Chapter 194 Fengwang Village

When military vehicles are performing missions, the highway has special passages and can pass free of charge.

After getting on the highway, just as Chujiu said, go at full speed. On the car speed indicator, the pointer is always in the red zone. What is really happening is that one car is overtaking another.

After more than ten hours of train journey, and more than eight hours of continuous driving on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year, we saw the Panzhihua service area indicated on the road sign.

After the car stopped, Chujiu jumped out of the car, shook his arms, rubbed his eyes, and said that he had been concentrating on the road for so long, but his brain really couldn't stand it, so he had to wash his face with cold water to wake up.

According to what was marked on the map, there was actually a service area where we had to stop and rest for half an hour. On Chujiu, we just filled up the tank and continued our journey.

"Guo Guo, let's have a bowl of noodles. I can't stand it anymore and my stomach is starting to growl."

In Panzhihua, when passing by a noodle restaurant open for business, Chujiu parked the car on the side of the road.

When Chujiu said this, my stomach began to growl. Then I remembered that we hadn't eaten anything since we got off the train.

After taking a look at the light rain on the back seat, Chujiu and I jumped out of the car and ordered two large bowls of noodles. Chujiu was really hungry, and even drank all the noodle soup in the bowl. I touched Chujiu sadly.

I bought two bottles of drinks and a bag of bread from the shop next door.

On the way from Panzhihua to the county town, the speed of the car was much slower. It took more than three hours to get down from the intersection of the so-called third hotel where we had stayed before. The hotel's courtyard door was locked with a chain. It seemed that the owner

More bad luck than good.

The reason why we came down here is because the gas station next to the national highway is the only gas station in this small county.

The road leading from the county town to the village is basically a dilapidated gravel road, except for an occasional asphalt road.

The car was bumping more and more violently. I looked at the ambulance cot in the back seat from time to time, which was equipped with anti-shock air cushions, but it didn't have much impact.

When we reached the three-way intersection, I knew the rest of the road. After all, Chujiu and I came down from the village two days ago and walked all the way here to wait for the bus.

From here to the village at the foot of Chujiuzhaizi Mountain, it is about thirty miles. We walked for almost two hours at that time.

The bumpy dirt road was only slightly wider than a car. Chujiu drove extremely carefully, and the speed of the car was not much faster than an ox cart.

Only in the evening did I realize that this military jeep really had nothing to say except its headlights. The halogen lights didn’t play a big role on country roads without street lights. As for the headlights, they were still brighter than Uncle Ding’s Cadillac imported from the United States.

Some.

"On the ninth day of the lunar month, Shimomura has arrived. Have you passed by?"

I stuck my head out of the car door to help look at the surrounding road conditions. The car did not stop in Xiancun, but drove to an even worse dirt road.

"Guo Guo, I know, we are going to the village next door. Grandma Jian Shu and her village are on the top of the hill over there."

An hour later, the car entered a village with fewer people than Xiacun. Following the car lights, I only saw five or six houses. On the ninth day of the month, I parked the car next to the house near the foot of the mountain.

The sound of the car engine woke up the owner of the house. A middle-aged man with a coat stuck his head out of the house. Chujiu went up and spoke to the man in dialect. The man kept nodding.

"Guo Guo, wait for me for a while. I'll ask someone for some water to bring with me. There is no spring water along this way."

I just discovered two brand new military water bottles near the door of the back seat of the car.

Chujiu came out of the host's house carrying a filled kettle, handed one kettle to me, and held the other kettle on her shoulder.

"I told my uncle that he will take care of the car for us. We have to walk the rest of the mountain road. Guo Guo, we will take turns carrying Sister Xiaoyu. You go first, I have to take a rest."

After helping Xiaoyu up from the ambulance bed in the back seat, Chujiu also removed the two safety ropes from the ambulance bed.

I carried Xiaoyu on my back, and Chujiu fixed Xiaoyu on my back with a safety rope, saying that there were definitely only advantages and no disadvantages.

I didn’t walk very far before I believed Chujiu’s words. If there was no safety rope fixed on the hiking trail, I might really have dropped Xiaoyu off my back.

The mountain road is wider than the road from Xiacun to Chujiuzhaigou, which is enough for two people to walk side by side.

Chu Jiu was shining a flashlight next to me to illuminate the road. He told me that the road to Grandma Jian Shu’s village was better because there were twice as many people in Fengwang Village than in Tuhai Village, with more than 300 people, and they would go down the mountain frequently.

.

When I first started climbing, I didn’t find it difficult to carry Xiaoyu on my back, and I thought it might have something to do with the fact that I had grown up standing in a stance.

After almost an hour, I realized how wrong I was. Every step I took, I had to grit my teeth and use all my strength to lift my feet.

On a boulder platform, I put down Xiaoyu and started to rest. When I drank water, I felt my throat was burning.

This huge stone platform should be a place to rest when going up and down the mountain, because I saw some melon seed shells on the ground next to the stone platform.

"Guo Guo, let me do it."

After carrying Xiaoyu on my back on the ninth day of the lunar month, I also used safety ropes to secure it. I carried two backpacks, one in each hand, refusing to carry them on my back.

Carrying Xiaoyu, who was half a head taller than me, Chujiu acted effortlessly and seemed much more relaxed than me. He still had the energy to tease me. His shoulders must not be able to bear the weight of two backpacks.

Chujiu, who has been practicing martial arts since childhood, is indeed much better than me. After walking on the mountain road for two hours, Xiaoyu was handed over to me to carry.

During my break, I looked at the time on my pager, and it was almost twelve o'clock.

Chujiu estimated the distance and told me that I could reach the village at about four or five o'clock in the morning.

I remembered that when I was in a coma, I came to the village to pick up Grandma Jian Shu on the ninth day of the lunar month. I was curious about how long it would take for two people to walk from one mountain to another.

Chujiu smiled mysteriously and told me that they went down the mountain in less than an hour and did not take this road.

When I was about to lecture him on why we didn't take the shortcut, Chujiu continued, "That road can only go down the mountain but not up the mountain. I will know it later."

I rotated with Chujiu three times, and sure enough, after changing the battery of the flashlight once, when it was almost five o'clock, Chujiu pointed to a lake not far away and smiled and said that Fengwang Village was by the lake.

There was just some light in the sky, and the several-mile-wide lake reflected the sky, giving people a sense of peace and tranquility.

There is such a big lake deep in such a big mountain. This is really a miracle of creation.

"My old man said that this is nothing. Fuxian Lake in Yunnan is the largest lake in the mountains. The water storage capacity is the largest lake in our country, and the lake water is super clear. You can see with the naked eye more than ten meters deep.

Bottom of the lake.”

Just as we were approaching the village, a water wave as thick as a bucket suddenly rose from the lake, shooting towards us like lightning in the water.
