Chapter four hundred and ninetieth Meng Po soup

I remember that Chujiu told me about Po Meng’s identity with an expression that said she wanted to be beaten.

Chujiu first quoted me a sentence from "The Classic of Mountains and Seas": "The emperor had two daughters. When they swam into the river, it would be windy and rainy when they came out. Because they were the emperor's daughters, they were called Po Meng."

Meng Po's father was Emperor Yao, her original name was Nvying, and Meng Po also had a sister named Ehuang.

The two sisters were born noble and respected by their people. When they grew up, Emperor Yao betrothed their two daughters to Emperor Shun.

Unfortunately, Emperor Shun passed away not long after the marriage. Meng Po and her sister were so sad that they cried and called for their husbands by the lake all day long. Finally, they both jumped into the Xiangjiang River and committed suicide.

After the two died, Ehuang gained the ability to control wind and rain and became the goddess of Xiangjiang River.

But for some unknown reason, Nvying came to hell and turned into Po Meng holding a bowl of soup on Naihe Bridge.

"In folklore, Po Meng is an old woman, but in fact she is a super beauty."

On the ninth day of the lunar month, her eyes narrowed into a crescent shape. Po Meng was definitely more beautiful than the other sisters in the village, as well as Sister Xiaoyu and Teacher Ding. After all, she was the emperor's daughter.

After explanations on the ninth day of the lunar month, I realized that Meng Po’s identity was indeed extraordinary. Among the Three Emperors and Five Emperors, Emperor Yao was her father and Emperor Shun was her husband. With such a background, no one in the Six Realms dared to offend her easily.

As we all know, there is Naihe Bridge on Huangquan Road and Meng Po Tang in front of Naihe Bridge.

Meng Po is most famous because she is in charge of Meng Po Soup. Legend has it that Meng Po Soup is made from the "Biangan flower" Manzhu Shahua and Wangchuan water.

It is recorded in the "Buddhist Sutra": "The flowers on the other side bloom for thousands of years and fall for thousands of years. The flowers and leaves will never see each other. Love is not cause and effect, fate is destined to life and death."

The flower on the other side is called the "flower of forgetfulness", and the Wangchuan River is the boundary river between Huangquan Road and Hades. The water in the Wangchuan River is also called Wangchuan water. Drinking it will make you forget all love.

It is also recorded in Taoist books that Meng Po Decoction is based on eight tears: one drop of raw tears, two cents of old tears, three cents of bitter tears, four cups of regret tears, five inches of lovesickness tears, six cups of tears of sickness, seven feet of tears of separation,

This eighth taste is the sad tears of a Meng Po.

The Eight Tears of Meng Po Decoction are used as a guide to remove the bitterness and leave the sweetness. All living beings have been suffering for a lifetime, but Meng Po on the bridge gave them the sweetness of the last and new beginning.

"Although Po Meng is a super beauty, she is the person that everyone least wants to see, hehe."

I slapped Chujiu on the forehead. Nonsense, doesn't seeing her mean that I am dead? It would be better if I never see her in this life.

It was a good thing. I was the first one among so many people to see Mrs. Meng. I looked at the road at my feet and suddenly realized that this road was Huangquan Road.

I laughed at myself and looked at the road in the mist. It shouldn't be too far before I really saw Po Meng. At this time, I began to imagine how good it would be if I didn't drink this Po Meng soup. At least I could remember it.

Live with people you care about.

"On the ninth day of the lunar month, stories always say that some people have never drunk Meng Po soup. Do you think this is true or false?"

I remember that after telling me about Po Meng on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year, I asked this question casually.

The grinning smile on Chujiu is of course true. At least the master went to the underworld again and again, so he definitely didn’t drink Meng Po soup.

Just when I had black lines in my head and wanted to beat Chu Jiu, he told me that he had read in the books at home that there were indeed stories of ordinary people who had never drank Meng Po soup and could clearly remember everything in their previous lives.

The most famous and recorded are the two famous officials in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. Yang Hu, the founder of the Western Jin Dynasty, was erudite, capable of writing, honest and upright, and elegant in manners.

In the Western Jin Dynasty, Yang Hu was awarded the title of Ju Pingzi for his meritorious service, and he shared secrets with Xun Xu. He was modest and gentle, and won the hearts of the army and the people with his kindness and gentleness.

History books clearly record that Yang Hu remembered his previous life when he was a child.

One day when Yang Hu was five years old, Yang Hu asked his wet nurse to give him a golden ring to play with. The wet nurse was confused that there was no such thing at home.

Yang Hu then ran to the mulberry tree at the east wall of his neighbor's house and took out the golden ring.

The owner of the Li family was very surprised. This golden ring was originally a lost thing of his dead child. How could Yang Hu find it?

The wet nurse told the reason, and the Li family was very sad. Only then did they realize that Yang Hu was the reincarnation of her own child.

This incident spread all over the country at that time, and many people who had interacted with Yang Hu in his previous life took tests and confirmed that Yang Hu was really the dead child of the Li family.

Bao Liang, who also served as the governor of Donghai in the Jin Dynasty, also told his parents when he was five years old: "I am the son of Li family in Quyang. Unfortunately, I fell into a well and died when I was nine years old."

So Bao Liang's parents went to search, and sure enough they found the Li family in Quyang. After careful questioning, they were consistent with what Bao Liang said, confirming that he was indeed the reincarnation of Li's deceased son.

I asked Chujiu at that time why they only informed their families when they were both five years old.

Chu Jiu rolled his eyes at me, could they express themselves clearly when they were one or two years old? Besides, after the age of five, children's spiritual awareness will become weaker and weaker, and they will gradually be unable to remember things during their lives due to the influence of the laws of heaven.

.

The last person who did not drink Meng Po soup in the Chujiu family book was Cui Yanwu from Boling, the governor of Weizhou during the Kaihuang reign of the Sui Dynasty.

During the inspection, Cui Yanwu came to a small town. He was pleasantly surprised and told his followers that he had lived here as a wife in his previous life, and he still remembered where his home was.

Cui Yanwu then rode his horse into an alley, turned a few corners, came to a house, and knocked on the door.

The person who opened the door to greet him was an old man. Cui Yanwu walked into the door, went to the main room first, stared at the bulge six or seven feet above the ground on the east wall, and said to the old man: "The Buddhist scriptures I used to read and the five golden hairpins

Hidden together in the bulge of this wall, the last page of the seventh volume of the sutra has been burned by fire, and a few lines are missing. Every time I recite this sutra now, when I get to the end of the seventh volume, I always can’t think of it.

Get up the lost text."

Cui Yanwu then asked his men to cut open the wall, and sure enough they found scriptures and gold hairpins, exactly as he said.

The old man cried and said that his late wife often recited this sutra when she was still alive, and the golden hairpin was also left by her.

My wife died in childbirth, so I don’t know where these things were placed.

Cui Yanwu was also very emotional and walked along the stone path to the locust tree in front of the courtyard. When he was about to give birth to a child, he cut off a lock of his hair and placed it in the hole of the locust tree.

As expected, Cui Yanwu's men found the hair-twister in the tree hole.

Seeing this scene, the old man felt sad and happy, and finally believed that Cui Yanwu was the reincarnation of his late wife. When Cui Yanwu left, he left some clothes and generous gifts of money to the old man.

According to historical records, not long after Cui Yanwu left the town, his memory of his previous life became increasingly dim. Some people speculated that this was Cui Yanwu's unfulfilled wish in his previous life, and God specifically gave him a chance to fulfill his wish.

Some people also speculate that it was because Cui Yanwu had been reciting scriptures in his previous life that he did not drink Meng Po soup after his death.
