Chapter 5 Basic Survival

Chu Jungui got into the rescue cabin again, opened the seat, and pulled out a square box from underneath. The lid of the box was printed with the logo of Deep Space Energy and the sign of life-saving.

This is a star field survival kit produced by Deep Space Energy. It is reliable, stable and cheap. It is a must-have life-saving product on most interstellar spacecraft.

The suit box is made of composite materials, and it looks cheap and rough at first glance. Chu Jungui opened the suit box and took out everything inside to look at it. There were three packs of compressed food, two bottles of water, and two tablets in the suit box.

Polymer batteries, a scanner, and a multifunctional universal substance printer.

Chu Jungui picked up the universal substance printer and gently pressed the start switch, and it automatically ejected the base and four printing arms.

The core of the entire survival kit is this universal material printer, which can print out various devices from standardized materials based on pre-stored blueprints. The energy required for this simple and portable version of the printer is just a polymer battery. It is really hard to find.

Batteries can also be replaced by other energy sources.

It can be said that having a material printer is equivalent to having a miniature portable factory.

But Chu Jungui looked at the list of blueprints on the printer screen and shook his head helplessly. Although there were a lot of blueprints listed above, unfortunately they were all the most basic equipment, and most of them were seriously outdated models. For example

He said that the main self-defense weapon was just a pistol, which was powered by gunpowder. When he was at the base, let alone seeing it, he had never even heard of such an ancient thing.

However, this portable printer must consider both versatility and cost, and even cost is the first consideration. Therefore, the materials it can process are quite limited, and naturally it cannot print any advanced equipment.

Chu Jungui browsed the list and decided on several pieces of equipment to make. First, he must have a self-defense weapon, and secondly, necessary survival tools. A multi-functional combat dagger can meet most of the needs.

Next, we still need a pistol and an arm shield. The 0.1a version of Melee Firearms Combat Technique is still memorized in the storage area, and it passed the test and has muscle memory. Suddenly, even the base was destroyed, those

Naturally, the researcher didn't bother cleaning his memory.

According to the common knowledge of interstellar survival in his memory, Chu Jungui felt that as long as he had a gun and a shield in his hand, and a serrated dagger, he could basically walk sideways on an ordinary primitive ecological planet. It didn't mean that he was particularly large in size, or in number.

There are so many social creatures, including ordinary beasts.

He looked inside the rescue capsule, rummaged through it, and found a small box containing several round rods. Most of them were basic metals such as iron and copper, plus two carbon rods.

These round rods are the raw materials specially used for general-purpose material printers.

We have the basic materials, but we still can’t make a gun. We need to make gunpowder first, then we can make ammunition, and finally we can make a pistol. A gun without bullets is worse than a fire stick. It’s just that the P1911 in the storage blueprint looks simple.

It is square and square, full of retro feel, and I don’t know which ancient weapon it is a tribute to.

It seems that we need to collect some materials and explore the surrounding environment at the same time. The rescue capsule has been completely destroyed, and we don’t know how long we will stay on this damn planet.

If there really is no intelligent life on this planet, and it is not on the list of discovered planets, then Chu Jungui will have to be prepared to build an interstellar spacecraft from scratch with his own hands.

Fortunately, he was formerly an experimental subject and had not yet formed a clear concept of time and life, so he did not seriously think about how long it would take to complete this task.

Chu Jungui moved out all the usable things in the rescue cabin, used the back of the seat to build a simple workbench, placed the printer on it, inserted a polymer battery, and selected Multi-Function Fighting on the manufacturing blueprint

dagger.

The four printing arms of the printer are in place, and the top cover slides open to reveal the feed port.

Seeing the four feed inlets side by side, Chu Jungui couldn't help but cursed in his heart. With just a few feed inlets, how much material can be processed at one time? The equipment that can print this material is naturally small.

Equipment, even larger and smaller equipment cannot be processed. This deep space energy source is really cost-effective.

A combat dagger requires less than four materials. Chu Jungui took an iron rod, added a carbon rod, inserted it into the feed port, and started printing.

The four printing arms each emitted beams of light, and materials were piled up layer by layer. It didn't take long before a combat dagger was formed.

Chu Jungui picked up the dagger, pulled the blade, tested the strength, and then could only shake his head. If the dagger is made of ordinary metal or by printing, the quality will naturally not be much better.

"It's better than my nails and teeth." He comforted himself.

With the dagger, he had the most basic tool. Chu Jungui used three metal rods and the remaining carbon rods to make an arm shield. This arm shield only has basic defensive functions, but the edges are sharp and a wooden handle is inserted.

, it can be used as an ax or shovel.

After making these two pieces of equipment, there were not many materials left. He picked up the scanner and looked at it. It was a device somewhat similar to a single-chip combat goggle. It had a half-frame lens that actually had the function of a display screen.

The emission hole can emit a scanning beam and can distinguish most common substances.

Chu Jungui put on the scanner, tried it briefly, and then threw it aside. This scanner can be placed in a suit, and its performance is needless to say. It can indeed scan most common substances, but the problem is common

Matter can be seen by ordinary people with their eyes. Chu Jungui's vision also has a built-in scanning function, which is much better than this scanner.

But after thinking about it, he picked up the scanner and took it with him.

He didn't want to be discovered that he was any different from ordinary people, so it was better to bring a scanner. Although he couldn't use it for scanning, at least it could block the wind when the weather was bad.

After cleaning up, Chu Jungui first searched around the rescue cabin and collected some scattered metal fragments. When he built the refining machine, he could refining these metal fragments into raw materials. The materials used to build the rescue capsule were all high-quality.

A large-scale interstellar grade alloy. The materials used in this alloy are not available on every planet. Even if they are, some of the ingredients in it are very troublesome to refine.

The rescue cabin plowed a deep trench of more than 100 meters on the ground. Chu Jungui simply walked along the trench and slowly explored the forest not far away.

As he walked, Chu Jungui scanned the rocks and plants he saw along the way.

At the outer edge of the forest, what grows on the ground are low vegetation and weeds. The main component is carbon, and it also contains quite high sulfur. These two elements are widely used and are the basis of many materials.

At least the ecology and essence of this planet are very similar to the human home planet, which also means that many technologies can be universal.

Among the stones on the ground, there were a few dark silver-yellow stones that caught Chu Jungui's attention. He leaned over to pick them up and put them in front of his eyes for a closer look.

In the field of vision, a scanning line swept from top to bottom across the stone in his hand. The composition of the stone was quickly analyzed. It contained a large amount of iron and sulfur, a small amount of nickel, and a very small amount of elements of unknown composition.

This is a piece of pyrrhotite, and it is on the surface. Perhaps because of the extremely high sulfur content and low oxygen in the air, it has not been weathered.

With pyrrhotite, there is a source of basic metals and basic chemical raw materials.

Chu Jungui found a few pieces of pyrrhotite ore nearby, put them all into his backpack, and then marked the location on the map in his mind. Since there are ores on the ground, there are probably mineral deposits underground. If you are lucky, you might be able to find them.

Copper can be found.

After walking a little further, we reached the edge of the forest.

Chu Jungui pulled out his dagger and walked towards a big tree.

The trees here are tall and straight, often tens of meters high. The tree body is very smooth, and only the top has huge leaves spread out, and the side of the leaves facing the sky is dark red.

When he walked to the big tree, a small thing suddenly jumped out from behind the tree and flew towards Chu Jungui!

In an instant, the 11.07x version of the basic fighting skills in Chu Jungui's memory was loaded. He leaned back and struck with the dagger, directly piercing the incoming object in the air.

The entire movement is smooth and flowing. No matter the speed, angle or timing, it is all flawless. It has brought the basic fighting skills to the extreme.

The dagger worn by Chu Jungui is a small beast with dark red and dark green fur. It can almost blend into the environment when sneaking in the forest. Its vitality is very tenacious. Its body has been pierced, and it is still struggling desperately, constantly attacking Chu Jun.

Return threatening roar.

Chu Jungui reached out and pinched its neck bone and twisted it. The small thing felt very light, and he didn't know if the meat was poisonous. If it was not poisonous, there would be no need to worry about the source of the food.

Putting the little beast into his backpack, Chu Jun returned to a big tree and gently knocked on the trunk. A hollow sound came from inside.

Chu Jungui continued to knock, and based on the echo, the internal shape of the tree trunk gradually took shape in his mind.

The trunk is hollow, with an outer wall about a palm thick and some thick veins like blood vessels inside.

He pulled out the dagger, inserted it hard into the tree trunk, then held the handle with both hands, sawing continuously with the saw teeth on the back of the knife, and finally made a small opening in the tree trunk.

The trunk is made of hard fiber and is quite hard in texture. It should be a good building material, but it is a pity that it is a bit thin.

Chu Jungui cut another internal vein and used the tip of the knife to pick out some sap. When the dagger came close to the tip of his nose, he smelled a pungent smell. He frowned. It seemed that the sap contained a lot of

It is highly acidic and not suitable for drinking directly. It seems that the source of the water still needs to be figured out.

He carefully explored the edge of the forest and discovered more than a dozen different shrubs and several types of fruits. Unfortunately, most of these fruits only had basic nutritional value and were so small that they were not worth eating.

After searching for a while, Chu Jungui suddenly felt a burning sensation in his chest and coughed.

The discomfort comes from his lungs. It seems that he has breathed in too much toxic gases on this planet. Even if he is an experimental subject, the accumulated toxic substances are still somewhat unbearable.

He slowed down his breathing, quickened his pace, and returned to the rescue cabin.

There is some basic oxygen reserve in the rescue cabin. Although it is not much, due to Chu Jungui's experimental subject's physique, this oxygen can only be used by ordinary people for a few hours, but it can sustain him for several days.
