Chapter 10 Flowing Daily Life

Dunn was not as surprised as Klein imagined. He just looked at him quietly, his eyes dull. After waiting for a long time, he took a breath, leaned back on the chair, and slowly exhaled:

"At that time, Dai Li also found me in this way and said that she wanted to submit an application..."

"Oh, to be honest, I'm not too surprised this time. You have given me too many foreshadowings and hints in advance."

Dunn looked at Klein calmly, but the expression on his face showed some unconcealable vicissitudes. His vision was blurred, as if he was searching for traces of the past.

"I won't stop you, but out of the responsibility of captain, I still have to make sure."

"Klein, are you sure you want to submit a special application?" Dunn's eyes returned to focus and he asked solemnly.

Seeing the captain's reaction in front of him, Klein deliberately put away his heartfelt joy, but his tone was still somewhat uncontrollable and rose slightly:

"I'm sure, Captain, I've already felt the potion being completely digested, and I can confirm that I have met the conditions for promotion."

Dunn, who was silent and watching Klein quietly, suddenly asked in a low voice:

"Is this what you call 'digestion'?"

Seeing the captain asking the question, Klein immediately replied:

"Yes, when the potion was completely digested, I felt like something was broken in my brain. From then on, I was sure that I had completely mastered the potion."

"It feels like something is broken..." Dunn chewed on this sentence in a low voice and slowly frowned.

Seeing that the captain was deep in thought, Klein did not disturb him. Instead, he stood quietly and allowed the captain to think.

Perhaps the captain is not just thinking about the feeling of "digestion". It is very likely that he was promoted in the first few promotions without complete digestion. Without the guidance of "acting method", he only relied on self-adaptation, which also limited the ability of everyone to digest.

Difficulties faced by some extraordinary people.

The captain is probably thinking more about the opportunities he missed now...

After nearly a minute, Dunn left the back of the chair, straightened his body, and his deep gray eyes once again reflected Klein's figure. He spoke slowly:

"If it were before, I might have persuaded you to wait for another year. After all, you have a special background and have such a 'digestion' speed. It would be too outstanding to submit a special application directly."

"But now..." Dunn let out a long breath. He had also used the word "digestion" unconsciously just now, "I think being noticed by the church may not be a bad thing. I will do it for you."

Write a statement to prove that you are in good condition, and maybe, maybe you can get further hope like Dai Li."

Suddenly, he was no longer as serious as usual, and the corners of his mouth curled up:

"Young people, you should seize the opportunity. You can write a special application."

"Okay." Klein also responded with a slightly playful smile.

He took two steps back softly, turned around and prepared to go out. As expected, when he just touched the doorknob, he heard a familiar complement.

"Wait a minute." Dunn called out to the young man who was about to go out. Looking at the joy on his face, he considered and said:

"You are not the only young person here."

"Also, pay attention to your wording when writing."

Does the captain want me to share the "acting method"? Klein was a little stunned for a moment, but then smiled and nodded. He originally planned to reveal something in private.

............

Klein was sitting in the clerk's office in front of an Axon 1346 typewriter, thinking about his words while tapping the typewriter.

Suddenly, he noticed that there was a shadow in front of him, blocking the sunlight. He quickly looked up and found Leonard Mitchell with messy long hair and the top two buttons of his shirt casually open.

He was leaning against the door frame of the office, with his hands in his pockets, and his messy long hair hanging down, blocking his green left eye, giving him an unruly aesthetic.

Klein ignored the other party's gaze and quickly lowered his head, preparing to complete the end of the special application.

After typing the last character and punctuation, he stood up and asked while sorting the documents:

"What are you doing here?"

Leonard smiled, his green eyes examining Klein with interest:

"I just saw you writing something when I was passing by. You are not responsible for handing in the report today. I want to know what you are doing?"

Being gay, Klein quickly glanced through the application he had written. After confirming that it was correct, he explained casually:

"Write a special application for promotion to sequence eight."

Leonard's originally lazy and uninhibited posture suddenly couldn't be maintained, and he coughed violently. He couldn't help but hold the door frame with his right hand. It took a long time to return to normal, and he hurriedly asked:

"Have you finished digesting the 'Soothsayer' potion?"

Digest? Poet classmate, you revealed your secret in a hurry...Klein picked up the special application, missed Leonard, and walked out of the office. Then he stopped outside the door, turned to look at Leonard, and raised his eyebrows.

He picked it up and said jokingly:

"right."

"Moreover, I remember someone once said to me that there are always some special people in this world who can accomplish things that others cannot."

"For example, me."

"For example, you."

Leonard was stunned to the spot, his words were suddenly blocked in his mouth, his face turned red from holding back, he awkwardly adjusted his standing posture, and folded his hands in front of his chest.

He opened his mouth, swallowed the invisible obstruction in his throat, finally organized his words, and asked in a deep voice:

"Don't you think this is too risky?"

Since he understands the meaning of "digestion", he should understand that there is no risk factor in my promotion. Is he wary of the church's senior leaders?

Klein thought for a while and replied with a question:

"Don't you think we've had too many coincidences lately?"

Coincidence? Leonard recalled his recent encounters, nodded thoughtfully, and murmured to himself:

"Maybe I should try it too..."

Seeing that he was deep in thought, Klein turned around and prepared to submit a report to the captain.

He had just taken two steps when he felt his right hand sink suddenly. He turned around and found Leonard with a bright smile on his face, holding his hand and saying with a smile:

"As a 'special' person, you should help other people, right?"

"Aren't all the protagonists in the novels about Emperor Russell like this?"

"Aren't you going to share your experience with us? You know, sharing and reminding us now may save us one less out-of-control teammate in the future!"

This praise is so high that I can’t stop it...and I originally planned to share it, but I just didn’t want Tingen to have multiple “special applicants” appear in a row.

Klein shook his head helplessly and smiled: "I'm happy to share."

"Then now!" Leonard's eyes suddenly lit up, and he couldn't wait to pull Klein towards the Nighthawks Entertainment Room.

He pushed open the half-opened door forcefully, let go of Klein's arms, opened his arms, and recited like a real poet:

"Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you, the gentleman next to me, Mr. Klein Moretti, who completely mastered the potion in just one and a half months, is about to hit Sequence 8!"

I'm almost dying of embarrassment... This sense of blunt exaggeration... Klein suddenly wanted to escape from here and hide in a crack in the ground.

"Leonard, there is no need for you to pull Klein into such a stiff performance. He almost lost his head." Miss Siga T'ang, a senior writer on the best-selling book, smiled helplessly, not paying attention to what the other party just said.

Cornley glanced at the cards on the table and slowly closed his hand, "Leonard, stop joking."

Frye took the cards, glanced at Klein carefully, and said in silence for a few seconds:

"Are you sure you have mastered the potion?"

"Yes, I have finished digesting it." Klein felt the other party's concern and nodded affirmatively, "I feel the obvious signs."

Boom!

Cohen suddenly stood up, took down the stool beside him, and asked loudly:

"What? Really!"

Leonard shook the paper in Klein's hand with his fingers and said mysteriously:

"Hey, this is the special application he just wrote, a special application for promotion to Sequence Eight!"

Siga Teon, who was usually the most calm and elegant, could not control his emotions at this time. He took a deep breath and relieved the dryness of his throat, then asked the question he was most concerned about:

"This, uh, how did this happen?"

Klein looked around for a week, looking at the familiar lounge and his teammates with eyes full of expectation, pulled up a chair, and sat down slowly.

............

Klein knocked on the door of Dunn's office again, walked directly in, signed his name at the end of the application document, and pressed his fingerprint.

He glanced at the "Special Application" one last time, held it in both hands, and handed it to Dunn.

Dunn took a closer look, put down the application in his hand and said:

"I will attach additional instructions. You must also be prepared to accept the review of the Holy Church. This may not be too slow, maybe next week."

"Okay." Klein nodded solemnly, slowly exited the captain's office, and left the door ajar.

He walked quickly on the spiral staircase, feeling a sense of panic in his heart for some reason.

He recalled the gossip Roxanne told him when he first walked this staircase, and recalled his joy when he became an extraordinary person... Klein shook his head violently, throwing these distracting thoughts out of his mind.

"I'm just going to be promoted, why do I feel like I'm saying goodbye to my previous life?"

He whispered to himself as he knocked on the guard's open door.

He stood at the door and watched Luoyao Laiting, who had already packed his personal belongings, get up and walk towards the door. Klein nodded in greeting, and then suddenly said:

"I just discussed some experiences with Fry and the others about the digestion of potions. You can go and talk to them."

Luo Yao, who had slender eyebrows and dark hair as smooth as silk, moved his lips a few times before speaking in a low voice:

"good."

Klein looked at the other party's surprised look and smiled. He was very much looking forward to the other party's reaction.

Unfortunately, I couldn't see it with my own eyes... Klein skillfully picked up Dunn's silver-inlaid tin can and brewed himself a cup of fragrant Fillmore coffee.

He looked at the unprocessed, strange patterns on the coffee, felt the temperature accompanying the overflowing water mist, and thought about the taste he was about to taste.

boom!

Klein was startled by the sound. He almost spilled the coffee on himself and couldn't help but look up.

He saw Old Neil, who was wearing a black robe and holding a felt hat of the same color, standing at the door, breathing heavily and staring straight at him.
