Chapter 1 The Final Farewell

Ye Wanwan was half leaning on the bedside. The servant was carrying a tray and was about to leave. Ye Wanwan suddenly asked: "Where is Zhouzhou? Isn't he back yet?"

The servant turned around and replied very respectfully: "Madam, it's going to rain heavily outside soon. The old lady called to say that the road is not safe. The young master will stay in the old house tonight and will not come back."

Hearing this, Ye Wanwan's expression dimmed a bit. She didn't say anything more, but just nodded lightly.

Then the servant left the bedroom, leaving her sitting quietly on the bedside.

She sat there blankly for a while, then took her cell phone from the bedside table. She looked at the time and saw that it was already ten o'clock.

But at this time, his son Shen Wenzhou probably hadn't rested yet. Ye Wanwan hesitated for a few seconds before dialing the phone.

The sound of "beep~beep~beep" came from the phone. It was obviously only a short interval, but Ye Wanwan felt it was very long.

Finally, someone answered the call just as it was about to hang up.

"mom."

Fifteen-year-old Shen Wenzhou's voice was still childish, but his alienation from Ye Wanwan was also obvious in his words.

Ye Wanwan felt a pain in her heart and said in a difficult voice: "Zhou Zhou."

Shen Wenzhou heard the sadness in her tone, but he did not speak, but quietly waited for his mother's next words.

However, after waiting for a while, he didn't hear the person on the other end of the phone speak. If he hadn't heard the slightly heavy breathing, he would have thought the phone had been hung up.

In the end, it was Shen Wenzhou who was defeated first. He felt helpless and lowered his voice and said, "The weather outside is not good. It may rain heavily at any time. Grandma is worried about me going back. I will stay here tonight. You are not in good health." , go to bed early."

Ye Wanwan actually had a lot of things she wanted to say to her son, but those words were like a ball of yarn that had been messed up, leaving her unable to find the end and no way to start.

In the end, it just turned into one sentence, "Okay, then Zhouzhou should take care of himself."

Shen Wenzhou frowned. He felt that his mother's phone call today was a bit strange, but for a moment he couldn't figure out what was wrong. He was about to say something, but there was already a hang-up tone on his phone.

Looking at the phone that had ended the call, Shen Wenzhou was silent for a few seconds, then without thinking about anything else, he put down the phone and lay down to rest. He had to go to school tomorrow.

After Ye Wanwan hung up the phone, she called another man.

That man's name is Shen Yi, he is her husband, the man she cannot love, and the source of her miserable life.

When she called, the call was answered not long after, and she subconsciously called out: "Shen Yi."

The man on the other end of the phone responded solemnly, and then asked: "Why haven't you rested yet? Are you unable to sleep? Have you taken your medicine tonight?"

"I've taken the medicine, and I just wanted to call you." Ye Wanwan explained.

Someone once said that people can have premonitions before they die, and she seemed to have had a premonition, so she called her son and wanted to call him as a last farewell.

But after the call was connected, I realized that I didn't know what to say at all. It seemed that they had been wasted all these years and had nothing to say.

After the same silence for a long time, Shen Yi said: "Go to rest early. I will be finished here soon. When I get back..."
