Chapter 173 Roll your eyes

Zhang Ling had no intention of telling Li Xiang what she learned from Lao Liu.

Based on Li Xiang’s strong resistance to Lao Liu.

She currently feels inappropriate.

Of course, another reason is that she increasingly feels that Li Xiang is a bit too mysterious.

So much so that the old patriarch spent so much time testing and investigating him.

Before, she had never thought about living under the same roof as Li Xiang.

So she follows the principle of mutual use.

You can tolerate his mystery to the maximum extent.

Now, she already has a plan to live together.

Then she will naturally never allow the person next to her to be someone who can't see through it.

So this old Liu is probably a bridge for her to understand Li Xiang deeply.

Li Xiang did not fall into missing her because of her mention of grandma. Instead, he glanced around with a bit of panic and vigilance.

When he confirmed that there were only three of them around, he breathed a sigh of relief.

He didn't say a word about her topic.

He just smiled at her with a bit of embarrassment.

He should feel that this is the safest reply.

She stroked the child's little head with one hand, pretending to be disappointed and sighed:

"Some people seem to have forgotten grandma. Xiaodouzi, you can't imitate certain people. After all, grandma taught you how to tie flowers and gave you related gifts. This kindness must be remembered."

While talking, she had been observing his every expression and move.

His face looked indifferent at first glance, but his deep eyes still revealed the sadness that was difficult to conceal.

The considerate little Douzi seems to have read Li Xiang's thoughts.

So I ignored what Zhang Ling just said.

This made her look into the distance at a loss.

There happened to be three white clouds floating under the blue sky.

Not far away, there are several large trees more than ten meters high, as if they have fallen on a piece of drawing paper. For a long time, you can't see the leaves swaying.

Suddenly a strange wind blew up, mixed with some fallen leaves, weeds, and dust, as if it deliberately created a whirlpool around them.

"Oops! The sand is blinding me. This evil wind is really abominable!"

Li Xiang raised a hand to cover his face and wiped his eyes. His originally dry cheeks were covered with tears like a flood.

The saying that a man should not shed tears easily has caused many men to swallow all their bitter tears.

Little did he know that Li Xiang had long been looking for an opportunity to release his longing for his grandma.

At this time, Xiaodouzi, who was put aside, stepped forward and grabbed Li Xiang's clothes and said:

"Dad, don't be afraid! Mom is the best at rolling her eyelids. Mom took care of the sand in Xiaodouzi's eyes."

While talking, the little girl looked at Zhang Ling worriedly and called "Mom".

She smiled with a hint of helplessness, and stepped forward to grab his wrist, obviously feeling that he was resisting and unwilling to take away the hand that was covering her eyes.

She said as if coaxing Xiaodouzi:

"Don't be afraid, just roll your eyelids and get the sand out. It won't hurt! Why are you nervous?"

"Mom, look, Xiaodouzi is the strongest!" Xiaodouzi said proudly, with a hint of disgust in his tone, "Dad is so weak! He doesn't even dare to roll his eyes."

Li Xiang was laughed at by a child.

His face felt as if sulfuric acid had been poured on it, and he felt so uncomfortable that he wanted to peel off the layer of skin.

The longing for my grandma has also faded a lot.

After adjusting her mentality, she smiled and explained stubbornly to Xiaodouzi:

"Who said that? I didn't need it. I rubbed the sand out of my eyes."

Xiaodouzi looked at Li Xiang like a child, leaning over and blinking constantly, as if to show off that his eyes were back to normal.

Xiaodouzi is still a child after all.

Looking at Li Xiang, he looked a little angry and pouted without saying a word.

Maybe even God would hate for Li Xiang to bully a child like this.

A gentle breeze blew in my face.

This time Li Xiang really had sand blown into his eyes.

After blinking, rubbing his eyes to shed tears, and other fierce operations, the sand in his eyes was not removed.

Li Xiang stomped his feet in discomfort.

I even felt like digging my eyes out.

Xiaodouzi wanted to say to Li again at this time:

"Dad, please stop struggling. Let mom help you."

Yes, when Li Xiang’s eyes actually got sand.

Xiaodouzi immediately smiled and asked Li Xiang to accept Zhang Ling's help.

But Li Xiang felt that by doing so, he was undoubtedly admitting that he had cheated by getting sand in his eyes;

On the other hand, he failed to keep his word and felt that as an adult, he had lost face in front of Xiaodouzi.

Maybe it’s because of Xiaodouzi’s smile when she talks.

That's why Li Xiang had this desire to save face and suffer.

At this moment, Li Xiang heard Xiaodouzi's persuasion again, and he already lost the backbone he had at the beginning.

Following Xiaodouzi's wishes, he lowered his posture and called "Ling'er" first.

Zhang Ling was ruthlessly rejected by him because of her good intentions at the beginning.

She turned her head away unhappily and pretended she didn't hear it.

Li Xiang looked helplessly to Xiaodouzi for help.

The clever little guy is a bit like a monk who has seen through the world of mortals and said:

"Buddha said that all roots have cause and effect, and those who do good have good karma. Dad, Xiaodouzi can't do anything about this. You can figure it out yourself."

Although I don’t know where the little guy learned this sentence.

However, there is no sense of violation when used at this time.

He said to himself with some emotion:

"Why were you so stubborn in rejecting Zhang Ling's kindness in the first place? It's true that evildoers have their destiny! I deserve to suffer."

Maybe seeing Li Xiang crying in pain touched Zhang Ling's soft heart;

Maybe Zhang Ling never really wanted to ignore it.

So she finally took action.

He pushed Li Xiang against the wall, and there was a classic wall bang, which made Li Xiang feel a little nervous and hold his breath.

Before Zhang Ling started to roll her eyelids, his eyes instantly became less uncomfortable.

When she learned that grains of sand were on her eyelids, Zhang Ling said with a bit of joking:

"Tell me, you are a big man, but why are your eyes so small? Sand is worthless. Why do you still hide it under your eyelids? Alas..."

Li Xiang answered with a smile and tears:

"Why? No, a man who has a family suddenly feels that his responsibility is not light. Even if the grain of sand is not valuable, it is still money. What's more, I can get a chance to get in close contact with you. Why wouldn't I?

Why?"

Obviously, his answer made Zhang Ling feel happy.

She raised her hand and patted his forehead, causing his head to rise slightly.

Then he took off a small black hairpin from Xiaodouzi's head, gently pressed the sleek end on his upper eyelids, and said:

"Where are you looking? Look down as hard as you can, don't look at my face."

The hairpin was rotated with the other hand on the upper eyelid, and his upper eyelid was successfully turned up.

When she clearly saw the location of the sand, she leaned forward and skillfully licked the sand off her eyelids with the tip of her tongue.

That moment!

His eyes are like a SPA.

My eyes, which were originally dry and uncomfortable, instantly became hydrated and translucent as if they had drunk enough water.

Maybe this water is rich in exciting and pleasant factors.

Starting from the upper eyelids, it quickly spreads throughout the body like an electric shock.

An unbearable heat quickly fermented from the pit of his heart, his heartbeat was moving rapidly like a high-power engine, and the hot blood gushing out made his brain feel happy and dizzy.

Xiaodouzi on the side seemed to have guessed what the restless Li wanted to do?

The moment she saw his lips touching hers, Xiaodouzi made a sound of "yaa" and quickly held her eyes with both hands.

Then he peeked out from between his fingers and said:

"I didn't see it, I didn't see it, mom and dad, keep going! Xiaodouzi definitely didn't see it."

The little girl probably didn’t want them to continue at all.

As soon as he opened his mouth, he saw that Li Xiang was immediately pushed away by Zhang Ling, and then turned away with a blushing face and called out "Little Douzi".

It felt a bit like complaining about Xiaodouzi's talk.

Li Xiang walked up to Xiaodouzi generously, leaned over and stretched out a finger, put it between Xiaodouzi's peeking fingers, and said with a helpless smile:

"You kid! Do you mean you didn't see it?"

The little girl put down her hands and looked at Li Xiang, showing her white teeth.

Just a moment.

The three of them returned to the room and sat around the table without saying a word for a while.

At the end of the festival, Li Xiang gave a "blessing meat" and caused the incident of Xiaodouzi's disappearance.

Someone just informed Li that he wanted to host today's evening ceremony.

He was really worried about the safety of Zhang Ling and her daughter.

Zhang Ling even fell into deep self-blame because of her previous negligence.

What to do?

Li Xiang was the first to speak:

"Ling'er, why don't I take you home."

"Go home?" Zhang Ling snorted, stroking Xiaodouzi's cheek with one hand and continued, "Do you think it will be safe to send us away from the ancestral hall? Impossible."

"I know what you mean." Li Xiang also looked at Xiaodouzi with worried eyes and said, "We adults may be able to take precautions. The most disgusting thing is that they have already attacked innocent children. I...suddenly found that I am really incompetent!"<

/p>

Xiaodouzi saw Li Xiang helplessly punch his thigh with his fist.

It really hurts to watch this time!

But Xiaodouzi couldn't see any painful reaction on Li Xiang's face.

She seems to understand her parents' concerns.

I saw her grabbing Zhang Ling's left hand with one hand and Li Xiang's right hand with the other, and then using her as a medium to hold the four hands together tightly.

There was a solemn expression on her little face, as if she had made a huge decision.

Then he looked at his parents' hands firmly and said:

"Don't worry! It's okay. As long as mom and dad are always with Xiaodouzi, Xiaodouzi will not be afraid of any difficulties or dangers."

Then she smiled happily and confidently and said:

"So before mom and dad, I would like to ask when can we have dinner? I didn't even eat a few bites of the fatty pork and beans at lunch, but I'm so hungry now!"

Zhang Ling and Zhang Ling looked at each other and smiled after hearing Xiaodouzi's expression.

It was as if all the previous worries were swept away in an instant.

Xiangtang District.

Evening Festival.

Folks may call it "evening sacrifice", "carrying (avoiding) lantern sacrifice" or "eating meat with lanterns on your back".

It will be held in the evening on the day of the festival, after the stars have appeared.

The Back Lamp Festival is a recollection and reappearance of our ancestors’ distant life in the Starlight Ancient Cave.

The person being worshiped is the Western Wall Shrine.

Therefore, the offerings on the table are placed in front of the altar on the west wall.

The rituals of setting up offerings, offering incense, offering wine, receiving animals, carrying objects, and furnishings are not much different from those of court sacrifices, except that the number of offerings (incense dishes, wine, cakes, and cakes) may be slightly different.

The Back Lamp Festival is a recollection and reappearance of our ancestors’ distant life in the Starlight Ancient Cave.

Judging from its sacrificial rituals and some preserved sacrificial texts, it should be based on the Changbai Mountain gods believed in during the Manchu tribal system.

The many gods worshiped by the Li family are the star gods and guardian gods of the night in the universe.

Such as "Six Stars of the South Dipper", "Six Stars of the East Dipper", "Three Stars of the West Dipper", "Prince Star", "Three Stars", "Seven Stars of the Big Dipper", etc.

In the old days, most of the sacrifices to the gods on the Mid-Autumn Festival included "Wanli Mother".

One of the reasons is the obvious difference between the evening festival and the morning festival.

When offering wine and meat to the gods after the decoration, the door must be closed, the incense and stove fire in the room should be extinguished or blocked, and moved out. The principle is to make sure that there is no light or lighting in the room.

Another reason is that according to folklore, the "Wanli Mother" who saved Nurhaci as a sacrifice.

Because she was naked when she was about to die, she would be embarrassed if there was any light in the room, so she had to carry a lamp.

However, according to researchers in recent years, the back-light festival originated from the early Manchu custom of "star sacrifice". Because there is light in the room, it is difficult to see the stars outside clearly, so the lights must be turned off to stop the fire.

Therefore, Li family sacrifices will naturally abide by the above customs.

Firecrackers were set off as usual, two altar tables were placed in the middle of the courtyard, all the lights were turned off, the whole family knelt behind the altar table, and the shaman recited the lantern offering ceremony.

The shaman must recite sacrificial incantations, dance to the gods, and sacrifice meat and wine. The symbolic ceremony must be completed three times.

Guotou led the pig with a backlight to a table and pressed it on the table. He slaughtered it in the dark, peeled off the skin, cut it into eight pieces and placed it on the altar table.

Four people held hooks from branches to hook the four corners of the pig skin and roasted it on the bonfire in the courtyard.

After roasting, it is soaked in clean water and scraped, cooked in a pot supported by three stones in the courtyard, and grilled on the fire along with the meat skewers skewered with an iron drill.

The whole family eats pigs with lanterns on their backs. The shaman hangs a waist bell on the door of the outer house, beats the drum and sings the sacred song of lanterns on the lanterns, and circles the pigs on the lanterns three times.

The tribesmen barbecued, danced around the bonfire, performed Yangko, and were happy until the east turned white.

From dawn to late at night, rituals, songs and dances are connected, which is the climax of the sacrifice.

Then the lights are opened, the door is opened, the sacrificial meat is eaten, the sacrificial utensils are returned, and other rituals are all the same as yesterday's pilgrimage.

The family of three finally had the opportunity to return to the room.

As the leader of the sacrifice, Li Xiang was the most exhausted. Xiaodouzi, who had been playing crazy all night, fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

Although Zhang Ling is also very sleepy!

But she remembered the note someone gave her during the evening festival.

Ask her to meet alone at the pavilion next to the lotus pond.

The note was unsigned, so she took it for granted that it was Lao Liu.

I feel that Lao Liu did not explain the matter clearly yesterday.

So I asked her out again today.

Zhang Ling also set off to the lotus pond without much thought.

From a distance, I saw that there were indeed people sitting and waiting in the pavilion.

It wasn't until she walked in that she saw clearly that the man in the pavilion was not Lao Liu.

Just as Zhang Ling was about to turn around and leave, the man suddenly turned around and said:

"Zhang Ling, everyone is already here, why are you leaving again? Come, sit down and talk to me for a while, okay?"

"No!" Zhang Ling turned her back to the man and did not look back, "You are the person I least want to see now. Master Qi, don't you have this kind of self-awareness?"

"I know." Qi Diaozhe said with a wry smile and lowered his head slightly, then suddenly raised his head and said in a pleading tone, "Wait a minute, I will leave tomorrow. I don't know when I will see you again next time."
Zhang Ling was about to move away decisively, but heard that Qi Diaozhe was leaving.

Somehow, a bitter taste came out of her heart.

Qi Diaozhe saw her stop again, and then continued to try to persuade her:

"That's why I asked Li Pan to help arrange this meeting. Zhang Ling, finally, for the sake of our former classmates, could you please sit down with me and have a cup of tea?"
