"You remember the "Dream Collection" I bought from the bookstall when I graduated from junior high school, right?"
Grandpa suddenly asked such a question that I didn't expect.
I was impressed by this collection, not because the poems in it were famous, but because the author was a monk. At that time, my grandfather said that this monk named Jueyin was upright in his poetry, so he let me take a look.
"Dream View Collection" has 250 poems in its entirety, most of which are works written by friends during gatherings and exchanges of gifts and responses. The book bought by my grandfather at the bookstore does not have that many poems, only a thin volume of more than ten poems.
.
The book records that Jue Yin had a wide range of friends, including Taoist priests, literati, court officials, hermits, squires and minor officials, businessmen, citizens (physicians, Yin and Yang families), fishermen, old farmers, etc.
Jueyin, whose first name was Wencheng, changed his name to Bencheng, with the courtesy name Daoyuan, and his first name was Daoxuan, and later his name was Daoyuan, with the courtesy name Jueyin. He named himself Fuchenshanren, Datong Shanweng, Ningshizi, and Shuwei Gong.
Some scholars say he was from Jiaxing, while others say he was from Sichuan. He lived in Xingsheng Zen Temple and was succeeded by Zen Master Fuxuguling. He also presided over Rongjue Temple. He lived in the place of impermanence and was still alive in the early Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty.
Jueyin was not only good at writing poems, but also good at calligraphy and painting. He was a master of landscapes, and his feathers, bamboos, and stones all had a free and easy charm. He was a person who had gained the Tao and was able to play with the essence in his pen and ink.
Often after finishing painting and calligraphy, I will put the phrase "write orchid with joy and bamboo with anger" on the painting and calligraphy.
The book "Dream View Collection" bought by my grandpa has an illustration in it, which is written by Jue Yin. Grandpa couldn't help but sigh that Jue Yin's calligraphy is really wonderful, but all I saw was dragons and phoenixes dancing. Grandpa also said that I don't know how to appreciate it.
, the words that deserve to be written are like dogs crawling.
"I remember that the poems written by the great monk were all in a realistic style. Grandpa, you suddenly asked me if there is any problem with this book?"
Grandpa stared at me, his brows raised and then knitted together, as if he was considering whether to tell me what was going to happen next.
"Grandpa, you've told me everything you need to tell me. Is there anything else you can't say?"
Grandpa let out a long sigh, looked out the window again, and told me that he found a page of letters among the books left to him by his master.
The content of the letter is an ordinary exchange between friends, but the signature is Jueyin. The content of the letter mentions the year, which is the second year of Zhizheng.
"What? Grandpa means the letter Jueyin wrote to the master? How is this possible? Seven hundred years ago? You mean the master lived for more than 700 years? How is this possible?"
Grandpa shook his head and said that he didn't want to believe it, but later he took the letter to Mr. Xu. Through his connections, Mr. Xu found a professional to authenticate it. It was indeed authentic, and the letter paper was from the Yuan Dynasty. Mr. Xu was also confused.
, let grandpa keep this matter in his heart and not mention it to anyone.
I couldn't suppress the excitement in my heart, and I paced back and forth in the room, imagining that if my master was really over 700 years old, then gods really existed in this world, and many legends might be true.
Thinking about it later, I thought it was impossible. If this were true, it would overturn all the knowledge I received in school.
"Grandpa, this is definitely impossible. Do you believe there are people in the world who have lived for more than 700 years?"
"Tch! Have you ever believed in ghosts in the world?"
Grandpa's casual words made me freeze in place. At this moment, my heart rate was close to the limit. Due to the extremely fast heartbeat, I felt difficulty breathing.
Immediately following my grandfather's words, I collapsed directly on the ground.
"I later suspected that your master was born before the Qin Dynasty."
Grandpa told me that after Mr. Xu appraised the letter, he couldn't sleep for several days, thinking about everything he had with his master.
I remember the first year I left with my master when I was a child. That year I was in Xi'an, Shaanxi, next door to Shanxi.
Grandpa is not used to living in a strange place. There are some differences in the language and he cannot talk to the children at school. He is depressed all day long.
When he was on leave from school, Master took his grandfather out to play, saying they wanted to see the mountains. Grandpa was born in the mountains, so he didn’t care about mountains. Master said that this mountain was not ordinary. The emperor lived in it, and the emperor couldn’t get out, so he spent the whole day
Walk around inside.
The young grandfather, under his master's coaxing, followed his master on horseback for a whole day and came to an old mountain. In addition to the trees, this mountain was much thicker than in Shanxi, and there were many more huge rocks.
Nothing special either.
During this period, they were on a flat land halfway up the mountain. After observing the surroundings, Master asked Grandpa to wait for him where he was for a while while he went to find something.
The master left for almost an hour and came back with a bundle of medicinal materials in his hand. Grandpa was alone and waited on the mountainside for an hour. He was frightened by the sound of birds in the forest and saw the master appear.
When I did it, I burst into tears.
On the way back, Master told his grandfather stories about this mountain in order to appease his grandfather.
The story goes that a long time ago, there was a very smart emperor who governed the country very well and unified several small countries around him into a large country.
Later, the emperor began to become bored and depressed all day long. He could get everything he wanted in the world. Until one day, he thought of something he couldn't do, which was immortality.
So the emperor used all the efforts of the whole country to study immortality. He sent people to various places to find the method of immortality.
An alchemist refined the elixir of immortality based on the prescription he found. The emperor gave it to the servants in the palace to try the elixir, but it had no effect.
Later, someone came to advise, saying that there was a place in the East China Sea where gods lived, and the gods had the elixir of immortality.
The emperor ordered a large ship to be built. This ship was the largest ship in the world at that time and could sail in the sea without bumps.
The emperor took a group of guards and went to the East China Sea to look for the gods. Sure enough, the emperor paid off his hard work. A few months later, the emperor arrived at the hometown of his master. The hometown of his master was full of gods. The emperor asked the gods to give him a stone.
elixir, he wants to live forever.
The god said to him: "Since you have found this place, it means you are destined to be with the gods, but mortals need to pay a price for immortality."
The emperor asked the immortal what price he had to pay. The immortal asked the emperor if he would still be willing to find the elixir if he had to endure endless loneliness.
The emperor thought for a while and answered the immortal, he was willing. The immortal did not give the emperor the elixir, but gave him a blueprint. This blueprint was a blueprint for building a palace, but this palace was difficult to build and needed to be built underground.
The gods told the emperor to go back, and when such a palace was built, the elixir of immortality would appear in the palace by itself.
Finally, the gods sent the master to send the emperor's team out of the master's hometown.
Later, the emperor really built the underground palace, and the elixir of immortality really appeared in the underground palace. The emperor was so happy that he ate the elixir in one gulp, but when he took the elixir, the door of the underground palace was automatically locked. This emperor
He will remain in the underground palace forever and cannot come out.
Master told Grandpa that this underground palace was hidden in the mountain they just went to. Grandpa, who was sitting on horseback after listening to the story, turned back to look at the mountains in the distance and told Master that the story was not interesting at all, so he asked Master
Zu retold the story of Hou Yi shooting the sun.
"Grandpa, the story you are telling is about Qin Shihuang going to Penglai to seek immortality. Qin Shihuang died on the way. I am afraid that all primary school students now know this story."
I laughed at my grandfather for his poor story-telling skills. My grandfather didn’t speak and stared at me with a half-smile.
"Is not it?"
As soon as I retorted, I suddenly felt like a lightning strike in my mind. I froze on the spot again, eyes wide open and didn't speak for a long time.
"Drink some water. My reaction at that time was not much better than yours now."
Grandpa handed the water glass to me, and I mechanically took the water glass with my hand. I heard the sound of my teeth shaking and the water glass colliding.
The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor was only discovered in the 1970s. Grandpa was seven or eight years old in the first year he followed his master. More than thirty years before the discovery of the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, the master told his grandpa that there was an underground palace inside the mountain.
There lived an immortal emperor.
"Two thousand years ago? Grandpa?"
After calming down, I stared at my grandfather's helpless smiling face and asked in disbelief.
"If you believe it, I will believe it! If you don't believe it, I won't believe it either!"
Grandpa put away his pipe, straightened his clothes, and said with a smile. These are just random guesses. He will rest for a while and wait for breakfast. After dinner, he will accompany his uncle for a walk in the village. It is the first day of the new year.
Give red envelopes to juniors.
Grandpa took out a dozen red envelopes from his pocket, took one out and handed it to me.
"Happy New Year, grandson!"
"Grandpa, you are happy too!"
I was about to reach out to receive the red envelope, but grandpa suddenly withdrew his hand and put the red envelope into his pocket. He said that there were only nine red envelopes. If you give me one, it won't be enough for others. It's just a formality.
Watching grandpa walk out of the room with light steps, the corners of my mouth couldn't help but twitch, ginger is still spicy!
Lying on the wooden bed, staring at the mountains outside the window, thinking about everything my grandfather told me, I felt more and more mysterious about my master.
Maybe my grandfather told me so much just to prevent me from being sad when we parted.
"Guo Guo, it's time to get up!"
There was a sound of running outside the house, and Chujiu rushed to my room.
In the hall downstairs, my uncle, Grandma Jian Shu and Master Vidyadhara were sitting at the table in the hall drinking tea.
On the ninth day of the lunar month, he ran in front of them, cupped his fists and saluted: "Happy New Year, may you get rich, and bring me the red envelope!"
"Little devil! Where did you learn these things?"
Grandma Jian Shu smiled and patted Chujiu's round head and took out a red envelope.
Unexpectedly, Master Vidyadhara also prepared red envelopes for us. Seeing the pained expression on Master Vidyadhara’s face, I couldn’t help but laugh. He must be thinking that he would have to fill out two less remittance forms.
After Chujiu took the red envelope from her uncle, she waved her hand towards me.
"Guo Guo, we are one year older!"
The early morning sunlight shone in from outside the door and stung my face with warmth. I raised my hands to shield my eyes and looked at the mountains in the distance.
