Episode 15: Pyramids in the Desert

In the endless golden desert, there are two young men in cloaks, walking unsteadily forward, sometimes looking up to the front, sometimes turning their heads to look behind.

After confirming that they were on the right track, the two lowered their heads and lifted the cloaks behind them to cover the sky above their heads, where the sun could not be seen.

What's their purpose for doing this? Maybe it looks like it's keeping them a little cooler, even though they don't look dehydrated from the heat.

Angelo, who was walking in the desert, looked at the still empty front and couldn't help but start to complain:

"At that time, there must have been something wrong with my brain, otherwise I wouldn't have followed you to a place like this where no one has shit!"

After listening to Angelo's complaint, Reilly curled his lips, then pulled out his foot that was stuck in the sand, and said comfortingly:

"Just bear with it any longer, just think of it as practice. Besides, with your current strength, it's impossible for you to die from heat!"

"What?"

Reilly's words made Angelo exclaim. The latter pointed at the endless desert in front of him and shouted loudly:

"It's not like you don't know that I won't die from the heat, but that doesn't mean I can't feel the heat, let alone in a place where birds don't poop! Damn it, I must have had something wrong with my brain at that time!

"

After speaking complainingly, Angelo wiped the non-existent sweat drops on his forehead, then put down the cloak raised above his head, stood up straight, and looked at the endless desert in the distance, his eyes flashing with an unknown light.

"What's wrong? You can't walk, can you?"

Looking at Angelo who stopped, Reilly asked with concern.

In response to Rayleigh's concern, Angelo did not answer, but waved his hand.

Seeing that the latter was in a bad mood, Rayleigh also put down his cloak, then walked up to Angelo, followed his eyes and looked forward, and then couldn't help but ask:

"What? Did you see something?"

Angelo nodded, and then said gloomily:

"There is still a desert ahead, although there are a few cacti... By the way, we have this..."

While talking, Angelo suddenly remembered something, and then quickly took out Alastor from behind...

Why did he take out Alastor?

At this time, looking at Angelo who had drawn out his thunder sword, Reilly couldn't help but wonder.

But soon, Reilly will know what Angelo is going to do!

After Angelo pulled out the thunder sword, he looked at it carefully, then closed his eyes, as if he was communicating with the sword.

After a while, Angelo opened his eyes and suddenly raised Alastor high, and then a thunder suddenly fell from the sky...

At this time, waves of unknown whispers suddenly sounded in Rayleigh's ears, and then he saw that the originally bright sky gradually began to become gloomy.

Finally, with the sound of low thunder, everything in the field of vision was covered by dark clouds.

Looking at the rolling dark clouds in the sky, Angelo couldn't help but start to feel happy, and then he added more strength and used the rainstorm magic he had learned at the harbor earlier.

In an instant, a blue pillar of magic light shot straight into the sky along Alastor's sword, and then immediately after the rainstorm magic was finished, accompanied by the terrifying scene of lightning and thunder in the sky, heavy rain fell instantly,

Seeing this scene, Rayleigh wiped the rain off his face, and then looked at Angelo next to him in surprise.

It wasn't until Angelo's urging voice came that Rayleigh took a deep breath, and then couldn't help but ask:

"You can still create this kind of formation in the desert, Angelo, how many layers of power did you use?"

The question asked by Rayleigh made Angelo curl his lips. The latter took off the brave hair crown, smoothed his hair, took off his blue windbreaker and put it on his shoulders, and then replied impatiently.

One sentence:

"Who knows, at least this bad weather has disappeared, right? Well, stop dawdling, let's go!"

"You're right! Okay, I got it!"

Rayleigh nodded and felt that what the other party said made sense. He hurriedly took two steps and then chased after him.

After a while, the two of them climbed over the sand dunes. What they saw was a dead land. Occasionally, they could see one or two cacti, but they were of no use to the ecology of the entire desert.

Rayleigh, who was observing the surroundings, suddenly noticed a small green dot appearing on the left hand side. After rubbing his eyes in disbelief, he felt that he must have seen it right. Then he immediately greeted Angelo beside him and said,

He asked with a slightly skeptical tone:

"Alas! Where are you looking, Angelo? Look carefully. Is there an oasis there? If not, I may be hallucinating!"

Then, Angelo, who heard Rayleigh calling, looked in the direction of his finger and indeed found a small oasis. Then he wiped the rain from his face and replied in a calm tone:

"Well! It is indeed an oasis there. There seems to be a person there. He should not be far away. Let's go and have a look!"

After speaking, Angelo greeted Reilly, and the two of them quickly rushed to the oasis.

When they arrived at the oasis that Lei Li saw, they found a small tent in the center of the oasis.

Then the two looked at each other, and after walking over, Reilly patted the tent support and asked:

"Is anyone there? We are travelers passing by. The rain outside has stopped. Can you come out for a while? We will ask a few questions and then leave!"

After saying that, after seeing a figure sitting up appearing inside, Reilly walked to the entrance of the tent and waited quietly.

After a while, the man got dressed and walked out, complaining as he walked:

"Really, there wasn't a drop of rain for decades, but just a few days after I came out, a heavy rain came at any time. I was not prepared, and my clothes got soaked!"

After complaining, the man walked out of the tent. After seeing that there were only two men, Reilly and Angelo, the man took off his wet shirt and put it on the tent. His face was full of doubts.

asked:

"Where did you come from? I remember that no one has come to this desert for a long time?"

"We came from the big forest over there, and we heard people there say: There is a pyramid in this desert, and we want to come and see it!"

Riley replied.

Then, the man did not speak immediately, but after looking at the two of them carefully, he frowned slightly, and then continued:

"Oh~ If you are looking for the pyramid, it is over there. That's where I came from..."

Halfway through, the man slapped his forehead and made an expression of realization, then pointed the two of them in the west direction and continued:

"Oops! I forgot that you are outsiders. Didn't you see anything? Yes, it's a few cacti over there. Walk along the place where those cacti grow. Then you will see a large oasis. There are

A hotel is my home, and the pyramid is right there!"

After hearing this, Reilly nodded. After saying thank you, the two of them planned to leave. However, not long after they left, the man chased after them again. Amidst the doubtful expressions of the two, the man pretended to be worried.

He looked like this and narrated to the two of them:

"By the way, you must be careful when walking in this desert. If you accidentally run into Stephens's men, it will be over!"

"Sphinx? Who is that?"

After hearing an unfamiliar name, Lei Li quickly asked.

But in exchange, the other party waved his hands repeatedly and said that he only knew so much...

Then, just as the two were about to turn around and leave, Angelo was suddenly stunned for a moment, and then grabbed Reilly. The latter was about to ask, but was interrupted by Angelo.

"Shh~, listen!"

"I really don't know why those two outsiders came here at this time. If they meet the Sphinx... Zhen Zhenzhen, that person will give even the Demon King a headache..."

The sound gradually disappeared and finally became inaudible.

Then, Angelo frowned and slowly analyzed what he just heard in his mind, while Reilly on the side asked directly:

"Angelo! Angelo!"

"Huh? What?"

"Do you think that Sphinx will be our enemy? I always feel like I have to fight with him?"

After saying that, Rayleigh frowned and looked in the direction he was going, not knowing what he was thinking.

Angelo nodded silently, then took a deep breath and suggested:

"We'd better go to the hotel there and get some information first!"

Reilly nodded after hearing this, and then the two of them headed in the direction pointed by the previous person.

Along the way, with the cacti getting denser and denser in front of them, and even some other unfamiliar shrubs appearing on the road, the two finally arrived at the oasis that the man said.

"That's...a coconut tree? I can't believe it. I originally thought there were no coconut trees in this mountain world?"

After seeing the coconut trees growing on the oasis, Rayleigh shouted excitedly and then said something.

After saying this and greeting Angelo, Rayleigh ran to a coconut tree and kicked it with his foot, causing several large green coconuts to fall from the tree.

Later, after a little processing, Rayleigh handed an open coconut to Angelo, then picked up another one and drank it directly. While drinking, he couldn't help but admire:

"Ah! Standing on an oasis in the desert, drinking coconut juice and enjoying the breeze blowing by, how wonderful it feels!"

After saying that, he started drinking again and again.

And Angelo seemed to be infected by Rayleigh's excitement, and he also held the coconut and drank it.

After drinking, the two men repaired themselves a little, and then began to look for a hotel built on the oasis.

After searching for a while, the two of them saw a yurt-style building similar to a nomadic village. Then the two of them walked in. They had a tacit understanding that they did not ask for information immediately, but walked directly to the hotel counter...

"Are you tired? A little rest can relieve the fatigue of the journey? It only costs 90 gold coins a night!"

Later, after paying the double amount, the two of them lay down on the hotel bed and began to rest...

After all, the two of them haven't had much rest since they left the ice field, like a gear that never stops.

However, even precision gears need regular maintenance.

Therefore, with this idea in mind, the two of them slept until the evening of the next day...

Stretching, Rayleigh moved his body and kept mumbling. Then he looked at Angelo opposite and found that he had slept in for the first time. After seeing this scene, he always felt

It was a bit funny, so Rayleigh simply called him out:

"Um~ Even though I just woke up, I'm still a little sleepy! Angelo! Angelo! Wake up! It's time for us to leave!"

Almost as soon as Reilly finished speaking, Angelo jumped up from the bed instantly like a conditioned reflex. After the latter calmed down, he said meaningfully:

"Huh? Why, you finally woke up? If you haven't slept enough, you can take a nap. After all, you have been traveling for such a long time!"

"Um... I'm fine, at least for now. What's wrong? Listen to you, did you wake up once?"

Reilly replied sheepishly at first, and then asked with confusion on his face.

After asking, it seemed that he still felt a little sleepy. Reilly patted his face quickly, and Angelo's next words made Reilly freeze in place...

"Do you know why we didn't encounter an attack after entering the desert? Yes, you are right. I went to the pyramid to have a look before and met that guy named Sphinx..."
