Chapter 142: Humanity asks for help

Snorri, surrounded by guards, walked up to the roof of the outlying building of the Helmgart settlement. He did not dare to be too confident in the face of the Skaven who did not know the details. The long-range firepower of these rats was not what they were.

Green mushrooms can compare.

Powerful weapons driven by warpstones such as Poison Wind Grenadiers, Dimensional Flamethrowers, Rattlings and Dimensional Gun Teams that are loved by most hammer friends, and Dimensional Lightning Cannons are enough to make even the strongest orc bow and arrow boy ashamed.

That's not enough for waaagh to find a place to bury it.

Although Snorri is not sure to what extent the technology of the Demon Rat Empire has reached the end of the world, which is more than a hundred years away, he does not want to put his own life to the test.

Snorri looked up and saw that the evil moon Morsribu was blooming with its green brilliance in the night sky. On the ground, many rats were running fast on the streets, making squeaking noises.

"These guys should be ordinary rats. They have been affected by the magic stones carried by Skaven and have undergone various strange mutations!" Johnson Strong Shield's voice rang. As a former iron-breaking veteran, he

I have a lot of experience fighting the rat people underground.

"Shouldn't these be the only things?" Snorri said, looking at them. Before he could finish speaking, there was a cry of murder coming from the end of the street.

"A few humans, chosen by the respected goddess!" A sharp-eyed ranger reported. As soon as he finished speaking, those humans also approached.

"Uh, ah!"

"George! No! These rats!"

"Go! Hurry! Drive!"

The shouts of humans reached Snorri's ears, and he saw a human who seemed to have been hit in the back and fell off his horse, and was then dragged away by the rats on the ground to feast on it.

"Come on, my compatriots, let us go to meet our human friends!" Snorri put on his helmet and walked off the roof. Upon hearing his order, the guard at the entrance of the settlement half-opened the door.
"Bang! Bang!"

With the roar of dwarf muskets, a group of chasing ratmen were shot down. Seizing this precious opportunity, the remaining two human riders rushed into the gate of the settlement, and the guards quickly closed the gate again.
"Are the Elder Stonelayers here?" The two riders jumped off their horses. Snorri noticed that there were various uneven depressions on the backs of their plate armor and helmets. These were probably used by the slave stone rats.

Caused by their crude slings.

No, Snorri stroked his beard and looked at the two humans at close range. He found that their plate armor had obvious traces of dwarven craftsmanship. Although he was not a full-time blacksmith, Snorri could still tell from the details.
This not only shows that the two riders are extraordinary, but also means that the stones that caused damage to the plate armor are likely to come from stronger members of the rat race. Such as night runners or even sewer runners.

Those black-clad death squads of the Essien clan - the Sewer Runners - are rumored to have received training in mysterious combat techniques from the Far East. These combat skills allow them to bend their flexible bodies at speeds and dexterity that ordinary humans cannot achieve.

This was not a good sign. Being able to hire the Eshin clan showed that the leading ratman boss had good financial resources. Combined with the previous explosion, Snorri began to wonder if this was an engineering warlock from the Skry clan.<

"Master Snorri has the final say here now! Human beings, what do you ask for when you come before the High Prince?" Before Snorri could speak, Captain Glenson, the conservative and stubborn dwarf warrior, took his place.

Opened his mouth.

"Uh, uh," the human rider was stunned for a moment when he realized that the familiar smiling face of the stone masonry elder was not in front of him. This group of dwarfs who were eyeing him eagerly were also extremely well-equipped.

"Dear Longbeard, I am Rick Knight Walter, and I am here to ask for help under the orders of Viscount Thompson!"

"What's the situation now?" Snorri asked simply. To be honest, he was a little worried whether these two humans were rats specially released to ask for help in order to attract his team from a favorable terrain.

?

You have to guard against this kind of trick of surrounding a point to call for reinforcements!

"The big rats that stand upright are all over the city. They seem to emerge from the sewers!" Walter said impatiently.

"Nonsense!" Snorri got a little angry. To be honest, he now understands why the elders are often impatient with their human friends.

Due to their short lifespan, they do not have much time to learn knowledge, so many things that are common sense to dwarves seem like fantasy to young humans.

It was obvious that Viscount Thompson did not listen to what he said at the city gate, or at least did not show enough attention. The messenger he sent even regarded the emergence of rats from the ground as news. Is it possible that they could fall from the sky?

?

"Uh uh..." The young human was frightened by Snorri's interruption. Although they were not yet the future Emperor's Imperial Guard, the Rick Knights were now beginning to take shape.

The young men who make up her are all young heirs of the Reikland nobles. They are eager to become a member of this legendary army and add a touch of glory to their youth careers.

This age composition means that they are young, strong, and full of enthusiasm, but it also leads to their general lack of experience.

"Where is Viscount Thompson? How many Skaven are there? Which clan do they belong to? Or what are the distinctive features of their troops?" Snorri asked a few questions in quick succession.

The two Rick knights looked at each other, and it was Walter who spoke again. "The Viscount protected the civilians and evacuated to the Sigma Temple. Now that the year is approaching, there are not many outside businessmen in the city."

"The Viscount sent two teams, one to Altdorf for help, and the other, that is, us, to ask for help from you. As for other issues, to be honest, this is the first time we have seen these guys, and we didn't know what to do in our haste.

Attention."

"Tsk!" Snorri frowned. Having said this, he basically didn't say anything. He still cast a dark eye on the enemy's situation.

"Before we broke through, the Viscount was fighting with the rats around the defense in front of the temple. Please support us as soon as possible!" Seeing that Snorri was still pondering, the two Rick knights became anxious.

"Okay, compatriots, line up!" Snorri raised the hammer and waved his hand to reject the reins offered by the anvil guard. He didn't want to be a target while riding a golden lamb in this street fight.

After hearing Snorri's instructions, the dwarves quickly formed a relatively dense formation. Considering that the ratmen might appear from any angle through the sewers, they used melee troops to wrap up the long-range ones.
