Chapter 187 The Ceremony Ends

The clever little Douzi knows what ordinary parents expect from their children.

Because Ah Shuang often mentioned her parents' nagging in front of her.

Nagging how dissatisfied Ah Shuang's performance is.

He kept forcing Ah Shuang to become his parents’ greatest pride.

Xiaodouzi just expressed A Shuang's distress in a metamorphoses way.

Unexpectedly, a satisfied smile appeared on Zhang Ling's face.

Just when Xiaodouzi was praising that all parents in the world are the same.

Zhang Ling pinched her face lightly and asked:

"Silly boy, do you know what you should do to be the greatest pride of your parents?"

Xiaodouzi touched her earlobe habitually and said:

"Study well!"

This answer is the standard answer instilled by all teachers in the school.

The teachers in the school took this standard answer to the extreme.

As long as students study well, no matter how bad their behavior is, they can be forgiven and even appreciated by the teacher.

If a student does not study well, even an unintentional move will make the teacher furious and ask you to invite the parents over at any time and educate them together.

Unfortunately, Ah Shuang is the one who is often asked to invite parents.

Zhang Ling said with a slight smile:

"Studying well can indeed make you proud in the eyes of your parents. But it is not the only way to become proud of your parents."

"What do you mean?" Xiaodouzi asked.

Xiaodouzi who thinks the answer is the standard answer.

Unexpectedly, I didn’t get full marks from Zhang Ling.

So she looked at Zhang Ling with curiosity.

Zhang Ling stroked Xiaodouzi's face with her loving hand and said:

"I know, kid, you want to get more love when you say this. But you should know that if you want to get love, you must first learn to love yourself and know how to maintain your own image at all times."

Xiaodouzi's thoughts were directly expressed by Zhang Ling.

So I called "Mom" a little embarrassed.

Zhang Ling said:

"Son, since you want to be the pride of your parents, you must learn to discover your own shining points before you can show them to your parents."

Xiaodouzi agreed with a vague "Oh".

Li Xiang on the side also looked at her seriously.

She smiled at Li Xiang and nodded, then said to Xiaodouzi:

"You must know that for parents, there are many things to be proud of from your children. It is not just about studying hard for success and fame. Of course, it is not limited to other people's children as adults say."

When Xiaodouzi heard this, he instantly felt that he was much happier than Ashuang.

Because Ah Shuang's parents let Ah Shuang live in the shadow of other people's children every day.

So with a happy smile, she called Zhang Ling "Mom" again.

Zhang Ling smiled and nodded and continued:

"Mom just hopes that you, my child, will live healthily and be able to be more self-reliant in the future. But if I want to say that I am proud of you, there are a lot of things to say. For example, Xiaodouzi, you can fall down and get up without crying. You have your own persistence.

I have achieved my goals, I know how to care about my parents, etc.”

Xiaodouzi looked at Zhang Ling in disbelief and asked:

"Mom, is this true?"

What Zhang Ling said is not too simple for Xiaodouzi.

I feel like I can make Zhang Ling’s mother live with infinite pride every minute.

When she saw Zhang Ling, she smiled and nodded at her and said:

"Child, please don't entrust all your emotions and efforts to studying. Learning is very important, but experiencing life is more important. Just study with a clear conscience. Mom only needs to know that this is your best effort. Naturally

I will also feel proud.”

Xiaodouzi shouted excitedly:

"Mom, you are truly the best mother in the world!"

Because Zhang Ling liberated her nature.

Xiaodouzi is much happier than her classmates like A Shuang.

Just because there is always a saying that inspires countless parents not to let their children lose at the starting line.

Therefore, many parents try their best to let their children put all their emotions and efforts into learning.

As everyone knows, many times it is not the children who lose at the starting line.

Instead, there is someone standing at the finish line shouting for you to run.

Of course, they at the finish line here are not just students in the simple sense.

There is also the capital that you and I have always ignored.

So for the children at the starting line, it is a joy to them at the finishing line.

Zhang Ling reached out and touched Xiaodouzi's little face, showing a somewhat proud smile and said:

"Anyway, as long as you know that Xiaodouzi is your mother's daughter. Every time you grow up in your life, your mother will easily feel proud. There is no way, my mother likes Xiaodouzi, and her pride will be very low in many cases."

Li Xiang heard it from the side.

Zhang Ling regarded Xiaodouzi as her own.

Xiaodouzi in his arms stretched out his hand to hug Zhang Ling.

So he took two steps forward. The moment Xiaodouzi hugged Zhang Ling, Li Xiang clearly felt her two hands on his shoulders.

The hearts of the three of them are so close again.

So close that you can hear each other's heartbeats beating together.

This seems to symbolize that they are a real family.

The birds in the distance chirped cheerfully at the same time.

It's more like sending blessings to their happy family.

The next morning.

Li Xiang is like an expert who specializes in studying national culture.

I learned yesterday that Zhang Ling will be asked to preside over the rope-changing ceremony.

He has been spreading some knowledge about rope changing to Zhang Ling.

This is also to prevent Zhang Ling from being confused and confused during the rope-changing ceremony.

When it comes to "changing ropes", as the name suggests, it means replacing the old ropes worn on the body with new ones.

In Manchu shamanism rituals, there is an ancestor goddess called "Mama Fotuo" and "Grandma Willow Branch".

On ordinary days, its shrine is a one-foot-long yellow cloth bag hung on the Sauron pole on the north side of the ancestral box on the west wall, commonly known as the "descendants' bag" or "mother's bag".

Before the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the Manchu people did not compile genealogies, and each ethnic group used ropes to record their population and reproduction, so the ropes were called wordless genealogies.

The small bow and arrow hanging on it represents a boy, and the brown bell represents a girl.

In the past, the rope had to be replaced every year, and the thread had to be obtained from Jiujia. There were three colors: white, green, and blue, and they were twisted into a rope.

This chapter is not over yet, please click on the next page to continue reading! Put it around the child's neck and make a cross knot. Do not fasten it. The lock rope is just a rope. It is only worn during sacrifices and usually placed in the rope pocket.

The rope bag is sewn with 1 foot of yellow cloth. The upper part can be retracted by putting a rope on it. There is a long rope inside, about ten meters long.

The lock is a thick rope made of colorful threads, with five-color cloth strips sandwiched along the seam. One end of the rope is hung on a nail in the corner, and it is tied to the branch of a willow branch on the left side outside the door. Below is the yellow rice flour dumpling and cooked small fish.

Each has a bowl and bows down to it, which is a zipper.

Replacing the old colored threads on the necks of boys and girls with new colored threads is a lock replacement.

In addition, according to custom, when a girl gets married, she must take off her rope from the rope, which is called "picking the rope".

The Li family's original rope was hung with small bows and arrows and clang bells. Due to the passage of time, it could no longer be shaken off, and the cloth on the rope pocket had also turned black.

The suo bag was always kept in the home of Mukunda (the clan leader) in the early Qing Dynasty.

When a certain family in the clan gives birth to a child, it must be reported to the clan leader and marked on a rope. The rope records the number of people in the family.

Li Xiang will ask every time he talks about the above common sense:

"Ling'er, are there any details you don't understand about what I'm talking about? Just say it if you don't understand. I can explain it to you in detail again."

Xiaodouzi on the side could hear calluses in his ears, and said with a somewhat innocent tone:

"Dad, don't worry! If mom forgets during the ceremony, Xiaodouzi will definitely remind her."

Zhang Ling showed a bit of doting, touching Xiaodouzi's head and said:

"Okay, okay, our little Douzi is the smartest."

But Li Xiang poured a basin of cold water on his head and said:

"Hmm, our little Douzi is amazing! I've told you many times, my dear, you must get a Brown Dang when the time comes. But you have a special liking for small bows and arrows, and you always keep talking about it."

Li wanted to finish and let out a long sigh.

Xiaodouzi grabbed Li Xiang's arm and shook it, explaining:

"Dad, I understand, I understand! I just want to know if I can play with a small bow and arrow? Please tell me quickly."

Li Xiang is helpless!

Unexpectedly, Xiaodouzi was still most interested in small bows and arrows like a boy.

So I could only tell Zhang Ling again and again to look at Xiaodouzi a few more times.

Enjoy the church area.

Place an offering table in the courtyard.

With the help of Li Xiang, Zhang Ling cut down the small willow tree (no other miscellaneous trees were allowed) that she had favored yesterday and brought it back.

Before the ceremony begins, it is planted in the southeast direction of the courtyard, and red, yellow, blue and white paper strips and water dumplings are hung on it.

(Note: This willow tree is commonly known as the "sacred tree" or "empress tree" etc.).

The shaman removes the rope bag from under the ancestor board, opens the drawstring, takes out the descendant rope, and fixes one end of the rope to the handstand at the north end of the ancestor board on the west wall of the room (or tie it to the place where the descendant bag is hung);

The other end is pulled along the posterity pole (shed pole, pole of the carriage) to the willow branch in the courtyard, and then the newly prepared "suspense rope" is used.

Twist it with five colored threads from the nine families of good fortune and longevity, hang it on the branches, and place it on the table in front of the altar on the west wall, with cakes, incense dishes, wine, etc.

The number of cakes used is usually nine, or each plate contains nine cakes, commonly known as "jiuluo cakes".

Or nine per plate, nine plates in total.

Then tie the sacrificial pig and place it next to the sacred tree.

(Note: If economic conditions are limited, many families use poultry or carp as offerings.)

The chief priest Zhang Ling led everyone to kowtow incense and pray to the altar on the west wall.

The indoor offering table is carried to the outdoor sacred tree and the sacrificial utensils are rearranged. After kowtows, the sacrifices are collected and sacrificed. The ceremony is similar to that of the court sacrifice.

After the meat is cooked, it is still decorated with ornaments and offered as a salute, which is similar to the ritual sacrifice.

If chicken, fish, etc. are used as offerings, they can be steamed (boiled) and placed on a plate for the offering.

When offering sacrifices and kowtowing, Zhang Ling leads the children who should change their ropes to perform three kowtows, and sometimes all the worshipers participate.

The offering ceremony was completed.

The shaman gathered around the altar table and willow branches and sang the sacred song of exchange.

The men and women of the tribe held small bows and arrows representing boys and brown bangles representing girls. Under the shaman's singing and dancing, they hung the tokens on the ropes to pray for blessings and blessings.

Those who need to change their ropes (usually children under the age of fifteen) go to the offering table and kowtow to the sacred tree.

Zhang Ling dipped willow branches in pure water and sprinkled them all over, and tied each of their necks with colorful threads.

Then, the old rope used in the previous sacrifice is removed from the descendants' rope (it will be burned together after the ceremony), and then the new rope hung on the branch is taken and put around the neck, and then bows and withdraws.

After wearing them all, share the food with the "Jiu Luo Cake" offered.

Some people boil (steam) the cakes and put them on the branches of sacred branches, so that children can eat them, which is commonly known as "grabbing blessings".

The children in the tribe compete for water dumplings to eat for good luck.

If a pig is used as a sacrifice, the sacrificial meat can be divided into portions at this time, and the ceremony is similar to that of a ceremonial sacrifice.

The ceremony usually ends at noon.

The new rope should be taken off three days later or after the sacrifice and tied to the rope.

If it is for the daughter's marriage, the son-in-law's family will provide the sacrifices such as picking ropes and sacrificing pigs.

And only take off the old rope without replacing it with a new one.

However, most of the sacrifices are held separately.

The shaman put the rope back into his rope bag and still hung it under the ancestral board.

After dinner, the clergy began to clean the house, sweep the yard, and send the pig bones and other debris eaten during the ceremony a hundred steps south to throw away. When they returned, they were not allowed to enter the shrine again. The shaman knelt outside the courtyard gate.

You can leave after three heads.

That’s it!

The Li family's sacrificial activities have ended.

However, Xiaodouzi did have an accident during this rope change process.

She actually picked up the correct brown bell.

He and the handsome girl covered each other and stole the small bow and arrow on the rope.

At that time, Zhang Ling just thought that the two children fell down accidentally.

Unexpectedly, when I picked up Xiaodouzi from school the next day, I would see Xiaodouzi’s good friend A Shuang holding a familiar little bow and arrow in his hand.

Zhang Ling pointed at the small bow and arrow with a serious face and said:

"Xiaodouzi, should you give your mother an explanation?"

The clever little Douzi introduced deliberately:

"Mom, don't you recognize me? This is Xiaodouzi's best friend, A Shuang. A Shuang, don't be stunned, say hello to my mother quickly."

Ah Shuang bowed very obediently and cooperated:

This chapter is not over yet, please click on the next page to continue reading! "Hello, Auntie! I am A Shuang. I heard Xiaodouzi say that she is going to live in a new home today. A Shuang just wanted to ask, can I go and visit together?

"

Listening to the words of the clever Ashuang, Zhang Ling could only put off Xiaodouzi's matter for the time being, and then replied with a gentle smile:

"Since you are all good friends, as long as Ashuang's parents agree, I will naturally welcome you, Auntie."

So Xiaodouzi took Ah Shuang's hand and jumped up happily.

He kept praising Zhang Ling's mother.

The little guy's purpose is simple!

Naturally, she wanted Zhang Ling to ignore the fact that she took out the small bow and arrow from the ancestral hall.

now!

Li Xiang came to Zhang Ling and said with some apology:

"Ling'er, I'm here. Sorry, I've already rushed here in advance, but there's still a bit of traffic on the road."

Zhang Ling replied with a slight smile:

"It's okay, I just got here too."

Li Xiang smiled again and looked at the two little girls jumping around and asked:

"I seem to have missed something happy? Look how happy they are."

A Shuang, who was the first to notice Li Xiang's arrival, alerted Xiaodouzi.

Xiaodouzi happened to see the small bow and arrow in Ashuang's hand.

Some were afraid of being seen by Li Xiang, and wanted to reach out to snatch it, and temporarily hid it in a place where it was not suitable to be discovered.

But maybe Ah Shuang likes small bows and arrows too much.

She mistakenly thought that Xiaodouzi wanted to take back the small bow and arrow given to her.

While tugging at Xiaodouzi, he accidentally dropped the small bow and arrow at Li Xiang's feet.

When Li Xiang saw the small bow and arrow, he immediately stopped smiling, then leaned over to pick it up with a serious face and said:

"Xiaodouzi, what's going on? You must give me a reasonable explanation today."

You must know that before leaving the ancestral hall, Li Xiang said to Xiaodouzi again and again.

Only take things that belong to them and leave, and definitely take things that belong to the ancestral hall.

Xiaodouzi, on the other hand, had vowed to fully abide by Li Xiang's words.
