567 Rest in Peace

Xiao Tongran regretted suggesting coming here. He knew how strong this woman was. He could only continue climbing.

After half an hour again, we were already halfway up the mountain.

Chen Miao simply stopped. It was too uncomfortable, mainly because it was too hot and muggy.

"It's not going to rain! Why is it so hot?"

"How can it rain on such a sunny day?"

Chen Miao twitched the corner of her mouth. "In summer, doesn't it rain when it rains?"

We were already halfway up the mountain and still didn't want to go down, so we rested for ten minutes and then continued.

"You really don't need to be so brave, can I just come?"

"The two of them only weigh about thirty pounds, so they're not too heavy. It's just that the weather makes me uncomfortable."

Xiao Tongran regretted it again, and sweat fell down her hair.

After another forty minutes, Chen Miaobai finally breathed a sigh of relief when he arrived at the entrance of the temple.

It is not the kind of incense-filled temple with a grand entrance that we will see in later generations.

He looked at the small door and the small household, but he didn't dare to say anything without covering up or blocking him, which was disrespectful to the Buddha.

Although I don’t really believe it, I’m already mystical enough, so it’s better to be cautious.

Xiao Tongran knocked on the door for a while before a young monk came to open the door.

"Donor, our temple is not accepting guests today."

"Little Master, I am here from out of town and would like to meet the host. Please let me know."

The little faces of the two children were also red from the sun. The little monk glanced at the two children, closed the door and left.

After ten minutes, the young monk opened the door and invited them in.

There are really quite a few houses inside. Are there many monks here?

The two children had already been untied, and their backs were pressed against her. They were already wet, so she still held them to make them more comfortable.

Chen Miao had a ridiculous feeling. She felt much cooler after entering the temple. This was very unscientific. Maybe she felt like this because she had rested for nearly twenty minutes.

The young monk led the way. His clothes were covered with puddings and patches, but they were quite clean.

It’s really distressing for such a young child to become a monk here.

Chen Miao sighed, maybe he was an orphan. Coming here was his way to survive.

Looking at the temple hall, the Bodhisattvas inside look quite majestic.

Following Xiao Tongran, he went in to burn incense and said, "Chen Miao, please let the two children kneel down too."

I don’t have any opinion on this, it’s not a big deal.

He kowtowed very piously and offered incense. The two children were confused, but the kowtow was still quite decent.

After the incense was finished, I went to see the host.

Seeing the host Chen Miao who was about to leave, Chen Miao was a little frightened.

Xiao Tongran and the two of them probably knew each other, and they talked more casually.

"Just put two children on the poudun."

Chen Miao was stunned for a moment, then let the two of them sit on it and play.

How could they possibly live in such a spacious and fresh place that seemed new to them?

Yun Yu grabbed the wooden fish stick in the old monk's hand, and Chen Miao quickly grabbed it and tried to snatch it away.

"No, it doesn't matter."

"I'm sorry, Master, the children are still young."

The two continued chatting, and Yun Yu, the child, was holding a wooden fish stick and laughing.

Yun Chang saw his brother holding something in his hand and immediately went to get the wooden fish too.

Chen Miao looked very helpless, forget it, since the master said it doesn't matter, just pretend it doesn't matter.

Half of his mind was focused on their conversation, but he didn't expect Xiao Tongran to have such an awareness. After taking a look at his appearance, what would he look like if he were a monk! In fact, it's quite funny, right?

I quickly put away the smile on my face. This was disrespectful to others.

The two children couldn't stay inside any longer. Chen Miao said something, grabbed the wooden fish and wooden fish sticks from their hands and carried them out.

That is, when I was wandering around the temple, no one told me where I couldn’t go, so I just looked around.

This temple is not big, and I quickly reached the back. What I was wondering about were two monks, an old one and a young one? No other people were found.

I saw a room at the very back, and I could smell the incense from outside.

Is there a Bodhisattva enshrined here? Chen Miao curiously carried her two children in. There was no Bodhisattva inside, and there were many rankings.

Chen Miao felt that she shouldn't have come in and wanted to exit, but suddenly she saw a name written on a normal ranking.

She was stunned. This name was very famous. She had heard that it was a great hero who killed little devils.

Chen Miao turned around and looked at these rankings, her eyes turned red unconsciously. The heroes here were enshrined for killing little devils.

Putting the two children down and letting them kneel on the futon, she devoutly offered incense and knelt down to kowtow, "Heroes, the little devil has surrendered. We have won. Please rest in peace for your heroic souls."

The two little ones watched their mother kowtow and followed suit. Chen Miao turned to watch Yun Yu roll off the futon and hurriedly hugged them up.

There's nowhere to go anyway. I might as well just sit here.

"Don't worry, heroes, the nation you risk your life to protect will definitely be better off, and we will definitely become stronger."

Chen Miao rambled on about several victorious battles she knew about and the current civil war.

"It is our people who are suffering, but if we don't win now, it will be us ordinary people who will suffer in the future.

It means to overthrow oppression, and it means that ordinary people can be the masters of their own country. Only then can there be hope for such a day. I think this is what you want to see, right?

We all strive to live the life we want."

Chen Miao felt that she had too many things to say. To be honest, she only knew the name of the great hero and didn't know anything else, but she just felt that they were those heroes.

Xiao Tongran and the old monk listened outside until the two children struggled and refused to stay with her before they got up. They hugged the two children and bowed deeply before coming out.

Seeing the two people outside, they also bowed deeply to the old monk.

"The donor is too kind."

Chen Miao didn't say anything. They came to invite the three of them to eat.

There shouldn't be much food on the mountain. The steamed buns are made with several kinds of noodles, and the taste is really average.

After eating a steamed bun, I stopped and thought I should bring some food.

A room was arranged for the three of them at noon. Although there was only a Kang mat and nothing else, it was pretty good.

Xiao Tongran is really devout to the temple, and he stayed with the old monk all afternoon.

At four o'clock in the afternoon, I called the three of them to prepare to go down the mountain.

Chen Miao took out 20 yuan and put it on the table. "Master, I came here in a hurry. I only have this thing. I would like to ask the master to offer more incense to the heroes in the future."

"Amitabha, the donor is kind-hearted, don't worry, he will definitely do it."

It was cooler going down the mountain, and she always felt that going down the mountain was faster than going up the mountain.
