Whether it is immortality or martial arts, it is not something that naturally exists in heaven and earth at the beginning, but is a knowledge developed by generations of Taoists.
Take martial arts as an example. It was originally just a discipline subordinate to the immortal way. People in the martial arts were even called physical practitioners. But now, this knowledge has become its own discipline, alongside the immortal way, and is respectfully called "martial arts".
.
Moreover, Taoism is inherently a practical knowledge. Whether it is the immortal master's formulas or the elixirs and true skills, for Taoists, their essence is just a path traveled by their predecessors.
Practitioners who walk along the path of their predecessors may be able to save energy and even lead directly to immortality. However, after embarking on the path of seeking the Tao, the specific walking method is still determined by the Taoist according to their own circumstances.
This point has been highlighted several times in "Hundred Solutions to Cultivation", including the following:
"When a junior scholar learns the Tao, he follows the rules and is self-contained; when a sergeant pursues the Tao, he follows the steps step by step and draws inferences from one example; when a senior scholar practices the Tao, he follows the natural teachings and follows his heart's desires without exceeding the rules. This can be said to be deviant from the Tao."
In other words, the best way to practice Taoism should be based on the nature of heaven and earth and the experience of previous generations, and prescribe the right medicine for each person, each seeking longevity.
It's just that most Taoists have limited talents. It's already difficult to follow the path of the predecessors and it's extremely difficult to achieve this point.
Even if it was Xu Dao, even if he had the Wu Zi Lu in his hand, he would have subconscious doubts in his heart when he suddenly thought that he would learn from others' strengths and create his own moves.
After all, he is just an apprentice seeking Taoism. He has not even completed foundation building, so he cannot be considered a true Taoist priest, let alone create his own martial arts moves.
But Xu Dao calmed down and thought about it carefully, and found that this move has great potential.
"Taoists in this world are neither religious figures from the previous life nor pure philosophers, but scientific researchers and scientists who are closer to studying things to gain knowledge." He thought in his mind.
"Now that I have just begun to dabble in the truth, I have little talent and little knowledge. I should learn from the strengths of others and adhere to the principle of seeking my own way, so as not to fall into the trap."
He held the "Dragon Tooth Palm" among the five secret books and encouraged himself: "This martial arts is just a low-level technique, which can barely make people reach the early stage of physical training. The Taoist who wants to create this martial arts may even build the foundation."
None of them were achieved.”
"If I create my own martial arts moves, I don't want to get a high-quality technique from the beginning that can suit my use and make up for my shortcomings. This is a means of growth."
What's more important is that Xu Dao can quickly learn other skills if he has the character string in hand. Creating his own skills is not a pure delusion for him.
Upon realizing this, Xu Dao suddenly felt a cheerful feeling in his mind.
Recently, the pressure caused by the difficulty of finding Taoism and the confusion about his future has suddenly dissipated a lot, and he has more expectations for the future.
For him, top and perfect Taoism is hard to find, and even if you work hard, you may not be able to get it. However, the difficulty of obtaining messy and incomplete Kung Fu books is much lower.
Touching the plain yellow paper in his hand, Xu Dao thought to himself: "Others learn from others' strengths and it takes a lot of energy and time to understand various techniques, but I can easily achieve it through the unmarked urn."
"With this, I can read a lot of books and learn from everything, so that I can find my own path of practice. Perhaps...this is the greatest effect of the unmarked urn, rather than just speeding up the process of practice."
Xu Dao looked at the five different techniques placed in front of him, frowned slightly, and whispered: "If you want to create your own martial arts moves, there are too few of the five techniques."
He thought for a while, and other cultivation techniques came to mind. It was not the "Yin Thunder Method in the Palm of Tanzhong", but the "Python Swallowing Snake Wrapping Strength", "Sealing the Essence and Locking the Yang Vajra" and other methods.
Although Immortal spells are cast by Yin gods, they are not only able to act on Yin gods, they can also protect and bless the physical body, and some of their practice concepts are the same as martial arts.
A closer look shows that although Xu Dao's realm is low, he has practiced quite a few techniques, and he has thoroughly studied each one and can integrate it into his own use.
However, Xu Dao still secretly thought in his heart: "If you want to draw parallels by analogy, the more techniques you have, the better."
It was still dark at this time, and the Sheshan Ghost Market was bustling. He could go to the ghost market now to do some shopping.
With this thought, Xu Dao was too lazy to delay any longer. After careful consideration, he confirmed that the idea was correct, and immediately arranged the means to protect his body. Then with a flash of Yin Shen, he drove the Gu insect to fly towards the ghost market.
For the next period of time, Xu Dao would go to the ghost market every night to buy books.
After seven days, there were nearly thirty secret books in the secret room, including boxing, footwork, fingering, equipment and other martial arts techniques, as well as several weapons refining and elixir refining methods, all of which he had learned during this period.
Bought in batches.
Some of them were noble and some were cheap, but they were all incomplete methods and cost him nearly 3,000 talismans in total. In addition, he also purchased a batch of pills and other items to assist in cultivation, which cost about 2,000 talismans.
When Xu Dao passed through the uncharacterized urn and mastered all thirty incomplete secret books in his heart, most of the spiritual objects he obtained from the Black Mountain were ground into talismans and burned into the fire.
Over and over, this move caused Xu Dao to lose all the spiritual objects in his bag and his net worth shrank, leaving only more than thirteen thousand in talisman money.
Fortunately, he gained a lot. He acquired thirty new secret books, and he understood them thoroughly, and his understanding of spiritual practice has undergone an earth-shaking change.
Its purpose of using exercises to supplement exercises has been carried out, and the plan to create its own method has taken real shape.
In the secret room today.
The place Xu Dao was in was completely dark, but the wind was blowing loudly, like a rolling river, shaking the entire secret room.
This is Xu Dao exercising his body. He walks, sits and sleeps, and his every move stirs the air in the room.
And as he moved, lightning suddenly appeared in the darkness, connecting the dots into lines and pieces until they formed a human shape.
The air of thunder and fire filled the secret room, and a powerful body stood upright, with electric light covering every part of its body and making a sizzling sound.
Xu Dao opened his eyes, and his eyes turned white, as if he were a god.
His deep voice sounded in the room: "The skin is refined by thunder and fire, and it is first formed."
This is Xu Dao's preliminary custom-made body training method based on the "Yin Lei Method of Tanzhong Palm", integrating the newly learned martial arts methods, supplementing and deleting them.
This technique is so crude that he is too lazy to name it. For the time being, it is just called the Thunder Fire Body Training Technique. However, its efficiency in training the body is already nearly 30% faster than the Yin Thunder Technique.
And in the process of skin refining alone, once the skin refining is completed, the air of thunder and fire will spread all over the practitioner's body, like a golden bell or an iron cloth guarding the upper and lower parts, which can suppress ghosts and kill people.
Therefore, Xu Dao has been re-tempering the skin membrane on his body according to the newly developed method during this period, so that with the same level of Qi and blood, the strength of his physical body has been greatly improved.
In addition, he used palm skills as the main body and refined thirteen killing moves, which can be used to kill with the head, fingers, palms, fists, elbows, shoulders, knees, legs, hips and other parts and postures.
The enemy is ruthless in his moves and is dedicated to taking other people's lives. He temporarily calls him the "Thirteen-Style Sanshou".
And because he believes that using the physical body to fight for life, no matter how powerful it is, there is still the possibility of destroying the physical body, so it is better to use weapons or magic weapons to fight the enemy first.
Then he referred to several swordsmanship and knife skills, and transformed the "Thirteen Styles of Sanshou" into the "Thirteen Styles of Swordsmanship", which include grid, strike, thrust, point, collapse, pressure, interception, tease, and chop.
There are thirteen techniques to choose from, each move kills people, and even thirteen moves of Sanshou.
Since then, Xu Dao's retreat has ended, and he has benefited a lot physically. His moves are no longer fancy, and he can only test his strength in actual combat.
