Chapter 802 Thousand years of world-weariness
In the modern world, at the top of Yuxu Peak, Lu Cheng made full preparations to open up a small world of skulls.
He sent 500 tons of gold powder to Lu You and Lu Chan respectively, which was enough for them to consume for many years. A total of 1,000 tons of gold powder is considered a big deal!
He contacted Jiang Qiuyun, Lu Qingshan, Guan Sangyue, Guan Qingfeng, Lu Xinghuan and Lu Xuanku, and explained to everyone, saying that he would go into seclusion for a long time, at least one Jiazi, or two or three Jiazi.
After a long time, his figure did not appear in the human world.
Jiang Qiuyun handed over the work of imitating the purple sash fairy clothes to Tao Qianqian, handed over the task of studying the soul lamp to his daughter Lu Qingyan and his son-in-law Ling Shiyan, and handed over the work of studying the Yin-Yang Mirror Runes to Mei Lingshang and Lu Songxi.
Two years have passed in a blink of an eye.
In the summer of 2755, Lu Laoquan completed all the courses and obtained three doctoral degrees.
On July 7, he and Yu Wanyue held a wedding at Lingyin Villa.
The wedding was very lively, with thousands of guests coming. Because Bai Snake and Lu Yideng are both famous people all over the world, they have made too many friends.
In comparison, the young couple Lu Laoquan and Yu Wanyue were unsatisfactory and did not even have any outstanding achievements! It is useless to get three doctors! Doctors are just past backgrounds and do not represent contributions made.
People have a relatively low evaluation of Lu Laoquan, saying that "a tiger father produces a dog son" and "White Snake's son is very ordinary."
In fact, Lu Laoquan is already the fifth level of the innate cultivator. No matter which sect he gets, he is an amazing elite talent. He just keeps a low profile and doesn't show it.
He wants to be a traveler and an explorer. The more dormant he is, the longer he can live.
After they got married, they started traveling in China. The places they went to were basically famous mountains and rivers, and they lived here for a few months and lived there for a few months. They did not go abroad or to remote areas, which was less dangerous.
Before he knew it, 10 years passed, in 2765, Lu Laoquan cultivated the golden elixir, and he was only 38 years old this year.
After waiting for another seven years, Yu Wanyue advanced to the Golden Pill.
Then, the two returned to Chang'an and settled in Yunzhu Villa.
In 2774, their son Lu Wenbo was born.
In a blink of an eye, seven years have passed, and Lu Laoquan has advanced to the third level of the Golden Pill, and has begun to leave his home and go to explore around the world.
Yu Wanyue did not follow him, but went to Lingyin Villa and asked her son and grandfather Lu Yideng to learn Confucianism.
Lu Wenbo started practicing martial arts at the age of 6, Confucianism at the age of 7, witchcraft at the age of 9, and learned from several old men at the age of 12. The life path of the 15th generation eldest son of the Lu family has begun again.
Some people have rebirth, and some people have moved towards aging.
On the first floor of Yuxu Peak, there are several specially decorated garden villas. Jiang Qiuyun's father Jiang Fangsheng, Lu Cheng's father Lu Tianming, and mother Rao Yuqiu both live here.
They did not advance to the Golden Pill, but they had lived to be 800 years old, and were supported by the abundant spiritual energy on the Sushou Pill and Yuxu Peak.
At this time, Jiang Fangsheng was already old, his white beard drooped to his chest, walked to the table tremblingly, spread out rice paper and started writing.
He has to write a piece of characters every day. He has been writing for nearly 800 years and all the characters have been collected.
This time he wrote Su Shi's poem: "The world is a big dream, how many autumns will be in life? The wind and leaves are roaring at the corridor at night, and you can see the eyebrows and temples. The wine is low and the guests are often sad, and the moon is bright and the clouds are hindered. Who can share the lonely light with you in the Mid-Autumn Festival? Look north with you sadly."
After writing, he said to the maid who served him, "Qingxi, go and call Qiuyun."
This maid is not an ordinary woman invited from outside, but a descendant of the Lu family's side branch, belonging to the 26th generation of the Lu family. The side branch reproduces very quickly, and the fastest one has reached the 30th generation (Lu Cheng is 780 years old, calculated as a 25-year-old generation), and the legitimate branch has only reached the 15th generation.
Lu Qingxi hurriedly reported to Jiang Qiuyun.
Jiang Qiuyun rushed over and looked at the words spread on the table. She had a bad premonition: "Dad, how are you in good health? Have you taken the nectar water I gave you a few days ago?"
Jiang Fangsheng shook his head and said, "I have lived long enough. Since your mother left, I have lived for another 400 years, and the more I live, the more I feel lonely."
Jiang Qiuyun blamed herself: "Dad, it's all my fault. She only cares about cultivating immortals by herself and does not take good care of you."
Jiang Fangsheng said leisurely: "I don't blame you. If you don't have a new year, it's hard to get back in the morning. We should encourage you in time, and time will not wait for others. I have lived enough, so it's better to go back!"
"Dad, don't think so. Drinking nectar water can lead to immortality!"
"Zhuangzi said: 'I've been tired of the world for thousands of years, and I'll be immortal'. I lived 800 years old, and I'm the same age as Peng Zu. Peng Zu has left. What should I do in the world? I've experienced all the things I should go through, and there's nothing to nostalgic about. I'll leave my body, maybe my soul is immortal, and I can go to another world."
Jiang Qiuyun persuaded Jiang Fangsheng to leave with all kinds of advice!
Jiang Qiuyun hesitated whether to force her to pour nectar water on her father. With her skills in the fifth level of the Heavenly Witch, it is not difficult to restrain her father. However, doing so goes against her father's wishes.
There is no doubt that people have the right to choose death. Even if the whole world disagrees, a person can still choose this path, as long as he no longer cares about the world, as long as he is determined enough!
Because Lu Cheng was not here, Jiang Qiuyun called his son Lu Qingshan and daughter Lu Qingyan.
The three of them persuaded each other, and Jiang Fangsheng was impatient and agreed temporarily.
However, that night, he passed away!
Jiang Fangsheng was sick and disaster-free, and his face was peaceful. He was not a Buddhist monk, but a Confucian scholar.
The Confucian view of life and death focuses on life, not after death. If one can preserve one's original heart and realize the requirements of the way of heaven, it doesn't matter whether one's life or longevity is.
Confucianism believes that although human life is limited, the spirit can last forever and immortal. There is a saying of "Three Immortality": "The Supreme One has established virtue, secondly, made merit, and secondly, made words. Even if it is not abandoned for a long time, this is called immortality."
Confucianism does not regard death as a suffering, but regards "being uncultivated by virtue and not speaking by learning" as personal pain. The greater pain comes from the failure to realize its social ideals.
Lu You, a writer in the Southern Song Dynasty, wrote a poem before his death: "I know that everything is empty after death, but I am sad that I will not see the same people as the nine provinces. The king's army settled in the north on the Central Plains, and I will never forget to tell my husband about his family sacrifices." The pain before his death was that he could not see the unification of the Song Dynasty.
Wen Tianxiang wrote a poem before his execution: "Since ancient times, no one has died, let the loyalty shine in history!"
Therefore, for Confucianism, pain does not depend on how to die, but on whether one can achieve “benevolence”, “seeking righteousness”, and “suffering from failure to accomplish virtue and karma.”
Jiang Fangsheng was not a standard Confucian scholar. He did not have the grand ambition to save the people, nor did he cultivate the qi that was full of energy. Therefore, he felt that living in the world was boring and it was better to go back!
