Chapter 18

Chapter 18: Iron and Steel

Sarah's heart suddenly became tense.

She habitually pressed the light switch in the living room next to the door.

"Crack!"

No response, the light is broken again.

The voltage in this shabby apartment is unstable and electrical appliances are often damaged.

Just when her eyes focused on the figure behind the curtain, the street lights outside kept flashing, and it felt like the shadows of the furniture in the room bathed in intermittent light suddenly lengthened.

The light and shadow of the electric lamp kept flickering, and the next second, the street lamp seemed to be unable to hold up, and emitted a crackling electronic wail. Immediately, most of the light in Sarah's house disappeared, leaving only the night wind blowing in from the open window and raising the curtains.

It's two o'clock in the morning on the edge of Gotham City's Upper East Side. There may be bright lights in other places, but in this community on the border between the slums and the prosperous city, everything seems dark and quiet, and even the windows don't know when they will change.

It's like the mouth of a ferocious beast that chooses people to devour.

There was no answer to Sarah's soft call just now. She could only be sure that the person behind the curtain was definitely not the illusion she saw.

"Huhu——"

"Hurry up! Hurry up! Hurry up and answer the phone! Damn sister——"

Ignoring the pale half of her face, all of Sarah's attention was attracted by the completely rotted right half of her face.

The familiar yet unfamiliar voice didn't sound like a response, but more like some kind of desperate roar.

"Bang!"

In short, they have done everything they can to save your life and provided every support except substantial help.

"Sarah? What a coincidence, I just got off the plane." Dana was stunned by her sister's scream as soon as she answered the phone.

The left side of her chest was completely rotten, not only revealing the terrifying cavity, but also the light and shadow behind it could be vaguely seen through the body.

"Where are you?"

She could completely imagine that if she didn't do something, in the next round, this damn zombie would tear her body apart and eat her flesh and blood alive.

Normally, Ange would not care.

In the ghettos of Gotham City, the most unreliable people are your neighbors.

This terrifying face immediately aroused her stress reaction. She kicked her left foot violently, and a round stool that was placed in the direction of the door was completely kicked away by her, and flew towards the other party with a roar.

Of course she knew that her elder sister had gone to Dubai with that mysterious rich second generation to live happily ever after. Regardless of whether her elder sister could fly on a branch and become a phoenix, just because her elder sister mentioned that Ange might have mastered the black mask, she dismissed her elder sister.

Consider it a life-saving straw.

Seeing Sarah, who was already a hundred meters away, the female zombie chased after her with a somewhat uncoordinated pace.

Another blow destroyed the shoe cabinet.

Seeing that the zombies couldn't catch up for a while, Sarah ran as fast as she could and took out her cell phone to call her sister.

"Sa...la..."

When Black Canary saw Ange approaching with a serious face, she immediately realized something and turned on her voice.

"I have commandeered this plane!" Angela opened the cabin door and got on.

"So fast!?" This time, even Sarah was shocked.

This time, the other party finally responded.

In this shabby apartment, she met more than once a crazy homeless man who got drunk in the middle of the night and went from house to house, knocking on the door.

Without saying a word, he took the people over directly.

The other party's breathing was dull and hoarse, which aroused Sarah's inner fear of the unknown and her terrifying imagination of the indescribable. A chill ran through Sarah's body from her tailbone to the back of her head, and spread all over her body.

She had goosebumps, and she knew that her face had turned pale with fright without looking in the mirror.

After cutting off the phone, Ange's eyes fell on a helicopter not far from the Gulfstream aircraft that was ready to take off.

Without even half a second of hesitation, looking at the female zombie rushing towards her, Sarah yanked and threw the entire one-and-a-half-meter-high shoe cabinet next to the door.

The flying stool was just enough to smash an ordinary person's head and bleed. As soon as it flew in front of the female zombie, the monster suddenly waved its already bone-white left claw and slapped the wooden stool to pieces!

The aura of fear instantly filled Sarah's chest.

Apart from yourself, the only person you can rely on is your loved ones.

At this moment, a second loud noise came from behind Sarah, and the female zombie actually smashed the window sill on the third floor of the apartment building and jumped down.

I saw that the zombie was unfortunately stuck in the window, and her uncoordinated limbs hit the window frame hard, making a loud noise.

Through the relatively bright moonlight, Sarah finally saw the 'person'.

Many of the wood chips and glass fragments that exploded in the sky were stuck on the female zombie's body, but she didn't notice it and stepped heavily on the ground, even breaking several old sidewalk tiles.

This is not my sister’s voice!

Ange grabbed the phone from Black Canary: "I'm Ange."

It was so good that at this moment, not only did a gust of wind blow into the room, blowing up the curtains, but coincidentally, the moonlight also peeked out from the clouds.

How does it sound more like...Sarah's own voice?

Without blinking, Sarah secretly shifted her bag to her left hand, and on her right hand she touched the T-stick that she had hung behind the door all year round.

No!

She is no longer a person.

"Sister! Come and save me! There is a zombie that looks a lot like me and is chasing me! That thing can call my name, so it's probably coming for me."

"Sarah, are you kidding me?"

"Boss! Save me! As long as you save me, you can do anything you want!"

Finally, the phone was connected.

Sarah's heart was beating wildly, and the nervousness caused the blood flow in her veins to accelerate. She tried to calm her breath and widened her eyes.

At least the tragic death of the shoe cabinet bought Sarah a second, and she exited the room without looking back. Instead of heading towards the stairs, she flew toward the window at the end of the corridor, directly exiting the window that was only about half a meter long and wide.

He jumped out of the window, jumped from the third floor to the ground, adjusted his posture in mid-air, and even did three forward somersaults when he landed.

Without getting closer, she bent her knees slightly, prepared to leap backward out of the door behind her, and called softly again: "Dina, is that you?"

Sarah's screams on the phone were heard on Black Canary's phone.

Sarah almost cried.

As a time traveler, he was sensitive to the huge crisis hidden in Sarah Lance's words.

Zombies!?

The most outrageous thing is that the half-intact face of this female zombie is actually hers, Sarah Lance!

"Ah——" Even if she has considerable military power, even if she lives in Gotham City's daily life full of violence and death, in the final analysis, Sarah is just an ordinary person in this life.

Look back!

"Okay! I'll be there in ten minutes."

Sarah heard the noise and turned around, only to find the monster chasing after him relentlessly. She was even more frightened.

"What a joke! Fxxk! If you don't come to save me, I'm going to collect your sister's body. Oh my God! That's a zombie. Maybe I'll turn into a monster like that if I get bitten. For mom's sake

For my sake, please save me." Sarah screamed loudly.

What a terrifying face that is!

His face was completely gone, and what was exposed were his eyes that were as dry as dead fish eyes, blackened cheek muscles, and disgusting gums with several broken teeth.

The lights in many rooms in the apartment building came on and then turned off quickly.

No one knows whether that loud noise in your room is the result of a bad domestic violence incident? A bloody purge of a local gang? Or a botched arrest by a lousy cop?

The only thing that kept her from turning around and running was the outline of a body that was very similar to hers.

"I was just at home. I definitely can't wait for the police, and I don't know how to contact Batman. How about I lure the monster to the old place where we used to hide and seek, and you bring your invincible boss over." Sarah spoke very quickly.

Quickly, mixed with her breathing, there were sounds of destruction of objects not far away in the background, and occasionally one or two weird growls.

The pilot was confused, but as a professional pilot with principles, credibility and professional ethics: "Sorry! Sir, this plane was booked by Mr. Dupont, you have no right..."

Before he finished speaking, Louis next to Ange very alertly opened the chained suitcase in his hand. Ange very smoothly took out two stacks of [Franklin] from it and threw it at the pilot's face.

"Okay! Boss, where are you going?"

How can professional ethics be so beautiful!?
