Chapter 66 Veela agrees to help

As night falls, a restaurant in Saint-Etienne is full of guests, and waiters shuttle between tables.

Almost every table of guests has today’s trophies beside them, ranging from palm-sized boxes to broomsticks as tall as a person.

Under the bright candlelight, Charles tasted Lyon's local rose sausage. This kind of sausage has an even proportion of fat and thin. When cut into round slices, the red and white look like a rose.

Gabrielle was also sitting at the dining table, eating cheese and chatting with him about Hogwarts.

The main course is here, four grilled quails.

The quails in this shop are stuffed with stuffing made of mashed potatoes, foie gras and chopped mushrooms, then wrapped in pork skin with spice leaves and roasted in the oven. The pig skin not only provides a unique flavor

, it also locks in the moisture of the quail, and the taste and texture are good.

Opposite Charles, Gabrielle's grandmother Angelina distributed the quails served by the waiter to the two children. She and Gabrielle each had one, and Charles got two.

Angelina, like Gabrielle, has silver hair and blue eyes. She looks a little younger than Penny, with a healthy and rosy complexion. Her dark blue eyes are like a deep ocean, as if they can see through people's hearts.
Further away, Jack held up a wooden board with the words: Go home by yourself, I went back first!

After Jack confirmed that Charles had seen him, he slipped away without any hesitation.

At the dining table, the three of them chatted about family affairs and interesting things around them. Angelina stopped asking questions after asking how many members of Charles' family did they do for a living and whether they had flying broomsticks. She left the scene to the two of them.

children.

The dinner ended with Charles finishing his story about "Harry Potter Punches the Dark Lord." He was just about to say goodbye to Gabrielle and Angelina on the street before riding his broomstick back to England when Angelina said to him: "

I’ll send Gabrielle back first. You stay here and don’t move around.”

Charles quickly said: "I don't dare to bother Madam anymore."

Angelina pointed to her head and said to him: "You have something wrong here."

Charles looked at her in surprise, waiting for further explanation.

Angelina just smiled and transformed directly into her Veela form on the street. Her scaly wings stretched out from her back, and her head turned into the shape of a bird. She picked up Gabrielle and flew away.

No one on the street seemed to have seen this scene. Only when Angelina started to flap her wings, the people next to her complained that someone was blowing off her hat with the wind as a prank.

The Delacour family seemed not far from here. Angelina came back half an hour later, changed back to her human form, and took Charles out of the village and walked to the nearby mountains.

This is the hometown of Angelina's husband. The restaurant where we just ate was rented from their house. Now that Angelina's husband has passed away, she lives alone in the mountains, and her children come to visit from time to time.

Charles thought that the place where she lived would look magical like the legendary Weasley family, but he didn't expect that it was a three-story building in the eighteenth-century French Rococo architectural style, with bright colors and patterns used in the interior decoration.

Gorgeous and exquisite.

Outside the small building is a garden, with a white pavilion in the middle.

There are several oil paintings hanging on the wall in the living room, including the French favorite "Joan of Arc Entering London".

There is also a huge ordinary oil painting on the wall, which shows the back of a Veela. There are many portraits and photos of Angelina, her husband and the Delacour family on the shelves below.

As the owner snapped his fingers, the tea set automatically brewed a pot of tea. Charles didn't expect it to be green tea, but with some mint added to it.

Angelina sat on a stool without a backrest and said with a kind smile: "Are you worried that I will stew you?"

"Hmm... olive oil, green onions, large carrots, tomatoes, beef stock, bay leaves, thyme, black pepper, small onions, mushrooms, butter, small potatoes and peas, and of course, a whole bottle of Burgundy red wine.

As she spoke, she no longer suppressed her Veela's ability to charm, and was using her most beautiful appearance to say the cruelest words.

Charles was just in a daze for a moment and came back to his senses earlier than when they met in the bookstore.

He answered with a distressed look: "I'm sorry, my meat is not chewy."

Angelina raised her tea cup and took a sip of tea before saying: "There are always some accidents and surprises in life that will not be dull, right?"

Charles smiled and replied: "What I just said was not a surprise, but a shock."

After joking, Angelina asked him: "Can you accept me turning back into a Veela?"

Charles immediately replied: "It doesn't matter, please do it yourself."

Angelina quickly transformed back into her Veela form, and her originally dark blue eyes became darker, making Charles feel as if she had completely seen through him.

Her voice also became sharper: "We Veela have some unique abilities. For example, the children and I can sense whether the other party is malicious."

"I am also proficient in some soul magic, and I can feel some conditions of a person's soul."

When Charles heard this, he asked thoughtfully: "You mean, you feel that there is something wrong with my soul?"

Angelina nodded seriously.

Charles asked again: "Will you die soon?"

Angelina said: "Don't worry about this. Although your soul is broken into many pieces due to some kind of damage, the largest piece is very strong and will not affect your life span."

Charles breathed a sigh of relief, drank some tea to calm down, and then said: "That's good, since the problem is not big, just ignore it."

He was open-minded, but Angelina still said: "I can help you with some treatment, but I am not strong enough and need to use Nico Flamel's magic stone. But he and his wife need the magic stone."

I’m afraid I won’t lend it to you if I live on.”

Angelina thinks this little guy looks good and is her granddaughter’s friend, so she will help him.

Charles thought about it. It seemed that many people didn't know that the Philosopher's Stone was in Dumbledore's hands. However, the Philosopher's Stone was about to be destroyed. It shouldn't be a problem if he asked to solve his own problem.

But he suddenly remembered other people, so he asked: "Madam, there are two people who were tortured by Death Eaters with the Cruciatus Curse 10 years ago and now have severe amnesia...or to put it offensively, they have become fools. Madam,

Can you cure them?"

He thought of the Longbottoms. Since he couldn't die anyway, the worst he could do was ask the old man to ask Nico Flamel how to make the magic stone.

Angelina looked at this boy in surprise. She didn't expect that he was not worried about herself but thought about other people. He seemed to be a kind-hearted young man.

She thought for a while and said: "If someone is hurt by the Cruciatus Curse, people will close their hearts when they are in great pain, or cracks will appear in their souls, which will cause people to lose their memory or become dementia."

"It's no problem, I can cure it."

Then Angelina deliberately said to Charles: "But the power of the Sorcerer's Stone is not unlimited. If you save them, the power of the Sorcerer's Stone will be consumed a lot, and there will be no way to treat you."

This kind of one-or-nothing question involving self-interest can best understand a person.

A faint smile appeared on Charles's face, he shook his head and said: "It doesn't matter, I can still be alive and kicking anyway. The Longbottoms were the heroes who resisted the Dark Lord back then, and they should not end up like this."

Angelina felt that he was not lying and that what he said was sincere. She thought that such kind-hearted children are very rare now, so she would do him a favor and see if she could cure the person he said.

"Okay!" Angelina stood up, "Take me to see them now."

Charles was stunned for a moment. He originally just wanted to ask her to go to St. Mungo's Hospital after the holidays if the treatment was really possible, but he didn't expect that she would actually have it now.

"But..." Charles was a little embarrassed, "Tomorrow is Christmas Eve."

Angelina said nonchalantly: "It doesn't matter, don't you think giving the hero a Christmas Eve with the whole family reunited is the best gift."

Charles thinks what she said makes sense.
