Volume 7 has chapter 110, and the word count is basically the same as the previous volumes.
In general, the "Liangzhou Chapter" in the seventh volume can be regarded as a transition. There are not many contradictions and conflicts in it. The main purpose is to set up the plot for the subsequent plot.
Including the Sun Eclipse Pearl, the love triangle between Chu Xianping, Li Zimu, and Tang Chen, the mystery of whether Chu Xianping rebelled, and the Battle of the Four Kingdoms. These are only partially advanced and will be given in the next volume.
Answers and endings.
Many readers may have discovered that the last few chapters of Volume 7 basically don't have anything to do with Wei Changtian, they are all about Li Zimu and Tang Chen.
This...actually I was a little too excited to write and couldn't stop writing.
It will be adjusted later.
After all, I still know who the protagonist is.
Um......
There isn’t much to say about the plot, otherwise it will most likely be spoilers, so that’s it for now.
Say something else.
On July 16 last year, the first chapter of "The Big Villain" was released, and one year and ten days have passed today.
One year, 1.6 million words, not too much.
But readers who read more carefully should be able to find that my books are more thoughtful than ordinary online articles.
The "careful" here refers to some very ordinary details.
For example, I will deliberately avoid repetitive words, the connection of paragraphs, the design of transitions, the complete narrative of each chapter, etc.
If you read these things at a glance, you may not feel it, and they have nothing to do with the plot.
But I always feel that improving the reading experience to the best of my ability is what I should do.
Although most people may not notice it...but they should be able to feel that it will read more smoothly...
Every time I read book reviews, I find that the most positive comment is "the writing is good".
In fact, there are really no long paragraphs of descriptions in my books, nor any gorgeous vocabulary and sentences.
So I think "the writing is good" probably because I put a lot of thought into improving the reading experience.
Use the simplest and most unpretentious words to describe the most accurate and appropriate emotions.
Of course, there are many details.
And this also caused my writing speed to never increase.
It’s really helpless!
I also tried whether to give up so many details and just write the plot like others.
In fact, it is very fast to write pictures this way, and the efficiency can be almost doubled.
But after I finish writing, I go back and look at what I wrote. If I read it wholeheartedly, there really isn’t much difference.
But if you read it carefully, it's awkward everywhere.
So in the end I decided to forget it.
It is best to write honestly and in your own style and complete a work without regrets.
After all, the first book was quite a pity...
The above are some of my thoughts on the one-year anniversary of the release of "The Big Villain".
From interests, to hobbies, to part-time jobs, when I first wrote a book with more than a million words, which has never failed, it is difficult for me to evaluate what "writing" means to me.
What are you wearing?
Sometimes I get very excited about writing, thinking that this plot will be particularly shocking or embarrassing when written, and I feel that Lao Guan is simply a rising star in the literary world.
Sometimes I find it extremely painful to write, especially when I am not feeling well, or during the transition period when the plot is dull. Every word I type feels like I have completed the task, which is more tiring than working part-time.
I often want to turn off the computer, but I won’t be writing today. I want to go to bed!
But in order to get a perfect attendance bonus of 1,000 yuan per month, I had to grit my teeth and write.
Well... although one thousand is not much, this book has cost me a thousand dollars every month since it was put on the shelves.
As for why...
It’s not that I’m reluctant to part with the thousand dollars (actually, I’m a little reluctant to part with it), it’s mainly because I’m afraid that once I really let my own mood go, I might not be able to finish the book.
So unless I really encounter something that cannot be adjusted, or my body is particularly uncomfortable, I will sit in front of the computer and start typing after dinner every day until two o'clock in the middle of the night.
Slowly it became a habit.
Therefore, "writing" is no longer a hobby for me, it is just a habit similar to eating and sleeping.
As for making money from this...
To be honest, which internet author doesn’t want to become famous with one book and earn his or her wealth and freedom.
I had the same fantasy when I first wrote the book.
But I don't think so now.
The first book "I Just Want to Be a Good Person" had a high order of RMB 600 and an average order of 2 million. More than 700,000 words were unfinished and I earned a total of RMB 7,000 (of which RMB 4,500 was the perfect attendance award given by Qidian).
The second book, "The Big Villain", now has 1.6 million words, and the score has increased more than ten times.
Before writing the book, I felt that based on my years of experience in writing work, it would not be easy to make millions by writing online articles.
Obviously, in any industry, there are always geniuses who can hit it right the first time.
I've always thought I was one of them.
As long as I write, it will work.
But one day two years ago, when I saw another rejection email from the editor in my mailbox, and when I looked at hundreds of thousands of worthless scraps in my writing software, I realized -
Alas, it turns out I am not a genius.
In this case, let's take it slow.
As long as there is progress, ordinary people can also succeed.
In this way, I wrote for another two years.
Fortunately, I can see my progress.
Maybe a few years later, I can accept an interview with an unknown media as a "well-known online writer".
Then the host should ask me——
"Have you encountered any setbacks during your writing process? Have you ever thought about giving up?"
And I should be like most authors who have been interviewed, giving a very pretentious answer——
"It definitely happened, but I'm glad I persevered."
I guess by that time, I should have understood that this sentence was not actually a pretense, but a sincere feeling.
Speaking of this, I suddenly remembered an interesting thing.
About a month or two ago, I read a comment saying that someone copied my book on Tomato.
At that time, I immediately downloaded Tomato with an angry mood, and then found the book.
really.
I changed the character name and everything else is just copy and paste.
Before I clicked on the book, I was furious.
But when I opened the book and saw the familiar lines of text, I suddenly became happy for no reason.
I just think.
I never thought that one day, someone would plagiarize my book!
(Unfortunately, the person gave up after copying only a few dozen chapters. Maybe this book has no market in Tomato.)
(Gan!!)
...
ps: After so much sensationalism, it would be a bit embarrassing to ask for leave at this time, so there will be a chapter after 12 o'clock.
Oh, by the way, I haven’t posted a book club account for a long time.
