After walking for more than 20 minutes after three miles, the lights of Qinglong Temple were still on.
"arrive."
I let go of Cow's hand and secretly wiped the sweat from my palms on my pants.
"Yeah." The cow lowered its head like a mosquito.
The old monk was sitting cross-legged on one side of the Buddha statue in the main hall, holding a string of rosary beads in his hand. He closed his eyes and recited Buddhist scriptures.
We stood at the door of the main hall, quietly waiting for the old monk to finish his homework.
"Grandmaster!"
"Amitabha." The old monk opened his eyes and saw us, chanted the Buddha's name, put away the beads in his hand, and stood up.
Arriving at the side room, the old monk pointed to the futon on the ground.
"Sit down, donor."
I sat down in response, but the cow stood still and seemed unwilling to sit on the straw futon.
"This futon is warm in winter and cool in summer. If you meditate for a long time, it will prevent you from all kinds of diseases. The female donor must not only see the broken surface."
After listening to what the old monk said, I pushed the other futon next to me toward the cow.
When he turned sideways, the jade pendant in his trouser pocket slipped out.
"Amitabha. Can this piece of jade from the donor be given to the old monk to hold his eyes?" the monk said, staring at the jade pendant tied to my belt.
I was about to refuse. This jade pendant was given to me by my grandfather and asked me to carry it with me. What if this strange eminent monk asked me to donate it to the temple?
"The donor can rest assured, the old monk just looks familiar to it."
I untied the red rope and handed the jade pendant to the old monk. The old monk took it in his hand, squinted his eyes and looked at it carefully for a while, then held it in his hand again, closing his eyes as if quietly feeling something.
After a while, the old monk opened his eyes, sighed, and handed me the jade pendant.
"Wear it well and close to your body. The jade that has been cultivated by Taoist masters for many years can drive away evil spirits and avoid disasters."
The old monk took out his rosary beads and recited a Buddha's name, then closed his eyes and began to chant sutras. I don't know why, but I heard his voice of sutras, mixed with a strange emotion.
After seeing the jade pendant, the old monk acted a little weird. Could it be that he knew my grandfather? Then I denied that Qinglong Temple and Lijia Village were two completely unrelated places.
After the chanting, the old monk stared at me for a long time, until I felt a little uncomfortable and said, "Who are you, Qin De?"
There was a click in my heart. I didn't know how to describe my complicated mood at this time. Everything seemed so unreal and yet so real.
"It's my grandpa!"
"Amitabha, that little kid that day was Ji La's apprentice? He should also have a jade pendant like yours, right?"
I didn't say anything. The old monk recited a Buddha's name and asked a question. My mind felt like it was struck by lightning, and I didn't recover for a long time.
"How is that annoying Qin De's ear injury?"
Ear injury? Grandpa can’t hear in one ear. Isn’t it because he revealed too many secrets and took responsibility?
Probably because he saw me like this, the old monk also saw some clues about something. No matter how I asked him what he knew, he just kept silent.
Later, I saw that I was a little disappointed, so I said, what I can tell is that this jade pendant was worn by Chujiu’s grandfather for many years, and the jade pendant worn by Chujiu was worn by my grandfather for many years. Let
I don't need to think too much, everything grandpa did was for me.
"And the recent incident in your school, please don't interfere! This is not something you can solve! Someone will handle it!"
"Is it really that drum?" Cow, who had not spoken during the whole process, suddenly asked.
"Amitabha, the old monk probably is!" The old monk recited the Buddha's name with compassion on his face. This Buddha's name penetrated my heart, and I became no longer impetuous.
"Master, tell me what's wrong with that drum? Is there something evil living in it?"
The old monk hesitated and said, "Let me tell you a story!"
During the Tang Dynasty, there was a Heishan Temple in the shadow of Beitai. There was a monk in Heishan Temple named Dharma Ai.
He worked as a temple overseer at the Black Mountain Temple for twenty years. He used the money from the temple to buy a lot of land and occupied it for himself. He owed a huge debt and needed to work as an ox for three lifetimes to pay it off.
Later, as I got older and older, my love for the Dharma also became deeper and deeper. After my love for the Dharma passed away, I was told by my disciples in a dream that I would peel off its skin and make a drum, stand it outside the temple, and let people beat it thousands of times.
Only in this way can he redeem his sins as soon as possible and escape his suffering.
"Ah? You said that the drum in the school is made of the human skin of Master Fa'ai?"
The cow asked in disbelief. The old monk shook his head and said that the drum in Heishan Temple was broken hundreds of years ago.
"Master, what do you mean?"
Perhaps because of my grandfather's relationship, after I asked this question, the old monk recited a Buddha's name.
"The moon has cloudy and sunny days, people have good and evil, and the same goes for magical weapons. I just guess that the drum is an evil weapon and comes from an evil sect. That sect moved overseas in the Tang Dynasty and does not belong to our country. You and
That little doll's ability is not enough to solve that evil weapon. Even if I go there, I can't solve the fundamental problem."
"Master, according to you, isn't that very dangerous?"
"In today's world, there is no way to operate evil weapons. Maybe the drum has just been left out. It can only hurt people under certain harsh conditions. At least it is safe for now."
After the old monk finished speaking, he told the cow that he would not come to Qinglong Temple in the future, and even if he came, he would not be seen there.
I asked why? The old monk said that he was also going out to look for the successor. I didn’t expect these two old guys to be so fast.
I asked casually, why do you say that grandpa is a nuisance? The old monk said, wouldn't it be irritating to people who even scheme against monks?
When we left Qinglong Temple, the old monk took us to the entrance of the temple. He took off a string of rosary beads from his wrist and handed them to me. He said, "I remember his Dharma name is Vidyadhara."
After I walked a certain distance with the cow, I heard the voice of the Vidyadhara Master from far behind.
"Amitabha, the world is very big, just like the starry sky. It will not be overshadowed by the presence of a star, nor will it be eclipsed by the absence of a star."
I don’t know if this sentence was meant for me or the cows.
I recalled everything that happened after I met Master Vidyadhara in my mind, thinking hard about every sentence, for fear of missing useful information.
The information revealed by Master Vidyadhara is that he is very familiar with grandpa, and at least knows many things about grandpa. Grandpa’s hearing loss is caused by injuries.
Is it for my own good that grandpa conceals his affairs, or does he not want me to know about it too early? Because he concealed his past affairs, he may not be able to hide them anymore after I met Chujiu. Grandpa should have fully wanted to know this.
.
After Master Vidyadhara saw my jade pendant, he decided to go out and recruit disciples.
Coupled with the clues in the story about grandpa that Chujiu told before, what is the connection between all the clues?
"Careful!" the cow shouted, and I came back to my senses and noticed the steps in front of me.
The cow reached out and took my hand.
"Qin Feng, many things that cannot be understood will come to light as time goes by."
