Chapter 7 The End of Dursley (1)

Harry's life has been terrible lately. A lot has changed in his life since he messed up on Dudley's birthday.

Every time he went shopping with Aunt Petunia, he always felt like the strangers on the street knew him, and they were all very strange. One time he went shopping with Aunt Petunia and Dudley, and one of them was wearing a violet top hat.

The little man bowed to him.

Aunt Petunia angrily asked Harry if he knew the man, and then went back without buying anything.

Another time, on the bus, an old woman in green clothes waved to him with a smile. Another time, a bald man in a purple floor-length robe ran over to shake hands with him on the street, and then left without saying a word.

It's open.

The most incredible thing was that when Harry wanted to observe them more carefully, these people disappeared without a trace.

"These guys are as weird as Ivy. They must know some secrets but are unwilling to tell them."

Harry thought

At this moment, he was facing a large iron bucket. There was an unpleasant smell emitting from the iron bucket. The gray-black water in the bucket was soaked with something that looked like a rag, which was his school uniform.

Harry will go to Stonewall Middle School, and the Dursleys are reluctant to spend money to buy new ones for him, so they take Dudley's old uniforms and re-dye them.

"I'll dye Dudley's old clothes for you to use. After I dye them, they will look exactly like everyone else's clothes." Aunt Petunia said to Harry.

Although Harry was very suspicious of this, he thought it best not to argue with her. At this moment, the mailbox outside clicked and some letters fell on the doormat.

"Dudley go get the letter," Vernon said.

"Why don't you let Harry get it!" Dudley didn't want to move.

"Harry go get the letter," Vernon said again.

"Dudley, go get it!" Harry naturally didn't want to be taken advantage of.

"Harry go get it!" "Dudley go get it!"——

The two of them were arguing

It wasn't until Dudley picked up his cane and prepared to hit him that Harry ran to get the letter.

There were three pieces of mail: one was a postcard from Uncle Vernon's sister, Aunt Marge, who was on vacation on the Isle of Wight; the other was a brown envelope that looked like a bill.

Harry picked up the last letter, which was addressed to Mr. Harry Potter in the cupboard under the stairs at 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey.

The envelope was made of heavy parchment, the address was written in emerald green ink, and there was no stamp.

Harry turned the envelope over in confusion, and saw a wax seal and a shield on it, with a capital "h" surrounded by a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake.

Perhaps the delay was too long, and the uncle in the kitchen urged him impatiently.

Harry walked back to the kitchen, keeping his eyes on his letter. He handed Uncle Vernon the bill and postcard, then sat down to open his yellow envelope.

Dudley kept paying attention to Harry, seeing him staring at the envelope with a playful smile on his face, ready to have some fun.

He stood up, reached out and snatched the envelope away, shouting to Vernon

"Look! There's Harry's seal!"

"Hey! That's for me." Harry stood up and wanted to snatch the envelope back. But Dudley immediately ran to Vernon and smiled smugly at him.

"Who will write to you, that Ivy? Humph!" Uncle Vernon also sneered.

"You are just a freak. No one would want to associate with you. How could anyone write to you?" Aunt Petunia came over and picked up the envelope and echoed.

The Dursleys often talked about him in front of Harry like this, as if Harry wasn't even there.

She opened the envelope and looked at it, then saw the first line. She seemed to faint. She grabbed her throat and choked, as if she was going to lose her breath.

"D-D-Dursley~"

Uncle Vernon grabbed the envelope and took a look. His face turned from red to blue, and then slowly turned gray.

The two looked at each other, speechless. The scene was eerily quiet for a moment, but Dudley was obviously not used to being left out.

"I want to read it! Show me the letter quickly!" he shouted

"I want to read it!" Harry was very angry. "That was originally written for me!"

"Get out!" Uncle Vernon yelled. He grabbed Harry and Dudley by the scruff of their necks, threw them into the corridor, and slammed the kitchen door.

"Vernon, look at the address here. How do they know where he lives? He's not always watching us, right?" Petunia's voice was trembling.

"Surveillance? Maybe they even followed us! I mean, I always see some strange people!" Vernon said angrily.

The two of them were walking around in the kitchen as if they were thinking about strategies.

"But what should we do? Should we reply to them?"

"No, let's just pretend we didn't receive it and ignore it!"

"But----"

"Penny, I will never let any of them into this house. We swore an oath to stop this lurid nonsense!"

Then, the kitchen door was opened

"Where's my letter!"

"I want to see that letter!"

Harry and Dudley shouted to Vernon together

"I have burned the letter. The address on it was wrong."

"It's not wrong at all! It even says I live in a cupboard!"

"Shut up!" Vernon roared. He looked very angry, and he took several deep breaths before forcing a smile.

"Speaking of this cupboard, your aunt and I have considered that you have grown up and this place is indeed a bit small. We think it would be better for you to move to Dudley's other bedroom." Perhaps because of the possibility of being monitored,

Uncle Vernon decided to be a little nicer to Harry.

"Why?" Harry said.

"No questions! Move all your things upstairs, right now!"

At night, Harry sat on the bed

"I should have just opened that letter."

Harry sighed and stretched out on the bed.

If it were yesterday, he would move it up at any cost. But today, he would rather take the letter and move it back to his cupboard. Maybe there is a secret in it that Ivy doesn't want to tell him.

The next day, I received several more similar letters. Another dispute.

Then the third day, the fourth day, and so on...a large number of letters will be delivered here every day. There are all kinds of owls standing outside their house, even the eggs Penny bought are opened.

envelope.

No matter what method the Dursleys used, even boarding up the entire house couldn't stop it.

"It's over!" Vernon said trying to remain calm.

"You can't stay in this place anymore, pack up your things and leave here immediately. Dudley! I'll give you 5 minutes to pack up your junk!" He ordered while tugging on his beard.

Ten minutes later, they struggled to open the boarded-up door, rushed out, got into a car and sped off towards the highway.

In the car, half of the beard on Fu's face was pulled off by him. He looked so scary that no one dared to contradict him. He kept driving forward, and even Aunt Petunia didn't dare to ask where they were going.

"Get rid of them, get rid of them," Vernon was a bit nervous and kept saying this.

"Is daddy crazy?" Dudley asked Aunt Petunia listlessly.

"Today is Monday, and there's "Humberto the Great" tonight. I really want to be somewhere with a TV to watch it."

Harry was a little stunned after hearing Dudley's words.

"Tomorrow is Tuesday"

Tuesday was Harry's eleventh birthday. Of course, his birthdays were never any fun. Last year the Dursleys gave him a coat hook and a pair of Uncle Vernon's old socks.

But this year is different. He still remembers Ivy's promise. He will give himself gifts and tell himself the secrets he wants to know...if he knows where he is.
