Chapter 13 The Daughter's Pet

Cao Shujie suspected that he had encountered a nest of stupid rabbits today. After catching the first rabbit, he set up a simple trap on the spot and stayed there for another half an hour, and actually caught two more rabbits.

He was also speechless. The rabbit had water in its head. There were missing people in the house. Don’t you know how to be more vigilant? Don’t you know that pie in the sky will not fall?

"Deserve it!"

The happiest person was Mengmeng. She pointed at one of the little gray rabbits and insisted on hugging her.

Cheng Xiaolin looked at it again and again, and finally said: "Hubby, this one is about the same size as the one I saw this morning."

Cao Shujie looked around. He was now convinced that there was indeed a rabbit nest in this area, but he didn't know where it was yet.

"Forget it, let's just catch these three today. We can't kill them all." Cao Shujie said, "I'll catch them another day if I want to eat them."

Mengmeng didn't think about it at all. She jumped up and asked her father for the little gray rabbit, but Cao Shujie didn't agree: "Mengmeng, it's too dirty now. I'll clean it when I get home later before letting it be played with. Otherwise,

If there are bugs on it, it will burrow into your body, and then you will have a stomachache and need an injection."

When Mengmeng heard that the injection was about to be given, Mengmeng was so frightened that she ran to her mother's arms, but she glanced at the little gray rabbit from time to time, obviously not giving up yet.

After arriving, Cao Shujie asked his wife to look after his daughter. Cao Shujie followed the path up the mountain to check on the condition of the fruit trees.

He didn't know if it was an illusion, but he felt that the leaves seemed to be greener and brighter. As he got closer, he seemed to hear the fruit trees whispering and cheering.

"Okay, you work hard, and when the fruits bear fruit, I will sell the fruits to make money, and then prepare better nutrient solution for you!" Cao Shujie said something very embarrassing.

When I returned home with my mother and daughter by bicycle, my mother, Wang Yuelan, had not yet started preparing dinner.

When she saw her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter coming back, she wondered: "You are back so soon?"

"Grandma, look!" Mengmeng got ahead of her parents and pointed at the iron cage in the truck bed: "There are so many little rabbits!"

She reached out and gestured, her eyes widened, and two dimples appeared on her cheeks. Wang Yuelan also cooperated and said with a smile: "Let me take a look."

After seeing three rabbits, two large and one small, in the cage, I was really surprised: "Why did you catch so many?"

"Mom, we must have encountered a rabbit nest. I'll get a dog to look for it another day." Cao Shujie said.

He now desperately wants to get a good dog to play with.

Mengmeng's eyes lit up even more when she heard the word "dog": "Dog, daddy, dog."

"Okay, let's go get one after dad finds out where there is a good dog, okay?" Cao Shujie said.

"Yeah!" Mengmeng nodded her cute little head and smiled happily.

The two rabbits were not very plump, so Cao Shujie cooked them himself and stewed them in a pot with the ribs in the evening.

The remaining little gray rabbit was given a soap bath twice before being placed in a large cardboard box for Mengmeng to play with.

Don't tell me, Mengmeng is so courageous. She is not afraid at all. She holds the cardboard box with one hand, reaches in with the other hand and strokes the fur along the rabbit's back: "Hehe, little rabbit, good baby, sleep well."

"

She's quite smart.

But just touching the rabbit's fur was not enough. She also pointed at the little gray rabbit and shouted to her mother: "Mom, give me a hug!"

Cheng Xiaolin was really afraid that her daughter would not be healthy or serious. Besides, this was a hare, not a domesticated one. It would bite when it got angry, so she didn't dare to let her daughter hold it and play with it.

"Mengmeng, you can't do it now. Please pet the bunny more and hold it and play with it after you get familiar with her." Cheng Xiaolin patiently reasoned with her daughter.

Mengmeng didn't understand: "Why?"

Cheng Xiaolin saw that she couldn't understand what she was explaining to her daughter, so she just put it into practice.

He put his hand in and was about to pick up the little rabbit, but who knew that the little gray rabbit raised his head and bit Cheng Xiaolin's finger.

Fortunately, Cheng Xiaolin reacted quickly and quickly pulled her hand out, so she was not bitten.

But this scene still shocked Mengmeng who had been watching.

She quickly ran to her mother to see her mother's hands, shouting: "Ah yo yo!"

This is what Cheng Xiaolin taught her. Mengmeng is too young and can't express where she feels uncomfortable. When something makes her uncomfortable, she just points with her finger and says, "Ah, yo, yo."

Two days have passed by in a flash, and March is almost over, but the fluctuating temperatures are not friendly to children.

Mengmeng was like this, changing back and forth between thick clothes and thin clothes. In the end, she couldn't withstand the change in temperature difference and caught a cold.

She woke up this morning and couldn't stop coughing. Cheng Xiaolin hurriedly went to the medicine backup box to grab the cough medicine she had bought before and gave it to her.

Wang Yuelan found out that her granddaughter had a cold, and she felt very distressed.

Seeing that her granddaughter was a little depressed, she felt even more distressed: "Mengmeng, are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere else?"

"Grandma!" Mengmeng felt dizzy and pouted her little mouth, feeling particularly aggrieved.

"Hey, Mengmeng, tell grandma, what do you want to eat?" Wang Yuelan asked her.

But Mengmeng didn't want to eat at all now, so Cheng Xiaolin said to her mother-in-law: "Mom, make some millet porridge, make it thicker."

"Okay, I still have a bag of jujubes at home. They're so sweet. Do you want to put some more in there?" Wang Yuelan asked.

When Cheng Xiaolin heard this, she quickly said: "Mom, don't let it go. Sweet things are more likely to cause coughs."

"Okay, I'm going to cook millet porridge right now." Wang Yuelan went to work.

Cao Shujie was not at home. He got up early and went to the mountain to see the growth of the fruit trees.

It had been two days since the last time he sprayed the nutrient solution, and he wanted to see the effect.

In the mountains in the early morning, the temperature is even lower, but the air is very good. Taking a breath feels cool to the lungs and makes your whole body feel comfortable.

Cao Shujie looked at the trees one by one. He wanted to see what would happen to the fruit trees that were growing well and those that were malnourished after absorbing the nutrient solution.

Facts have proved that the principle of ‘the strong always becomes strong’ also applies to the plant world.

After absorbing the nutrient solution, the leaves of fruit trees that were originally growing well became visibly greener, giving them a pleasing and vibrant look.

And those who were malnourished are now as if they have drunk an aphrodisiac and are glowing with a second spring.

"Not bad, really good!" Cao Shujie was very satisfied.

Thinking that the little baby at home was coughing nonstop when he went to bed in the morning, he didn't stay much longer, came down from the mountain, and immediately walked towards home.

As soon as he arrived at the foot of the mountain, Cao Shujie heard a sound of "meow, meow". It sounded weak, as if he hadn't eaten in several days.

He followed the sound and saw a very familiar figure.

"Huh? Isn't this the little wild cat that used to be in the old yard?" Cao Shujie was puzzled.

He walked closer. Seeing the alert look on the little wild cat when he approached, Cao Shujie touched his nose and felt a little depressed.

"Why are you here?" Cao Shujie asked him stupidly.

As soon as the words came out, he was speechless to himself, and then said: "Did my house be demolished and rebuilt, and you have no place to go?"

"Meow!"

The little wild cat didn't know if he understood, and suddenly called out fiercely to Cao Shujie.

"Oh, you took over my yard, how can you still handle it?" Cao Shujie complained.

But the little wild cat was really not in high spirits. After it called twice, its energy seemed to be gone, and it lay on the ground listlessly.

If things were left in the past, Cao Shujie would definitely ignore it and even scare it away with a stone.

But looking at the little wild cat's lack of energy, Cao Shujie immediately thought of his daughter who had a cold and kept coughing when she went out in the morning.

They are all so pitiful!

"Little guy, do you have a parent? If not, come with me. Can you be my daughter's pet?" Cao Shujie said to him.

The little wild cat kept staring at Cao Shujie and meowed feebly.

Cao Shujie was overjoyed: "Did you agree?"

"Now, I'll take it as your promise. Come with me and find an ancestor for you." He couldn't help but say with joy.

He thought that his daughter liked cats and dogs so much. After seeing this little wild cat, her cold might be cured instantly.
