Chapter 482 Baosheng Temple

His trip this time is considered to be over here, and the air ticket back can be reimbursed, but Chen Xing feels that he has already come here, can he just go back like this?

Moreover, it is really cold in Sichuan Province this season, and there is no sun, so if you have the chance to go out and play, you should stay a few more days.

Chen Xing had already visited Suzhou, and it wasn't very attractive to him, but since it was so close to Shanghai, he wanted to visit Shanghai.

The city of Shanghai is very close to him. Every time he transfers in the air, Shanghai is a very popular place.

Is it that he is not familiar with Shang Hai?

But he is familiar with the airport in Shanghai. The McDonald's inside is really his spiritual food in Shanghai and he eats it often.

However, Chen Xing didn't plan to go right away and wanted to take a stroll in Luzhi Ancient Town first.

It has been a long time since I last visited Jiangnan Ancient Town. The feeling of familiarity in everything I saw has basically passed, and now there is another feeling of freshness.

The ancient town is really a treasure of civilization.

Let’s just say that this little-known Zhizhi, if he wanted to write about historical sites, such as Baosheng Temple and Fuli Academy, which lasted for thousands of years, would be enough to write a wonderful novel.

When writing about culture, there is also the ancient charm of the Tang and Song Dynasties here. Countless people shining like stars in history met here unexpectedly. Were they sitting in the courtyard drinking with friends, or talking about poetry and articles?

When talking about a small town, there are also small bridges and running water unique to the south of the Yangtze River, ancient streets, ancient houses, ancient alleys, streets built near the water, and lively shops.

If someone says that most ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River have such scenery, what do you think?

If people come, they will find that there is a bridge in Luzhi.

It's straight. I thought the road was straight, but it's really not straight. The town is densely covered with water networks and crisscrossing streams. Looking down from a high altitude, it looks like a few shining golden jade belts.

So many streams nourish bridges that can be seen everywhere in Luzhi, so it has always been known as the "City of Bridges".

Chen Xing held the camera and didn't know which street he was going to. He just knew he would cross the bridge when he saw it, so he walked around until he lost his way.

Chen Xing found a bench and sat down first, while Chen Xing checked what he had captured on his camera.

This ancient town is really not big, but there are many and dense bridges. Chen Xing only saw thirty or forty of them, and they were all ancient bridges.

Stone arch bridge, stone slab bridge, and adjacent sister bridges on the left and right.

There are also many shops along the river. Most of the things sold in these shops have been seen by Chen Xing in other ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. In other words, they are similar in ancient towns across the country.

But there is one product that sells better here in the south of the Yangtze River than in the ancient towns in the north, and that is oil-paper umbrellas.

If it rains in the town, Chen Xing himself doesn't mind buying one.

But now that the sun is shining brightly, it would be a bit strange to hold an umbrella.

This shopping street is very long. A row of red lanterns hangs high on the corridor extending far into the distance. There are many places for tourists to rest below.

Chen Xing is sitting here.

After finishing sorting, he had time to look around.

After lunch, he said goodbye to the people from the Photography Association and continued shopping until it was almost four o'clock. After seeing the photos he had taken, he didn't want to continue walking. When he saw a teahouse nearby, he went over and ordered a cup of tea.

Luzhi is relatively famous among the ancient towns in Jiangsu, but it is not as famous as Zhouzhuang and Tongli. In addition to people-watching, tourists can also see a little bit of the local cultural environment here.

People living here cannot rely entirely on tourists to earn money for food like people in Wuzhen, and their ancestral craftsmanship has not been left behind.

Chen Xing was sitting at a table near the water in the teahouse. To his right was the river embankment without guardrails. If he turned slightly, he could see the aunt washing clothes by the river and the uncle fishing with a net on a wooden boat.

Young people will definitely not be able to do these things. Like Chen Xing's generation, if they can use a washing machine, they will never wash it by hand. Even if the washing machine cannot be used, dirty clothes can be left for ten days and a half.

Listening to the gurgling sound of the boatman shaking the oar and drinking hot tea, Chen Xing's mood completely calmed down, and the fatigue from the day disappeared.

It was getting dark, and people were coming and going in this teahouse. Some people sat down and some left, but Chen Xing sat here until the evening, and he changed several types of tea.

You have to feel comfortable drinking tea in a place like this.

As night falls, all the lights are turned on, and the barbecue restaurant in front is extremely noisy, making the night of this ancient town lively.

He did not go back to the Garden Hotel, but found a bed and breakfast in the ancient town.

But it seems that I chose the wrong location. This B&B seems to be holding some kind of event. A group of people are singing songs in the living room and it feels very happy.

Chen Xing was eager to give it a try. Since he drank too much tea, he didn’t want to sleep now, so he simply went down to sing with this group of strangers. He was so happy that he didn’t come back to rest until midnight.

The next day, when Chen Xing went downstairs and saw them in the living room, he could remember the names of several of them.

They saw Chen Xing carrying his luggage and asked, "Handsome guy, are you leaving now?"

"Well, I'll take the bus to Shanghai today at noon. I'll take a look at Baosheng Temple while I still have some time."

Baosheng Temple is a thousand-year-old temple in Luzhi. It is said that there are two treasures hidden in the temple, one is a bluestone sutra pillar and the other is an iron bell.

Chen Xing often sees prayer flags, but he still doesn’t know what prayer flags are. Anyway, I’ve come here, so I’ll go take a look.

I would have thought how could such a huge temple that was more than a thousand years old remain unknown. If he hadn't come here this time, Luzhi would not have known there was such a huge Buddhist temple here.

But when I came to see the history of the temple, I realized that this place had once been glorious. At its peak, Baosheng Temple had more than 5,000 temples, thousands of monks, and covered almost half the town.

It was also one of the "Four Major Temples in Jiangnan".

It's just that it has indeed declined in modern times, and its publicity and other temples have not kept up.

However, this kind of building complex that has lasted for thousands of years has been exposed to wind and rain, and has undergone changes in times and years, giving this temple hidden in the ancient town a charm of vicissitudes of life, which is more and more soul-settling.

There were not many tourists out for shopping early in the morning, and there were even fewer tourists in the temple. Only a few people in red vests were seen sweeping the floor.

This also made it easier for Chen Xing to take photos, and he was very satisfied with the light this morning, and it was easy to take photos with a good atmosphere.

As he was patting it, he saw the big iron bell located on the east side of the courtyard of the Antiquities Museum. This bell is now a cultural relic. Naturally, it will not be hung up and banged. Instead, it will be placed on the ground and surrounded by a wooden fence.

It is indeed very old and rusty. The top of the bell is decorated with a dragon, and the writing on the bell is only vaguely visible. It seems to be "good weather and good harvest".

It is said that the bells in temples can reach the sky directly, so many temples like to engrave sutras on the bells. Every time they are struck, it means reciting sutras to the Buddha.

Engraving auspicious words such as good weather and good harvests on the clock is also a high-end blessing.
