Chapter 3 Section 3. Morning Tavern

Annan is the third employee of Dawn Tavern.

Apart from the bosses Fast and Martin, Evelin is the oldest employee in the tavern. According to Martin, Evelin was here when he arrived. She is a young girl with freckles on her cheeks who is similar in age to Annan. She is responsible for staying at the hotel.

Counter and wine delivery.

Martin was always prone to messing up everything, so he was only responsible for clearing the table after the guests left and stealing the leftover food. Annan reminded him not to do this in front of Mr. Fast, but he still protected him.

The new Annan does the same job as Evelin - only responsible for serving drinks. But usually he and Martin clear the wine table. The guests prefer the only girl in the pub to Annan.

Mr. Fast would occasionally help them share the work when they were busy. Most of the time, he would hold his rapier and hug his shoulders, leaning against the counter like a thug. He squinted slightly and listened to the movements and chants in the tavern.

The poet's old story.

There are not many customers in the pub, and during the busiest and noisiest night time, it can only be half full at most.

In the final analysis, Pinglin Town is just a remote border town with a population of two to three thousand people on the edge of the forest. The poor cannot afford to drink beer that costs several copper coins, and the rich disdain these places where rude people gather. There are only drunkards and inquirers.

Adventurers will sit here for hours.

There is also a bard.

Annan liked him very much, not only because he could learn vocabulary from his never-ending mouth, but also because of the magnificent and fantastic stories. Although in most cases, he could not understand the cadence of pronunciation and complex modifiers.

There are also stories about him with a meaty taste and all kinds of slang and swear words.

It is true that learning a language often starts with swear words.

"...Then, the warlock 'solved' this sexy female lizard man in the woods." Along with the low laughter of the drinkers, Annan learned about polysemy again.

The bard said that Mr. Faster was a warrior with an elite professional level and should not appear in a small place like Pinglin Town. He also tested his past countless times, but failed.

Annan has not seen Mr. Fast take action yet. Many people in the town know from the bard that he is a "professional warrior with an elite level", so no thief is stupid enough to let him take action.

In fact, Mr. Fast is a very friendly person, not so strict, and sometimes makes jokes between men. However, the effect is mediocre, and most of the time he only gets a blank look from Evelin - Annan can't understand it, and Martin can't understand it.

Understand.

In his spare time, Annan was similar to Mr. Fast, listening to the bard's stories and rolling his eyes over the guests who had the characteristics of adventurers.

Unfortunately, no elves or mages visit the tavern. As for races like orcs or dwarves...even if humans are not so xenophobic, they are unlikely to come to the remote town of Pinglin.

As the bard's story unfolds, a fantasy and treacherous world of swords and magic, gods and dragons, evil gods and pollution, demons and abyss unfolds before your eyes.

Occasionally, Annan felt that the world was not so safe. For example, the rat tide flooded a certain southern city, the cultists sacrificed a certain coastal town, the greenskins occupied a certain country, and the demonic tide captured a certain pass.

"Annan."

Mr. Fast's call woke Annan up from the story. He pushed a glass of juice to Annan and pointed to the dark corner of the pub: "Give this glass of wine to the lady in the corner."

Annan looked at the figure sitting alone in the dark: "Mr. Fast, my lingua franca is not very good..."

This sentence is even the most fluent thing he said.

"It doesn't matter, you can solve most problems by just saying 'yes'." Mr. Fast patted Annan on the shoulder encouragingly.

Annan took the wine glass and followed the instructions to the wine table.

She was a beautiful lady with a high nose and three-dimensional facial features. She was wearing a rose-red floral dress, with wavy, fluffy hair. Her white arms on her chest and her calves under her skirt shone with a hazy sheen.

A temperament that is incompatible with this run-down tavern.

When Annan put down his wine glass and was about to leave, the lady suddenly asked: "I've never seen you before."

"Yes."

"You're not from here?"

"Yes."

Annan thought she talked too much, and the lady thought he was a little boring: "Don't you know what to say other than this?"

"Yes."

The originally uninterested lady looked at Annan with great interest, swept through the black hair, and paused on the unnaturally gray face: "Boy, haven't you experienced the pleasure of a man yet?"

Annan subconsciously felt that something was wrong and looked back at the counter.

Mr. Fast looked here encouragingly and nodded.

"Yes……"

"So are you interested in 'solving' me?"

"yes……?"

After understanding this sentence, Annan realized that he was being teased and returned to the counter a little shyly.

Evelin glanced at the boss who was watching the theater, but Mr. Fast didn't care and picked up the wine glass to signal to the lady who seemed to be familiar with her.

"Why can you chat with the female guests for so long? When I go over, they will just tell me to get lost..." Martin complained and came closer.

"Why do you think Mr. Fast hired me?" Annan replied.

Martin's expression became very strange at this time, well...it was definitely not what he thought. But Annan's common language was not enough to support his complicated explanation.

Nearing the end of the night, the wine lady had left, and the guests now needed to enjoy the quiet. Fast made a gesture to the bard. The latter ended the story he was telling and played the lute in his arms.

Mr. Fast returned to the back to rest, and Martin, who replaced him, came to the wooden pillar, standing guard with one eye and sentry with the other, staring at every corner of the tavern.

"How did you do it?"

Annan looked at the wise Martin with his left eye looking to the left and his right eye looking to the right in amazement.

"Why do you think Mr. Fast hired me?"

At midnight, the last two guests in the tavern supported each other and staggered away. Evelin turned over the sign on the tavern door to "closed".

The first day at work was pretty good, and I was even lucky enough to get an untouched pumpkin pie.

Back at Aunt Susan's house, the lights in Aunt Susan and Uncle Hollin's bedroom were turned off after they returned.

Martin climbed into bed. Soon he started snoring.

Annan took off his coat and placed it beside the bed. With his longing for the magical world, he fell asleep contentedly and contentedly.

He dreamed of a vast expanse of nothingness, with four light spots spreading a halo floating in front of his eyes.

The green halo spreads life and kindness; the purple halo releases hot emotions and joy; the red halo exudes bravery and tenacity; and the blue halo exudes wisdom and integrity.

Four balls of light surrounded Annan, spreading beauty. But a pure black halo suddenly appeared, dispelling the four balls of light, and suddenly emitted a golden light - Annan woke up due to the sunlight hitting his cheeks.
