on.

When I returned to my residence, I opened the door and found that the light was on.

I thought I had forgotten to turn it off before I left. When I turned around, I found someone standing on the balcony.

It's a woman, talking on the phone.

From the back, she looks like a girl with a good figure.

It must be the roommate that Sister Huang was talking about. The sound of my opening the door also caught her attention. She put down her phone and turned to look at me.

Just at this glance, I was immediately stunned, opened my mouth, and looked at her in disbelief.

And she was petrified on the spot, looking at me dumbfounded.

No one expected that she was the girl who failed to blackmail me on the train that day!

It was so dramatic, almost like a dream.

Who would have thought of this?

Is it fate, or is it just enemies?

I think she must have the same mentality as me at the moment.

We just stared at each other for at least a minute before I took the initiative and said, "Is it you!?"

"You followed me on purpose, right?" she asked.

I laughed: "Are you mistaken? Why am I following you? Besides, you have never come back. How did I know you live here?"

She looked at me up and down with an expression of disbelief, and was full of vigilance at the same time.

I shook my head and said in disbelief: "It's a narrow road! This is beyond my imagination."
