Chapter 301 The Story of Quirinus Quirrell

The harsh winter is far away from Devon in March. The temperature is warming up, the snow is beginning to melt, buds are growing on the muddy and difficult-to-walk ground, and the earth is regaining its vitality.

A young man in a trench coat appeared without warning, stepped his newly broken teeth back into the soil, and walked slowly towards the house not far away.

With a creaking sound, the door of the house was pushed open.

"It seems that we need to find time to repair it." The young man murmured. He walked directly to the kitchen, hung the damp windbreaker on the hanger next to the fireplace, took out the wand from his pocket, and relit the fire.

A small black snake came out of the young man's trench coat pocket and came to the fireplace to warm himself by the fire.

It was not yet time for the snake to wake up from hibernation, but the young man had no choice, because he preferred to possess the snake rather than the mouse.

This young man's name is Quirinus Quirrell. He just returned to England from traveling around the world not long ago, and is currently preparing to go to Hogwarts to apply for the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor position.

This time, Quirrell didn't come back alone, there was him beside him.

Or rather, a snake.

Possessed by the little snake, he has had many names: the man who must not even be named, the Dark Lord, or...Voldemort.

Yes, the famous Voldemort.

Of course, in order to show his respect, Quirrell always called him master, which is the name given to the Dark Lord by Death Eaters.

Although Quirrell has never liked such a title, he needs to look respectful, at least on the surface.

At this moment, Quirrell is trying to learn more magical skills from Voldemort to ensure that he will never become a laughing stock again.

He sat in the armchair, looked at the fire in the fireplace, and took a sip of black tea. The flames danced in his eyes, just like his current mood.

Everything is different.

Once upon a time, Quirrell was a very weak student at Hogwarts and was always laughed at and teased by other classmates. He was tired of being like that and vowed to change everything.

Soon after graduation, Quirrell hoped that he could be qualified for the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. He knew that many people were afraid of this profession because of the rumored curse, but Quirrell felt that was nonsense and felt that he could overcome the so-called curse.

He cursed and made everyone look at him with admiration.

However, Dumbledore did not immediately agree to Quirrell's job search, but suggested that he travel around the world to gain more knowledge and then look for him when he comes back.

During the years of traveling around the world, Quirrell gradually became interested in black magic. Of course, it was limited to theoretical aspects, but he soon realized that theoretical black magic was so ridiculous, just as he once imagined that he could

Being a formidable dark wizard is just as ridiculous.

Finally, Quirrell began to imagine that he could track Voldemort and even learn more magical skills from him.

He changed his travel destination and went to the Albanian forest. Legend has it that Voldemort was hiding in this forest, but no one knew whether this was true.

However, to Quirrell's surprise, he really met the legendary Voldemort. The famous Voldemort is currently forced to live in the bodies of some small rodents and is quite weak.

To Quirrell, this was simply ridiculous. He also realized that his fantasy might come true. After Voldemort persuaded him to become a member of the dark forces, Quirrell expressed his hope to learn more magic skills from Voldemort.

, and in exchange, I can help him recover.

As expected, Voldemort agreed to the deal.

This made Quirrell feel complacent, thinking that the legendary Dark Lord was nothing more than that, and that he had the ability to master Voldemort.

As long as he can learn the other party's superb magic skills, he will definitely become an impressive and powerful wizard, and will no longer be as insignificant as many people. He is tired of being ordinary, tired of being despised and laughed at, and he wants to become a wizard that everyone can admire.

The existence that looks up becomes like Dumbledore and Voldemort.

As for Voldemort, the down-and-out Dark Lord, by then he would be nothing more than a bargaining chip that could be discarded at will, and he could even hand it over to Dumbledore.

During the trip, Voldemort did teach him a lot of magical skills, but Quirrell sadly found that he could only master a small part of them, but these were enough to make him a powerful wizard.

During the rest of his travels around the world, Voldemort stayed with him.

The two sides would occasionally chat about something. Although Quirrell dismissed most of Voldemort's words, he had to admit that some of what the other party said was indeed correct.

There is no good or evil in the world. He is called the Dark Lord by the world, and he only uses violence in the process of fighting for power.

Voldemort never thought that he had done anything wrong. People without power are just incompetent, and incompetence is a sin.

This made Quirrell feel the same way.

When Voldemort promised to take control of the Ministry of Magic, he would give Quirrell his due position as a reward for helping him restore his body.

At that moment, Quirrell was tempted. If Voldemort was his backer, everything would be different.

From then on, Quirrell began to accept Voldemort's guidance and carried out his orders. It is undeniable that Quirrell benefited a lot from the dark wizard's style of conduct.

Voldemort also told Quirrell many secret things, including the fact that the legendary alchemist Nico Flamel was still alive, and the existence of the magic stone that could make people immortal.

He told Quirrell that he needed the stone to ensure his immortality, and that Quirrell would receive a large amount of gold as a reward.

With the help of Voldemort, Quirrell spent a lot of time and finally found Nico Flamel's residence in Paris, France. However, the other party seemed to be aware of their prying eyes and hid in the safe house, preventing them from succeeding.

Soon, Dumbledore arrived, and Quirrell never dared to show his face. He only controlled Muggles to monitor Nico's residence, hiding himself behind his back.

However, something that depressed Quirrell happened again. Nico Flamel disappeared without warning with the help of Dumbledore.

Quirrell and Voldemort spent a lot of effort to find clues again. Nico Flamel settled in Devon, and the place where he lived was protected by the Fidelity Curse. They could not find him at all, and the secret keeper was Dumbledore.

.

Quirrell had been spying on Nicolas Flamel's house for a long time, and occasionally saw Dumbledore who came to visit him.

The other party has also discovered his existence, but they are not sure who it is.

When Quirrell and Voldemort were thinking about how to get the Philosopher's Stone, the situation changed again. It was said that the Philosopher's Stone might be hidden in Gringotts.

This is the result he got after he tortured a goblin.

It is not easy to steal the Philosopher's Stone from Gringotts, and Quirrell also needs to confirm whether the news is true, because Dumbledore already knows that someone is eyeing the Philosopher's Stone and may have laid a trap for him.

.

Moreover, Gringotts' defense is very tight, and almost no wizard can steal things from Gringotts and escape unscathed.

Quirrell sadly discovered that he did not have that ability. Voldemort seemed to think so too and was trying to train him into a qualified helper.
