Chapter 258 Flying away from death

In an apartment in Devon, Nico was sitting in an armchair reading a book, his eyes falling on the mechanical clock by the fireplace from time to time. He was waiting for a visit from a friend, but there was no doubt that the other party was late.

After a moment, there was a knock on the door.

"Albus, it's rare that you are late sometimes."

The owner of the apartment opened the door and greeted the old man outside with a smile. Only this former friend could knock on the door of this apartment without touching the defensive magic.

"There are monitors." Dumbledore explained the reason for his lateness. "Several Muggles were controlled by the Imperius Curse. I spent some time sending them away."

"It seems that Voldemort has indeed set his sights on the Sorcerer's Stone." Nico looked helpless.

"He will never come in, right?" Perenal greeted the other party with a smile. The two of them have lived for hundreds of years, what big scene have they never seen?

"Yes, he is still very weak, and it is difficult to break through the protective magic on the outside." Dumbledore nodded, "But it is still a problem after all."

For the Flamel couple, their lives have not been greatly affected by this. They rarely go out anymore. Although the elixir made them immortal, their bodies have become fragile due to time.

The incident happened a month ago. Nico had a premonition of the coming threat, so he hurriedly left France and returned to the apartment in the UK that was protected by the Fidelity Charm.

The other party did not give up because of this, and still found the UK all the way, and finally met with failure before the Loyalty Curse.

Later, Dumbledore told Nico that the person looking for them was probably Voldemort, who probably wanted to use the Sorcerer's Stone to restore his power.

This is not good news.

The Flamel couple need to rely on the elixir made by the Philosopher's Stone to continue living. Once the Philosopher's Stone is taken away, their lives will come to an end.

They contacted Dumbledore, who expressed his willingness to help them solve this problem.

Because once Voldemort regains his strength with the help of the Philosopher's Stone and makes a comeback, the entire magical world may never have peace again.

"But how come you have time to come over? I remember today is the time for the alchemy party." Nico glanced at the purple invitation on the fireplace, "Sela will probably be very unhappy. I promised to meet last time.

Went to a party."

"I have participated several times before, but then I felt it was not interesting, so I stopped going." Dumbledore added three sugar cubes to his black tea, "No new people have joined for a long time."

"It seems that you haven't paid attention to this aspect for a long time. Sera told me that he found an outstanding child, as outstanding as you once were." Nico seemed not to take Voldemort's matter to heart.

"I know that his name is Albert Anderson. He is a very good boy and is very good at ancient magic texts." Dumbledore didn't pay much attention to Albert's affairs, but he still had a deep impression on him. "He

It's a bit like me. I often keep in touch with famous magic masters, and Hutok even suffered a big loss in front of him."

"Hutok?" Nico thought for a moment and suddenly said, "So that's it, it's that child!"

"Do you know him?" Dumbledore was surprised that Nico actually knew Albert.

"We met at the French Opera House, and Hertok asked me for a divination about Jinka," Nico explained.

"What happened to them later?" Perenaar was more concerned about the result. "Did Hutok get his gold card back?"

"Yes, they finally reconciled." Dumbledore smiled, "Huttok helped Mr. Anderson resolve the misunderstanding."

"We know why you are here. If you really need it, we can give you a magic stone." Nico sighed softly and brought the topic back. The magic stone is too important to them. Once the magic is lost,

Stone means death, and they will not take risks.

Of course, Nico also knew how much his friend valued Voldemort, and he didn't mind lending Dumbledore a piece.

"This." Perenal placed the Philosopher's Stone in front of Dumbledore.

"Is this a fake?" Dumbledore was very surprised, because he had seen the Philosopher's Stone before, and the piece in front of him was almost exactly the same as the Philosopher's Stone he had seen.

"Yes, this is a failure!" Nico grinned. "Even you can't tell the difference, right." In fact, the success of the Philosopher's Stone comes more from an accident. Even Nico

, and cannot be copied again. Although he created a similar magic stone, he cannot have the effect of the magic stone.

"This is a good idea." Dumbledore suddenly said after picking up the stone and observing it carefully, "But now is not the time."

"Isn't it time yet?" Nico repeated in confusion.

"Yes, it's not time yet." Dumbledore said: "I need to lure Voldemort out to see what is going on with him now. You know, almost no one can live like him, like a ghost, but not

ghost."

"As far as I know, there is a case that agrees with what you said." Perenal recalled the past: "According to records, the despicable Herbo was the first dark wizard on record to create a Horcrux."

"Despicable Haierbo?" Nico frowned slightly, obviously recalling bad memories.

"About two hundred years ago, we met him." Perenal's voice drifted further and further away, "Helbo didn't know where he found out about us and wanted to take away the magic stone. That's not a big deal.

It was such a pleasant thing, and later we defeated Haierbo with the help of some friends."

"Is Herbo dead?" Dumbledore asked.

"I don't know, maybe he's dead." Nico shook his head and said, "Later, we never heard any news about him again."

Horcrux.

Dumbledore naturally knew about this mysterious and evil black magic, and he had a collection of books related to Horcruxes in the Hogwarts library.

Of course, Dumbledore did not have any evidence to prove that Voldemort made Horcruxes.

Later, in the years after Voldemort disappeared, Dumbledore discovered traces of Voldemort in the Albanian forest. Various signs indicate that Voldemort was hit by the rebounded Avada Kedavra but was still alive, probably because of the Horcrux.

This is not a good sign. If the wizard who owns the Horcrux cannot find and destroy the Horcrux, he will not be able to kill him completely.

Even if ordinary wizards create Horcruxes, the threat is not great. After the physical body is destroyed, they will only become extremely weak, and in the end they can only live in humility.

But for a powerful wizard like Voldemort, even if he becomes weak, it is only temporary. He can always find many ways to regain his strength.

"What's wrong? You don't look good." Perenal looked at Dumbledore worriedly.

"If that's true, that's really bad news." Dumbledore sighed, "Based on my understanding of Voldemort, that crazy guy probably created more than one Horcrux."

"This is impossible." Nico frowned. "Cutting the soul will make the soul very unstable and create many Horcruxes, unless he is crazy."

"Yes, Voldemort is indeed a madman, think about the new name he gave himself."

Fly away... to die?
